Oh Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...it!

Warning: Spoilers
As Bojack had once eloquently said in "The Telescope" flashback scene, it's starting to hit the fan. For an episode that does not have the main cast in anything, it was pretty well done. To see some of the people that we know and have been wronged by Bojack in one way or another, and to even cross each other's paths just by chance. And these new reporter characters that dress and talk like early 20th century archetypes are fairly engaging as they dig right into Bojack's closet, while not knowing who he is yet. I feel this episode is like the calm before the media storm that is going to hit Bojack in the final episodes, and not only will it ruin his chance at peace and happiness, but it will further damage the relationships he has tried to build up and maintain. I am still rooting for you Bojack, even if there is no happy ending in sight.

BoJack's ghosts

Warning: Spoilers
In an episode with no one from the main cast, we get a glimpse of how everyone else that's been touched by BoJack is doing. Kelsey is struggling to find a spot in the industry, Gina is unable to feel safe in her work environment, Sarah Lynn's death is still present and HollyHock is about to receive some bad news... One thing is clear after this episode: BoJack is finally gonna face the consequences on Janury 31st. Beyond hyped for that.

Didn't see that coming, did you?

After watching the last episode before mid season finale, I thought: ok finally Bojack can get a quantity of solace, but speaking of devil, the finale turns all the tables .At first it seems like it's a B minus episode about sub roles, but it turns out to be the matchmaker for this season despite all that happened in the first seven episodes.

Game of Tones
saullodanielle28 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I'm reminded after serenely finishing the episode The Face of Depression, a line from GoT - "If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention." The part one finale is laying the groundwork to say there may be no happy ending for someone who was so destructive to others, especially one as broken as BoJack. Many times the only way out is through, but it will be interesting to see if he survives or if his end is a starry abyss too. A wonderful, well paved and paced, humor filled episode that stroked our hair while driving the knife in our stomach at the end. Game of tones indeed.

S6, first half: Solidly engaging and clever throughout - just a little lighter on the laughs than I'd like, but hardly a fault

The first set of episodes of the final run of BoJack Horseman sees the titular character in rehab following his meltdown and a personal tragedy. In terms of narrative this gives him plenty of time to reflect upon who he is and who he has been, but instead of anchoring the show there, instead we spend more focused time with other characters and where they are. Given the whole show has been about BoJack first and foremost, and given that this is a strong ensemble show, it is a wise decision and makes for yet another very strong season with plenty to pay attention to.

There are fewer laughs than some other seasons, but still more than enough to do the job. This is not to say there is a gap caused by this, because actually there is a lot of intelligence and insight in the writing as it continues to produce deep characters and characterisation, while at the same time having plenty of fun characters and scenes. The voice cast remains impressive on paper and in reality - and for the main ones it must be hard knowing that such well-formed characters will soon be coming to an end.

The last couple of seasons have been terrific, and this one is no exception. It offers no suggestion that it will do anything other than bow out in the same way.

The past lurking in the dark!
and_mikkelsen28 February 2024
This episode was a complete surprise, and kept evolving in ways that had me like.. oh.. laybe this wont have a happy endning after all!

In the last episode, BoJack met peace with himself and the things he did! Now.. that peace could be threatened, when your past deeds are dug up!

The episode did not feature BoJack, but the writting was superb as it feels like things are coming together! The final scene was really tense! I was like.. oh.. oohhh. OHHHH!!

Now "Escape from L. A" got even darker!

I guess sometimes.. even if you make peace with yourself.. who is to say others will make peace with you? Truely sad.

Well I was hopping that everything what was in the past still be there. Not sure if they had to take this story and drag BoJack down...

What a mess
k-man-37 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The series is brilliant but the mid season finale of the swan song season is A real mess. They focus on all the minor characters and give them a mostly uninteresting story. Some sort of spoof on 1940s comedies tossed in too which goes no where.

Getting there

The best episode of this season so far, but still weak. Support irrelevant characters are still boring and taking too much time. I'd have liked more of the director story rather than those two stupid reporters.
