Warning: Spoilers
In all episodes there's some questionable things going on, you know, psycho-problems vs supernatural stuff. And I truly believe some of the people in the episodes - if it comes to the supernatural part - have seen or experiences some stuff that they can't explain, which can be very scary, and is also scary to watch in these re-productions.
This case however, to me, is clearly a case of someone who made up a ghost, to blame for everything she did. She set the house on fire herself, she tried to drown her own nephew, she tried to commit suicide probably because she couldn't live with her self no longer (after all she's done), and even tried to kill her husband.
On top of it all, if you look at the daughter, whilst telling about her ghost-encounters; she's constantly looking at her mother, as if she's scared of what mother would do, if she told the story wrong. I bet you all, she indoctrinated her daughter and makes her tell ghost stories too, to make her story seem (more) legit, and cover up for her obvious crimes.
It's indeed pure narcissism, to allow Netflix to tell your so-called 'truth,' and think you'll get away with it. Wake up people, there is no demon that did these things, Elle is the demon.
