I record you very revealing episode.

This episode 4 from season 3 of "American Crime Story: Impeachment" called "The Telephone Hour" was one interesting and revealing one in the saga and triangle of Monica, Linda, and President Clinton. Here we find Monica still star struck and love crushed on Bill as she's trying to get her way back into the white house and around Bill. Only Bubba plays games with her heart of cat and mouse like, and Monica cries like a baby girl to Linda who she looks up to like a god mom, only things get juicy when Linda desperate for fame and a story buys a tape recorder and continues chat after chat with Monica by phone! And this episode reveals and shows the famous blue dress that Monica saved with it's white stain! Overall another fine and great super episode that revealed more about the obsession, and personal political scandal of an intern and president.

"Why won't he see me?"

Warning: Spoilers
"Impeachment" regains its momentum in this episode, as we return to tremulous Monica trying to sweet-talk her way back into the White House.

We observe a painful interaction with staffer Marsha Scott, who, seemingly to Monica's surprise, hasn't been spending all of her time focused on this momentous enterprise.

Marsha questions why Monica doesn't keep a great job at the Pentagon, one that can send her traveling around the globe for the Defense Department. But we're dealing with obsession here.

"He won't even see me for two f___ing minutes -- and I spend every minute of every day thinking of him!" tearful Monica tells Linda Tripp from a phone booth in the rain. "I don't want to be here -- I don't want to exist!"

Meanwhile, Linda's upping the ante in her quest for a blockbuster. "I've made an Excel spreadsheet documenting every sexual encounter," she confides to publishing honcho Lucianne Goldberg. And next we know, she's secretly taping her phone chats with Monica.

Vernon Jordan discusses a job prospect for Monica in New York, but her heart isn't in it. After she pointedly reminds Clinton secretary Betty that he promised her -- "to my face" -- that she'd be back in the White House, Monica finally gets that call from the big guy -- but this time he's spewing obscenities.

"I thought you were a good girl," Clinton tells the now 24-year-old. "If I knew this was who you were, I never would have gotten involved with you. You swore you wouldn't cause trouble!"

But Clinton's a sweet-talker himself, and soon he's telling Monica that they'll hang out together someday in the Big Apple. Yeah, right.

Our tax dollars at work!

Warning: Spoilers
Not bad, but it was a lot of just phone conversations. Felt like we could have benefited from a "B" storyline or something else.

The Telephone Hour

The episode reveals just how obsessed Monica is about President Clinton. You cannot blame her given her age.

Bill and his personal staff deflect her or just prevaricate as Monica gets increasingly frustrated.

Linda Tripp is just a snake in the grass. Now taping the conversations with Monica. Being passive-aggressive.

It is hard to feel sorry for Bill. He bought this upon himself. He has given a loaded gun to his political opponents.

As a drama, it was a series of phone calls and of course that stained dress makes an appearance.

Compelling Drama Hindered by Casting Misstep"
damirpozderac3 March 2024
I found the series to be a captivating exploration of a significant moment in American history. The narrative delves deep into the complexities of the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, offering nuanced portrayals of key players and their motivations.

However, amidst the compelling storytelling, a significant detraction was a complete miscasting of Monica Lewinsky. Despite the show's attention to detail in other areas, actress chosen for the role appeared noticeably larger and shorter than the real Monica Lewinsky. The ridiculous miscasting of Monica Lewinsky unfortunately undermines the series authenticity.
