Warning: Spoilers
Brilliant episode. We see Lucifer go full detective style, Pete showing off his creepiness, acting like dexter and an amazing fight and an unexpected ending. I didn't like Maze working with Michael but it had to be a 2-on-2 fight or else Michael wouldn't have stood a chance. And then GOD arrives. Finally, God as a main character. I love the God Johnson episode so this will be even more amazing. Can't wait for Part 2.
Lucifer is back !!!

Warning: Spoilers
So after a long wait season 5 is finally here.
Before I start, I read in a previous review that the start of the season was a bit slow. Well in my opinion bringing Michael in the first episode and exposing him by the second episode itself wasn't slow at all.
Now talking about Deckerstar, after very long 4 seasons they finally did the deed and it was epic. Wish there was some more of it. My only complaint in this department is that after everything they have gone through together, why Chloe still has doubts about Lucifer's intentions. Other than that this first part was mostly in right direction for their relationship.
Now coming to the celestials, I have mixed feelings about Michael. I had hoped he would be more brawls than brains and given that his endgame is still unclear I don't know how to feel about his mental manipulation of everyone around Lucifer. But if he really did have a hand in getting Charlie sick, I already hate his guts. There is no redemption for him.
Lucifer is as always a mumbo jumbo in emotional department but mostly he has been pretty advanced than other seasons. The driven, determined and focused investigation of the Whisperer case showed a new side of him. This shows how much Chloe actually means to him and what would happen to him without her.
Maze wants to have a soul. What does soul mean ? According to the series the celestials don't feel what humans feel. On the contrary Lucifer feels love & Amenadiel feels the responsibility of being a parent, so Maze wants to have a soul of herself too. But Maze already feels abandonment of her mother and Lucifer, friendship towards Linda, Ella and Chloe, responsibility towards Trixie. Isn't that possible only if she had a soul ? But without retrospection she once again falls for the antagonist's words without any serious thought.
Now lastly God !!!! It was in news before that God would make an entrance in this season and he did. But given just 8 episodes to go and the way he gave the dialogue," Children, you know I don't like when my children fight", it seems like there is going to be some conflict between the children and God and he would have to pick a side. And we all know he will be #TeamLucifer in the end. ;)
Seems like next half of the season would be a giant roller coaster of more manipulations and betrayals. Given that there is another season coming up, I don't think there will be much dwelving into the issues between Lucifer and God. Let's wait and watch.
My ratings- S05E08- 9.8
S05 Part 1- 9

OH MY DAD (part 1 review)

Warning: Spoilers
Whilst part 1 of season 5 was a bit of a slow burner, feeling as if it was going back to its season 1-3 days, each episode kept developing the overall storyline. This episode in particular was a perfect mid season finale left us on a major cliff hanger, with each character taking what seems to be definitve sides. The final fight scene was very well executed and choreographed, hinting that part 2 of this season would delve deeper into the father-son relationship between God and his children.
While this first half of the season may haved not reach the same hights as season 4, it shows glimpses of a so far very good season of lucify that is still saving it's best for last.

What An Episode To End On!
Adam-0926522 August 2020
This first half of Season 5 has just been excellent. The introduction of the character Michael and Tom's portrayal of him throughout was on point. The 'It never ends well for the Chicken' episode was a little random but if we was to find a little connection i suppose it focused on Maze's background with her mother.
Let's talk about this episode though. What a cliff-hanger! The whole final scene was a total jaw drop, tension! I was actually nervous what would happen. I don't want to spoil, i just want to thank Netflix for saving this show it is thriving better than ever. Towards the end of season 3 and all of season 4 were great but something tells me season 5 will top them both. Can not wait for the rest of the episodes.

Just let Ella know already.

First off, I agree with most of the reviewers that this episode is amazing and can't wait for the second half.
However, shouldn't we let Ella know about the whole celestial beings already? I understand that she is going have a hard time dealing with what happened in this episode, but it kills me to think that she is now the only one that doesn't know about this angel-and-demon thing. Isn't she part of the team too?

This season was great...It was so good like season 4? I dont think so S4 was spectacular all of his episodes...But this season has 2-3 best episodes of the series and 1 of them is that...It was like a rollercoaster that it only goes up and IM SO MAD cause when it ends i wanted episode 9 right away...I mean the screenplay and most of all the direction of this episode its just phenomenal...And that cliffhanger at the end...Just bring S5b asap

Warning: Spoilers
Everything I was beginning to doubt about this series after the previous episode disappeared after watching this one. That ending battle scene was just everything. I'm disappointed in Maze for changing alliances yet again, but I can't blame her after Lucifer's condescending dismissal. Michael's American accent really sounds familiar to me but I just can't place who he sounds like. It sucks that Pete ended up being the serial killer I thought he was after he first appeared, but as for the baddie-of-the-week, it was a decent filler. The ending reveal was priceless. I do think it was Lucifer who stopped time, his last desperate attempt at keeping his shield up. Dan was in the episode, I think. Too busy directing, I guess, but after watching it I completely forgive him.
I truly regret starting the series a couple of weeks ago and wish I would have held off because waiting for new episodes to be released is my personal hell loop. Man, this was a fabulous episode!

Warning: Spoilers
The first part of this season covered a lot of time on the feelings of Lucifer towards Chloe and the last two episodes focused on a serial killer on the loose. I have to admit the serial killer plot wasn't the best mainly because it felt kind of copied from Dexter (Ice pick killer) and thus was predictable. Having said this, the last 20 mins just blew my mind. Tom Ellis played both the hero and villain perfectly and the entire season was building up for Mazikeen to join the deceptive Michael. The last scene was as beautiful as when we saw Lucifer's wings for the first time. Finally they've introduced God's character and I can't wait for the next part of this season!!

I'm loving Season 5 and the chemistry is wonderful. The police cases seem to have taken a back seat and are acting as a vehicle to move the stories of the main players forward, more than in previous seasons.
The focused episodes on Maze and Linda are great, but please, can we cut Ella some slack, he was perfect for her until his passion for hydroponics is revealed.
Looking forward to part 2

Seriously did no one see this coming? First time he showed up, was pretty obvious. Seems like the same person wrote all the reviews. This season has not been that great....... Too much crap going on, and did Dan piss off the writers? He had great character development previous to this season. Now with the soap opera twin thing going on........ Not even sure how much Netflix had to pay out for some of these reviews, that or people are very easily entertained.
binge-watched it in a day!

So far, this season has been exceptionnally good, I really loved the characters development and the relationships between them. Nice balance of humour, drama, action, romance and investigation.

HOW FAR THIS SHOW HAS COME
lisadewaal-9810423 August 2020
After so many episodes, so much exploration of characters, so many story arcs and relationships formed and destroyed, I didn't think ANYTHING in Lucifer would bring back the same feelings of excitement I used to have for this show. But HELL was I wrong.
This entire season has been the absolute PEAK of Lucifer's history so far. It has completely found its way back to being groundbreaking, heart wrenching, epic and incredibly exciting. The pacing has become perfect, the revelations and plot points no longer dawdle. It's one crucial event after the other and I don't know how the writers managed to do that, but I will tell you that it was AMAZING to experience. Everything falls into place perfectly as new characters are added. And the visual effects!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes while I was watching this episode. It really shows you how far this show has come.
Netflix has not only revived Lucifer. It has ENHANCED it and given it so much more.

Once again they give Maze the same old storyline, she's my favourite and all the character development is thrown out. They just keep recycling her to do the same old things. She was whining a lot in this episode and that's not the Maze I love. They never seem to make her happy and I thought all the progress she did just cancelled it all out. Made me realise it's always been the same.
As for Lucifer he's so self obsessed, vain and selfish. When his brother was trying to talk about his baby and his problems he was only bothered about his as usual. And he's always been that way but this episode made me realise that he's more annoying than ever. I never really noticed it until now but all his ramblings are just annoying. He never listens or cares about anyone except for when it involves him or Chloe. He interrupts everyone never lets anyone get a word in. I really didn't like him in this episode.
As for Ella, she's underused and recycled as well. There's so much they could do but it's just always the same.
Chloe as well. I thought lucifer did tell her he loved her? I'm not interested in the relationship side. Again, it's just the same cycle with those two.
I did like Dan in this episode and everyone else in this episode was great especially Amenadiel and the episode was good overall except for a few of the characters actions.
