Crisis has begun...
ninjaboyballer4 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode of the Flash was not as good as the last one but it was still a really great episode. The battle with Ramsay and his army was if I'm gonna be honest was a bit intense. I thought everyone did a good job in this episode especially Sendhil Ramamurthy, who was just absolutely terrifying as Ramsay and so manipulative. I am proud to say that he is my favorite villain since Zoom, even though he's only going to be in this first half. And Candice Patton man I've grown to like Iris a lot more. She is just so good in her role. I though a few subplots could have been more entangled with each other like the one with Cecile and Camila and the one with Nash Wells. But it all converges at the end. And boy the CGI on Ramsay's monster form was honestly a bit impressive for a CW show. I wish we got more of it but I got just enough of it. The ending was also really heartwarming and also exciting. The conversation between the team was really touching and got me quite a bit. Also Pariah and the red skies. Crisis has started! Worlds will Live.....Worlds will die.....and the Universe will never be the same......

Final rating: 9.2/10

A strong mid-season finale, but disappointing coming off of one of the best episodes.
EddyTheMartian0074 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The Flash seems to be finally improving. I hope I'm not speaking to soon though because there have been many instances of a hopeful first half, followed by a disappointing continuation. The last episode of The Flash was one of it's best, so to come back to just a strong episode is disappointing. Most of my grievances have to come from the little repercussions from Ramsay. Ultimately what did this villain accomplish. If I'm being completely honest, the first half of this season, despite being an improvement and having one of the best episodes of the show, does feel uneventful. Ramsay really didn't do anything to change team flash. His motivations weren't particularly strong, and apart from the last episode he didn't have many good moments. I did really like when he turned into a full blood monster. The CGI was surprisingly good, but apart from that not much else was impressive. They didn't really do as much as they could with Negative Flash. I feel like the overall episode just felt too rushed. While it may seem I am being overly negative, I did really enjoy this episode. There were some very cool moments, like the aforementioned blood monster, the long take with Cecile and Alegra, and Barry's farewell, but to close off this arc, it feels a bit empty. There could've been a lot more done. It was also very stupid of Russo not to kill any of the team flash members when he had the chance. The explanation just seemed like plot convenience. However, once again I did find this to be a strong episode, probably the best apart from the first part. It had its emotional moments, it's cool moments, but a lack of stakes, and the rushed feeling of the episode bring it down as a whole.

The goof

Warning: Spoilers
Just wanted to point out the goof is incorrect. Lyla becomes Harbinger after this episode takes place as Arrow purgatory episode aired after this Flash episode.

Central City has the worst luck!
RahulM0074 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The Flash concluded its two part mid-season finale in a fitting and satisfying way. While, this episode did not reach the heights of last week's amazing episode, it was still a solid Flash episode. It capped off the Bloodwork storyline and gave us a little more substance on the Pariah front.

Seeing Bloodwork in his true form was quite terrifying, yet amazing. The CGI of Bloodwork could not be topped. The final fight between the Flash and Bloodwork was short, but worth it in any possible way. How Barry managed to outsmart him was unpredictable and made Ramsey Rosso a more sympathetic character. I really believed that Ramsey would somehow meet his demise in this episode. However, he is now in Argus custody where he will destabilize and recuperate from the immense dark matter he gathered.

The true MVP of the episode has to be Allegra whose built up quite a reputation since episode 2. She used her powers to stop Bloodwork's army from rising and to turn every infected human to their normal state. She was introduced as an unlikable character who I did not really care about, but now my perception of her shifted completely. Is the show setting her up to be a future member of Team Flash?

The absence of Ralph Dibny was noticeable in this episode. It was understandable why he did not appear. He is still recovering from Bloodwork's infection. Hopefully he'll be fully recovered when the Crisis sets.

To conclude, this episode served as a satisfying conclusion to the first half of the season. The end reveal got me even more excited for the crossover. Hopefully, Crisis on Infinite Earths will live up to the hype.

Real good mid-season finale!
linussundvall-052214 December 2019
The first two part finale on the flash and it was awesome! This didn't feel like a mid season finale... this felt more like a finale for an 8 episode season. Because at the end it's like they always do at the end of a season... they tease the next. Now they teased crisis instead of next season but still! I'll admit last weeks episode was better but that was godlike... even in my top 5 episodes of the show... so it would be really hard for this episode to beat that but this was still a really good mid-season finale, keep it up Eric Wallace and the writers!

Last episode was 9.9/10 for me but this one will get a 9.7/10 really close though!

Dope Episode

It's a 10/10 but I gave it 9 because they changed the CGI sound of Bloodwork it was much better and scarier in the last temptation part 1.

Wow
Authoric12 October 2020
Don't think by the title I'm being sarcastic, because I'm not. I've been a huge Flash fan from 'Pilot' (2014) all the way to the unexpected ending of season six: 'Success Is Assured' (2020). This episode was a carry on to one of my absolute favourite episodes of the season. I would have preferred if they had just kept Bloodwork as their season six villain, but either way, that won't make me hate the rest of the season. I still think it's pure gold.

Not so exciting anymore its a pity
SassySavage16 December 2019
This show declined so much i don't even think the "big" Crisis is gonna save the Flash. The actors and the writers promised so much for this season and it's a big let down. I don't see good changes. It's worst. It's boring. This show doesn't keep the audience wanting for more anymore or what is up to see next at least not for me. Bye.

Perfect way to end
chubbysupreme4 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Why: this episode is slightly not better than last episode and i can see why. However this episode is what mid-season finale should be. I like how the writers take their criticism of the show and change it.

Pros :

-dark flash

-horror movie's vibes

-cisco's still useful

-valid argument points from both characters between iris and cisco

-allegra's purpose

-caitlyn takes over the body for crisis(i'm not sure thats a good thing or not)

-i like how the writers reduce the team power of tf

-bloodwork's cgi form(let's appreciated it is red)

-flash vs bloodwork one-on-one

-yay ramsey is still around. (I kinda think he's gonna overload himself in that prison that he was trapped in and dies)

-cisco mentioning the s1's nostagic

-the team having their moments together while casually waiting for crisis.

Cons:

-i can't think one BUT the kamila-and-cecile escaping their room(which we HAS to see them escaping) but i kinda prefered seeing more of dark flash than them escaping

-None

Overall thoughts:

-the flash 6x08 - 9.2/10

-bloodwork as a villain - A-tier

-first half of s6 - 8.9/10

Reasons: the reason why everybody thinks this episode is not as good as last one is because there was not too much fan-service i guess. This episode is basically every characters(except ralph) coming together(even characters we don't want to see do something). But somehow they did a fantastic job making the episode great.

Conclusions : i wanted to see ramsey grow up as a villain more but which we got(this half) somehow kinda make sense. The villain itself is a hit-or-miss kinda situation...because we only get see flash and bloodwork fight for this episode..and bloodwork gets defeated which works so well coz bloodwork is not a complex villain unlike cicada. Cicada can be a COMPLEX villain if they wrote him better, like give him a storyline or a more unique backstory. The writers literally make him a villain for the first half(like ramsey) but dragged him till the end. The flash 100th episode should be where he gets defeated, and bring in the 2nd cicada in 15th episode or something.

Ramsey is just a doctor who was obsessed..that's all. Oh yeah the acting helps too.

WOW WHAT A GREAT END!
masterlukewharris4 December 2019
WOW. JUST WOW. The Flash this season has been on point so far. This end to Bloodwork, for now, has been a thrilling episode full of heart, and horror-styled action. This certainly gave me a breath of fresh air, and i absolutley loved every bit of it. Flash Fans, our boy Barry is about to die.

Prepare for Crisis.

A perfect send-off
chubbysupreme4 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Why : its really good that we still got bloodwork around, he really is a great villain. I like very directions it takes in this episode.

Pros :

-every scene of 'dark flash' is hot

-an actual creepy villain like they promised in their comic con

-situation without the flash

-cisco is still useful

-every characters tied into one place

-yes red bloodwork

-barry fighting the big bad on his own

-its kinda a good thing the writers reduce the team power of tf.. no elongated man and vibe

-'The Dark Flash' is a convenient name compared to negative flash.

-the final scene

  • barry : "we can't be far" u damn right he cant be far..lol

-bloodwork vs flash

-allegra's purpose

-catilyn to takes over the body, coz we alrdy has enough superheroes for crisis.

-Story THAT MAKES SENSE(even though it confused at times)

Cons :

-less fan-service (its fine if you look at story viewpoint

Conclusion : i can see why bloodwork is only a half-villain. The villain itself is an actual hit-or-miss villain...ex. you tried to stop him, the villain defeats you in a unpleasant way..basically (bloodwork) they only fights only once only for this episode which is a good thing, unlike cicada whos mario-out his way every single damn defeated or not. They build up bloodwork for perfectly good. His story was'nt complex just a doctor who was obsessed. Cicada's story could'hv been handled well, but instead they just keep doing the same things for the second half of s5.

Overall :

-Bloodwork A-tier villain

-first half of s6 - 9.2/10 ..weak subplots brought the rating down.

How people can like this episode...
mridul-dey0014 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Last week's episode gave so much promise....the villainous Flash. But what .. the villain Flash did, other than having an ugly smile on his face. We get it Barry was in control all the time... So he was in his senses to do villainous things. And in 8 episodes Bloodwork never looked like a threat... except for last week... But that was ruined by today's clumsy ending. There was a time once Zoom, Reverse Flash even ended in high note. I don't think Blood work will be ever remembered and he is never going to be even in Cicada's league. Ohh sorry, we get to see the comic Bloodwork form.. but for how long...2 mins in 8 episodes. And how does it end... His mother shows up & gives him some pep talk. Awesome.. who writes this. That's the tale of Bloodwork.

Now coming to the other parts, Caitlin is always a better character than Frost. And also Frost became Professor Hulk. I never understood how frost talks the technical things like Caitlin does....like she understands everything. I get it she is always in conversation with Caitlin.. but how does it make her as smart as Caitlin... seems like if I'm over call with Stephen Hawkins suddenly I'll talk about Blackhole radiation theory like nothing. Frost only looks good - a proper badass. She was a good villain. But doing these stuffs really feels forced. Let it be clumsy, genius, funny banner most of the time.. show Frost in fights...

Cecile...why she was there.. what was her role, other than filling screentime.

Now comes Candice Patton.. more Iris... How people can not see she is such a bad actress. Look at her expression when Flash tries to Reverse Flash her(overused)... the expression she has is blank.. I guess she was supposed to act scared to make Bloodwork look like a threat..but what she did... lol. One needs to look at Cecile or Joe how scared expression can be done. Then everyone shares their story when the crisis is about to come.. Cisko looks sad, Joe looks sad.. Cecile's conversation was even charming, Barry looks sad(really sad).. but how Iris looks....blank.

Why can't see..gaping mouth, sticking out tongue is not acting ..as Iris does. one need to look at Joe, Cecile, Nora Allen, Henry Allen ,Tom Cavanagh, Barry or sometimes Caitlin to know how various expressions look like...

Why she was a misfit as a leader... not because her lack of knowledge in science. Even I am sure H.R.Wells would have been well accepted as leader. Only reason she was and had a huge backladh coz Candice Patton is boring personality, a bad actress, self consumed character and a smug personality in real life.

One of the worst episodes of the whole series.
vaklavkoca5 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I'm so disappointed in this show. Last episode was one of the best episodes in the whole series, and then they ruined it with this episode--one of the worst episodes of the whole series. Okay, first of all, evil Flash just runs out of the room where all of the people who can stop him are. (Cait, Cisco, and Iris). He just zips away and does what??? He could have turned them or killed them right there. Or captured them and brought them back to Ramsey. Then they forcefield off Star Labs (Where the hell has that been? so many people sneak in to there). "Nothing can get in or out, not even our comms."--Direct quote from Cisco. LITERALLY three seconds later they receive a radio transmission, like okay. So then Iris moronically teleports to evil flash. Evil flash has a second chance here to kill or turn her but decides not to??? Then Ramseys finds Joe and Killer Frost in the middle of Central City and decides to send his zombie goons after them rather than just killing/turning them himself. Again just what the hell writers??? What was Ramsey's doing that was more important than that? Okay, so then Cisco teleports in and zaps Ramseys, then for like the fourth time Ramseys has a chance to kill/turn Cisco but decides not to for no reason at all??? He kept acting like he is so much smarter than everyone else, like he has some super smarty pants plan that is going to wow us all when he executes it. Then just shows up at Star Labs and says "pretty please let me in." And Ciscos just like "K" and does. Why did bloodwork even need to be there? His zombies can turn people, he could have just sent them rather than going himself. He could have sent evil flash in and just captured/turned/killed all of Star Labs, but doesn't for some reason. Then of course, mind controlling never works in Tv shows; all you need is a heartfelt speech and they snap out of it, so that happens and Ramseys loses. So also there was a side story with Cecille. What was Cecille's power??????? She said "I'm a human zombie detector." Then proceeds to walk through the halls, and I kid you not the two times that she actually detects zombies, she does so with her eyes? Like, come on writers. Also, side note, where was Elongated Man?

Last episode had me extremely excited for this villains and then this episode proceeded to kill my enjoyment of this story line. I'm still excited for the crossover next week, but I was extremely dissatisfied with this episode.

Boring, stupid and ugly. Worst episode since Season 4.
giorgos-tsio-092896 December 2019
We all know that the special effects on The Flash are not so good and that's ok because of the budget, but the practical ones in this episode are just terrible. You can see how Ramsay is painted in his face etc. Anyway, the previous episode was solid. And that's because it was mostly Barry Allen, not Flash. That's what people like, that's why i.e Spider-Man 2 is the best even though it has the least Spider-Man in any movie. People are interested in the Hero, not the Super.

Zombie = very bad cinematography

You know a show is going to be bad when there are zombies appearig everywhere. This zombie idea is the worst in all of cinematography history. Only a mindless puppet can give birth to an equally mindless idea - zombies.... Shame

What happened to this show
Quakquak29 January 2020
I know I am gonna get a lotta hate but the show has not been good ever since season 3. I was hoping season 6 they start to man the F up and start writing good stories but as I watched more episodes I"ve noticed how lazy the writing is and how bad the plot is. Fighting black holes what am I witnessing this ain't power rangers. I hope the season gets better. However the last episode was the best episode out of the season 3,4 and 5. If they start making episode like the last one I will be more hyped up.
