I’m going to begin this review with a warning to the three people out there concerned with the entertainment value of the Dtv movie Kill Speed. I guess “spoiler alert!” is the more proper way to convey this information, so consider yourself alerted (and spoiled) if you choose to read on.
Any movie that begins with Tom Arnold (Rosanne, Meet the Stupids, Big Bully, etc.) dying in an exploding trailer can’t be all that bad. Kill Speed happens to be such a movie. It does, indeed, begin with Tom Arnold dying in an exploding trailer — and the movie isn’t all that bad.
The scene in question features Mr. Arnold (playing against type as an obese slob named Rhaynes) cooking up some crystal meth inside a shabby trailer in the desert.

Picture the scene: you’re walking through your local HMV (other retailers are available) and you're looking to buy a movie because you’ve got the boys coming over for some gaming and beers. The perfect genre to pick for such an occasion is the “dumb but rather fun” action flick – a film that is for all intensive purposes awful, yet is entertaining to an extent. Enter Kill Speed (2010)...
Kill Speed is an apparently “high octane” action film starring former WCW and WWE wrestler Bill Goldberg, Terminator 2’s Robert Patrick, Heroes' mind reading cop Greg Grunberg and Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. The premise of the film revolves around a bunch of drug smugglers who get their wares over the border by using “supersonic” planes. But when a big deal worth $2.7 million rears its head, the FBI get involved and it soon becomes a game of cat and mouse for...

Kill Speed
Stars: Andrew Keegan, Brandon Quinn, Nick Carter, Natalia Cigliuti, Goldberg, Robert Patrick, Greg Gunberg, Reno Wilson | Written and Directed by Kim Bass
A trio of young cocky pilots make their fortune running crystal meth across the Mexican border into California in their high-speed 300mph private planes, a fortune which helps pay for a rockstar Hollywood lifestyle of high-rolling, girls and party after party. But their antics attract the attention of the FBI, who want to use the trio to bust the Mexican cartel that is supplying the crystal meth. Caught in between the cops and the crooks, the flyboys must run their craziest mission yet.
Just pause for a minute and re-read that plot outline. Now think about it for a moment… Yes, Kill Speed is Fast & Furious, only with planes instead of hot-rods. It’s almost as if writer/director Kim Bass had an idea for another...

Larry King made history last night by signing off on his last installment of "Larry King Live," but not everyone watching was a huge fan. Actually, there were a few critical grumbles in the feed today, with Greg Grunberg sounding off about Larry, Greg Mottola calling out the MPAA with a disagreement and Damon Lindelof calling out NBC's "The Cape."
Yesterday also brought one of the great accomplishments in trending hashtag use of 2010, however. Patton Oswalt and Jon Hurwitz led the charge their own picks for "Unfairly Maligned Film Characters," and the rest of Twitter just sort of followed along. Check out the whole archive of those posts on Twitter, as well as a couple of my favorites after the jump.
