- Jack Bauer: Who the hell do you think you are? You think this is easy? You think you understand what I'm going through? Because you don't. I am dying. And I was okay with it. I could handle it. And now you've put in front of me the one thing, the one thing that is gonna make this unbearable.
- President Allison Taylor: [after he enters the Oval Office] what is it?
- Tim Woods: Madam President, the Joint Chiefs are beginning to "question" your decision to call off the airstrike on Starwood: they think the intelligence we received from Tony Almeida was "sufficient", and that maybe we may be missing an "opportunity" to destroy the bio weapons?
- President Allison Taylor: I gave my orders: no airstrike, no military action of any kind on Starkwood and I asked you to "handle" the Joint Chiefs, so "handle" them
- Tim Woods: I'll do my best ma'am but if I may? What is our next move?
- President Allison Taylor: Jonas Hodges is coming to the White House, he wants to speak with me alone
- Tim Woods: For what possible reason?
- President Allison Taylor: I don't know
- Tim Woods: Madam President, shouldn't your advisors be at that meeting?
- President Allison Taylor: [Irritated] stop asking me questions. If you want to help, make sure as few people as possible know about Jonas Hodges is coming here and bring him in through the southeast service entrance
- Jack Bauer: [Over the speakerphone as Renee stands nearby] madam President, we need to talk
- President Allison Taylor: No, we don't: you need to listen. I appreciate everything that you done in gathering this intel but I still need "more" before I can authorize an airstrike, I'm sorry
- Jack Bauer: With all due respect, I don't think your being "truthful" to us
- President Allison Taylor: Excuse me?
- Jack Bauer: I think you called off the airstrike because Jonas Hodges is in possession of surface to surface missiles armed with the bio weapon and is threatening to use them in case you try to take action against him
- Jack Bauer: [after she doesn't respond] Tony Almeida witnessed a truck pumping RP-7 rocket fuel into an underground depot situated right next to the bunker where the bio weapons are being stored. The only purpose for RP-7 rocket fuel is to launch missiles. Please just tell us the truth
- President Allison Taylor: Hodges has thirteen python missiles armed with bio weapons that are currently aimed at American cities: he demanded I recall the planes or he would launch
- Renee Walker: What does Hodges want?
- President Allison Taylor: I don't know but he wants a face to face meeting, he'll be here in a few minutes
- Jack Bauer: The only reason he wants a face to face meeting is to lay out his demands and whatever they are, you cannot negotiate with him
- President Allison Taylor: I'm not planning on negotiating with him. Once he places his cards on the table, I am sure that I can make him realize the "futility" of what he is trying to do
- Jack Bauer: Jonas Hodges is a traitor and a terrorist and after everything that's happened today, are you really naive enough to think you can simply talk to him and change his mind?
- President Allison Taylor: I'm not new at this and right now I don't have another option
- Jack Bauer: You do, Tony Almeida is still inside Starkwood
- President Allison Taylor: I ordered him ex-filtrated immediately, what's he still doing there?
- Jack Bauer: I asked him to stand by until I could talk to you: he believes he can gain access to the fuel depot and lay a series of explosive charges and take the missiles out. Now I believe this could work but we need to act quickly
- President Allison Taylor: What about the bio weapons?
- Jack Bauer: RP-7 rocket fuel burns at five thousand degrees, there'd be nothing left
- Renee Walker: Once the weapons are destroyed, Larry Moss and his teams can move in on Starkwood and lock it down
- President Allison Taylor: Hodges gave standing orders to his men to launch the missiles, at the first detection of government interference. If Almeida is detected, thousands of Americans will die
- Jack Bauer: I know there is a risk but I would be asking you to do this if I didn't think it could work. Please, I am begging you, trust me
- President Allison Taylor: How long did the doctors give you to live?
- Jack Bauer: [Caught off guard by her question] their not sure but the pathogen has started to take effect
- President Allison Taylor: [Before she hangs up] then there's not much I can do to threaten you with is there? I expect you'll do what you think is right
- Larry Moss: [Over the phone] it sounds to me the President didn't actually "authorize" this?
- Renee Walker: "Technically" no, it's more like an indirect order but believe me, she wants this to happen: she's going to meet with Hodges and we're going to blow those fuel tanks
- Renee Walker: [When he doesn't respond] do you have a problem with this?
- Larry Moss: As a matter of fact: no, none whatsoever. Starkwood bastards drew on my men, I'm looking forward to getting back in there
- Renee Walker: Alright, hold your teams in position and be ready to move. Believe me, you'll know when it happens
- Larry Moss: [Before hanging up] alright
- Jonas Hodges: [Introducing him] this is Greg Seaton, my "associate", a remarkable man, doesn't look remarkable, but believe me, his a genius
- President Allison Taylor: Yes, I know Mr. Seaton
- Jonas Hodges: It never gets old, does it? Stepping into Oval Office, smells of history. Could we sit?
- President Allison Taylor: Please?
- Jonas Hodges: This is the first time I've been in this Office since you were elected
- President Allison Taylor: I'm aware of that, yes
- Jonas Hodges: Under your predecessor, I used to drop by every... couple months. I briefed President Daniels on what was really going on in the world
- President Allison Taylor: And you've been excluded now. Is that what this is about?
- Jonas Hodges: No ma'am. It's about Starkwood fulfilling the purpose in which it was founded: protecting this country
- President Allison Taylor: You have been attacking this country, you and General Juma have killed hundreds of innocent people, including my son
- Jonas Hodges: Madam President, I'm deeply sorry for your loss and my heart breaks for all the lives that were taken today but I'm shocked that you would think I had anything to do with this
- President Allison Taylor: We have evidence that you've been working with Juma
- Jonas Hodges: Your intelligence agencies have "failed" you. If I had known what Juma was up to, I would've done everything in my power to stop him: so let's push aside all these "baseless" accusations and maybe we can do some "business" here?
- President Allison Taylor: I'm listening
- Jonas Hodges: Madam President, I know you're a student of history, so you're well aware that our nation's independence was won at the aid of private armies and we can't survive without them, look how easy it was to get bio weapons into this country. Our defenses are fragile, they're on the verge of collapse but it's not too late to do something about it
- President Allison Taylor: So, what're you suggesting?
- Jonas Hodges: In short, I want a seat at the table: Starwood needs to be "involved" in the "shaping" of military policy, domestic and global
- President Allison Taylor: It sounds more like you want a seat at the "head" of the table?
- Jonas Hodges: Madam President, I am not here to supplant your authority, what I'm proposing is a "partnership." Think of Starkwood as a fifth branch of the military, Greg?
- Jonas Hodges: [after Seaton stands up and places a document on her table] this contains the protocols that will serve as the "basis" of our agreement. I suggest we review it together?
- President Allison Taylor: [Looks at the document briefly, then tosses it back on her table] I agreed to this meeting because I wanted to hear what you had to say but what you're "proposing" is blackmail
- Jonas Hodges: Well, that's putting it in the worst possible light
- President Allison Taylor: You are threatening to kill thousands of people
- Jonas Hodges: I'm not proud of this chapter, I'll be the first to admit it, and it's time to "turn the page", this country has seen enough bloodshed today. For the sake of the American people madam President, I implore you to work with me and let's move past this: pick up the document madam President
- President Allison Taylor: [while reviewing his document] it says here you want "active status" in the Pentagon's "strategic planning"?
- Jonas Hodges: That's correct
- President Allison Taylor: That would give you access to Level Six classified material: not even the Vice President has that clearance
- Jonas Hodges: These points are nonnegotiable, I'm not here to debate them
- Greg Seaton: Let's review the next section which concerns Senate oversight of Starkwood field operations
- Tim Woods: [after knocking on the door] I'm sorry to disturb you madam President but I need to speak with you
- President Allison Taylor: Can it wait?
- Tim Woods: No, it can't
- President Allison Taylor: [to Jonas before getting up to leave] will you excuse me for a moment?
- Jonas Hodges: Of course
- President Allison Taylor: [Over the phone] Jonas Hodges is under arrest
- Jack Bauer: [Relieved] that's very good news
- President Allison Taylor: You and your team provided me with an "option" and for that I am deeply grateful and so are the American people
- Jack Bauer: Madam President, it was Tony Almeida who risked his life to destroy those missiles and as you know his facing arrest for things he did leading up today and I was hoping maybe you could...
- President Allison Taylor: Jack?
- Jack Bauer: I'm sorry, I completely forgot what I was saying
- President Allison Taylor: You were talking about Mr. Almeida and yes I will take his actions into account
- Jack Bauer: Thank you
- President Allison Taylor: What's happening?
- Jack Bauer: I'm not exactly sure
- President Allison Taylor: I am so sorry you're going through this. I wish there were "something" I could do
- President Allison Taylor: Madam President, I appreciate this phone call but I'm sorry, I have to go
- President Allison Taylor: Of course
- Jack Bauer: [Before hanging up] thank you
- Dr. Sunny Macer: Memory loss is consistent with the disease, I just wouldn't expect it would manifest this quickly
- Jack Bauer: It's not just memory loss, it feels like... I don't know exactly how to explain it. I feel like... I'm losing some "part" of myself
- Dr. Sunny Macer: The disease profile includes personality changes, sometimes hallucinations but this is a weaponized pathogen we don't know much about: the military's still combing through the remains of the bio weapons lab in Sangala so we expect to learn "something" soon
- Jack Bauer: You were able to give me "something" to control the shaking, is there "something" you can give me to help me with this?
- Dr. Sunny Macer: No, I'm sorry
- Jack Bauer: Ok, thank you, excuse me
- Renee Walker: [Walking up to him] are you alright?
- Jack Bauer: Yeah. I'm going to need to go on record with everything that happened today and we need to do it soon, I'm not sure how long I'll be able to remember the details
- Renee Walker: Ok, first there's something you need to know
- Jack Bauer: What?
- Renee Walker: It's about Kim: she's here, I told her that you were sick
- Jack Bauer: You did what?
- Renee Walker: And she may be able to help with treatment?
- Jack Bauer: [Angrily] who the hell do you think you are? You think this easy? You think you "understand" what I'm going through? Because you don't
- Jack Bauer: [after she told him she informed Kim that he was infected with the virus and suggested to Kim that she may able to help with his treatment against Jack's request] no, you listen, I "specifically" told you do not "drag" my daughter into this
- Renee Walker: [Raises her voice] no one "dragged" her into anything: she's been trying to see you all day
- Jack Bauer: What?
- Renee Walker: She was at the Senate hearing this morning. She flew out from LA to be here but we pulled you out before she could see you: she's been leaving messages at our office all day. They just didn't get to me until just now. If you want, I can tell her you're not here. I can tell her that "you can't see her"
- Jack Bauer: I can't do that. Where is she?
- Renee Walker: Down the hall
- Jack Bauer: Show me
- Kim Bauer: [Seeing him for the first after learning his infected with the virus] how are you feeling?
- Jack Bauer: I'm ok
- Kim Bauer: You're not in any pain?
- Jack Bauer: No
- Kim Bauer: Let's sit down. Did Agent Walker tell you I was trying to find you?
- Jack Bauer: [Nods] yeah
- Kim Bauer: I've tried everything to track you down, the State Department, private investigators. Every time I got a phone number, you were gone
- Jack Bauer: I'm sorry. I thought I was doing the best thing for you by staying away
- Kim Bauer: I've missed you so much
- Jack Bauer: I've missed you too. You need to know how sorry I am for everything you had to live through because of me
- Kim Bauer: No, don't do that: don't put that on yourself, I'm the one who should apologize, I pushed you away and instead of taking responsibility for all the mistakes I made in my life, I blamed you. And it was stupid and immature, and now all the time that we've lost. Agent Walker told me that there's a "chance", a small "chance" that I could help you and you don't want me to?
- Jack Bauer: The treatment is "experimental" and I don't think it's going to work
- Kim Bauer: And you don't want to because you're afraid to ask me?
- Jack Bauer: No, there's a "risk" to you
- Kim Bauer: A small "risk" worth taking
- Jack Bauer: Not to me. I'm dying and whatever small "chance" there is to stop that from happening, is not worth the pain of letting you sit there and watch me die
- Kim Bauer: [Before hugging] I don't want to lose you, I don't
- Jack Bauer: Sweetheart, it's going to be alright
