  Anna Maria : Then you saved our lives. You're my hero, Peter Parker.

  [elbows him and walks inside] 

  Peter Parker : [thinking]  She recognizes my heroism!

• Peter Parker : Even when logic would dictate otherwise, I admire the way you acknowledge no obstacles. A damaged auditorium does not prevent you from pursing your goal of bettering Midtown High.

  Anna Maria : Yeah, well growing up, people always underestimated me because of my size. So I had a choice. I could accept those limitations or I could overcome them. Is something wrong, Peter?

  Peter Parker : I was also treated as an outsider growing up. But I dealt with it... differently. I reasoned it was safer to detach myself from humanity. Be above all others.

  Anna Maria : You reasoned that? But how did doing that make you feel?

  Peter Parker : I experienced blessed isolation. Time to myself. My thoughts. But, also I felt alone. I never really had friends.

  Anna Maria : [hugs him]  Well, you do now.

• Peter Parker : [during the moment of transfer]  You made it pretty clear yesterday you wouldn't do this. Why give me my body back now?

  Otto Octavius : I-I failed, Parker. And because of that, good people are about to lose their lives. I thought more technology, more reason, more logistics would make me a better hero then you ever were.

  Peter Parker : Maybe it has.

  Otto Octavius : No. Seeing you show up just now, willing to use the last few minutes of your life to save mine, save the man who took everything from you? That is illogical, preposterous. And completely heroic. In a way I realize I never could be. I have been a fool. You, Peter Parker, were always the Superior Spider-Man.

  Peter Parker : But, Ock, the circuits in the arms... They're degrading quickly. Swapping your mind into a place that can't keep it alive for long...

  Otto Octavius : I am well aware. But I have the power to do this. So I have the responsibility to do it too. I only ask that you save Anna Maria and Flash. That will make this decision worth it.

• Spider-Man : [taking Anna Maria to Ock's arms]  Ock, I brought your friend. She's safe. Flash too.

  Otto Octavius : Thank you, Spider-Man.

  Anna Maria : [kneels down]  Peter? Is that you in there?

  Otto Octavius : My real name is Otto. But yes, it is me. I am sorry I deceived you. It is too late for me, but your lack of injuries give me comf... I mean, I am glad you are not hurt. Goodbye, my friend. And goodbye, Spider-Man.

  [the arms shut down] 

  Anna Maria : [crying]  Can't you do anything?

  Spider-Man : Not without a body to...

  [suddenly gets an idea] 

  Spider-Man : Wait! There still might be time.

  [picks up the arms and he and Anna Maria run out. The scene cuts to the hospital where Otto's body is] 

  Anna Maria : Who is this?

  Spider-Man : Otto Octavius. The man who saved your life. This is his former body. And if we're lucky, his future one.

  [the arms project Otto's mind into his body] 

  Anna Maria : Did it work?

  [they look at the monitor] 

  Spider-Man : Increased brain activity. He's still in a coma, but I think his mind is back where it should be.

  Anna Maria : Everything you told me, it's nearly impossible to believe. But one thing's for certain. The Peter Parker I met, the man now in this body, he was a hero.

• [last lines] 

  Spider-Man : Hello again, New York! Spider-Man is back. Whoo-hoo!

• Venom : [facing off with Superior Spider-Man]  The day has finally come, spider! Venom will destroy you!

  Superior Spider-Man : Speaking in third-person to sound more intimidating? Ha! I invented that.

• Spider-Man : [swinging onto the scene]  Wow. I forgot how bad you smell up close. I bet when you chop onions, you make them cry.

  Venom : Silence, fraud!

  [attacks him] 

  Spider-Man : Fraud? You mean you don't recognize your friendly, neighborhood me?

  [flips over Venom's tendrils and frees Flash, then catches him before he hits the ground] 

  Flash Thompson : Spider-Man. You saved me.

  Spider-Man : Flash, get to safety. I'll get your friend out of the clutches of old Gooey McGoo Face here.

  Venom : [grabs his legs and pulls him close]  Quips? Jokes? Perhaps...

  [licks his face before letting him go] 

  Spider-Man : That is a pretty gross ID check you got. Maybe next time I can just show you my bus pass?

  Venom : It *is* you. The real Spider-Man, Peter Parker!

• Peter Parker : [leaning over Miles, who's waking up in the hospital]  Miles, you're awake. How are you?

  Miles Morales : Why do you care, Ock?

  Peter Parker : Uh-uh. Guess again.

  Miles Morales : Peter? No, no way!

  Peter Parker : [in monotone while dancing]  Would you like to see me dance the robot?

  Miles Morales : I never thought I would enjoy seeing that.
