- Original Cut, theatrical version - this versions contains a different score, and in addition so throw away scenes during the theater search. It also combined two scenes into one in that while dealing with one of the injured survivors, one of the healthy ones taunted the zombies awaiting the survivors outside. This version also contained a lot more language and a completely different color scheme.
- Version 2, film festival cut, included a re-cut ending, and 70% of the films score was replaced. This version also separated the taunting of the zombies from the scene dealing with one of the injured survivors. Now those scenes play as written, separated from each other by 5 minutes of running time and other scenes. This version also included modifications to the rape scene and first zombie attack, and included a new scene of characters seen earlier in the movie stranded by an inoperable pick-up truck. This version was also re-color corrected to remove as much saturation as possible, almost making the film B&W which was an homage to Night of the Living Dead (1968)
- DVD/Blu-Ray Version (International) - Clocking in at 83 Minutes, this removes the Helena, Hussy of Horror Intro from the film, and also expands the sequence of the first zombie attacks within the film by 30 seconds. DVD/Blu-Ray (USA) CLocks in at 86 Minutes and keeps the Helena, Hussy of Horror Intro along with the added 30 second expansion into the first zombie attack sequence.
- HD DVD Version - Running time at 82:34, the reason for the shorter length is that director Gary Ugarek removed the Helena, Hussy of Horror introduction from the beginning of the film. On the Limited Edition HD DVD release, the Helena introduction is a now an option, thus shortening the films running time by 3 minutes. The film was re-mastered and re-color corrected for the HD DVD release resulting in a brand new master. The HD DVD release also changes the films title and copyright card that appears at the end of the film. It states above the films title "Extended Unrated Director's Cut".
- Version 4 - For the re-release of the film in 2010 Director Gary Ugarek re-edited a small portion of the film. He removed a majority of the static close-up shots during the government meetings and changed them out with mid-wide dolly track shots. Also, another zombie attack originally deleted from the film was added back in along with deleted footage of just zombies walking around. The new version of the film runs 3 minutes longer than the previous releases, including the HD DVD version and is marketed as "Deadlands 2: Trapped - The Extended Directors Cut" Gary Ugarek has stated this will be the final edit the film will ever receive.
