On Saturday, 16th November 2019, BBC One and Remarkable Television announced that a second series of the British version of the international hit game show has been commissioned, to be produced and broadcast in 2020. Danny Dyer and Angela Rippon are confirmed as continuing their roles as presenter and question narrator for series two.
On Thursday, 11th March 2021, BBC One and Remarkable Television announced that the British version of the game show will return for a 12-episode fourth series in 2021, including more celebrity specials.
The future of the British version of the game show is in serious doubt after Danny Dyer reportedly stepped down as host. The actor had previously announced that he had declined a new contract from the BBC for his role in Eastenders and it is thought that he stepped down as host of The Wall at the same time. It is understood that the BBC were considering casting a replacement for Dyer but that that is now not going to happen and the game show has been "shelved" for the time being. Dyer has since announced that he is working on a Sky Television drama and has been announced as one of the hosts (alongside comedian Ellie Taylor) of "Cheat" a new game show for Netflix.
