If you watched the Sopranos, you know how unlikable and irritating the character Ralphie Cifaretto was. Couldn't wait until he got "whacked" and we wouldn't have to experience this annoying pest anymore.
Daisy Jones is equally annoying: quarrelsome without reason, narcissistic, and self-righteous. These qualities really come out in episode 5 and you'd think that there would be an exit in the works for such a dislikable character. Unfortunately, there is not. In fact, Daisy never pays any price for her caustic personality; it's clear she needs no one yet everybody else needs her. She writes better lyrics, where Billy is apparently inept. She's the leader that the band members always wanted. Their producer recognizes that the band will go nowhere without her presence. "Daisy, you make everything better" is what she is told in episode 6.
While the period sets, clothes, and music are all still great, it's clear that Daisy will be the Mary Sue of this series after you watch Track 5. She will have no flaws she needs help with, is a prodigy at everything, and will have the best comeback lines should any other character object to her ego.
Where's Tony Soprano and his bowling ball bag when we need him?
