Those Cars Are Always Running Out Of Gas
Here we are in the second installment of 'The Blondes and the Redheads', with June Brewster on the lookout for millionaires, and bubble-voiced and brained Carol Tevis an item with Grady Sutton. They're carhops at a White Castle knockout; he's handling a gas pump, when in comes Landers Stevens -- director George Stevens' father. They have the same last name! Landers Stevens and Sutton, that is. In the movie.
It's RKO's response to Roach's 'The Girl Friends', and they did eleven of them from 1933 through 1935. This one has some fine gags, and is definitely pre-code.
