I'm not including any spoilers here. I will only say that just about everything comes to a head in this final episode of the third season. Patti is the consummate paragon of damaged goods. She is, however, one of those people who never compromises when she feels she is right. That said, she is about as cruel as one can get. When her son's love interest reneges on her agreement, we know this is not going to end well. The Tobins continue their efforts to maintain a themselves. The problem is that Patty has found ways to increase their in-fighting. Joe is a dangerous man, betraying everyone because he felt he was the injured party. So many secrets; so much deception. Frobisher also makes some serious mistakes. It will be interesting to see the next set of episodes. Patty made a horrible decision when she was young. Ellen is moving toward her future with some heavy questions. And, of course, we already knew Tom was dead.

OMG, such an epic episode, and such a fitting season resolution!

After being blown away with seasons 1 and 2, my husband and I had to chuckle about Martin Short and Lily Tomlin starring in season 3. We are accustomed to seeing them as accomplished comedians, BUT THEY BLEW US AWAY! I am just so pleased and impressed with their dramatic acting, and their contribution to making this season great. Very sad to see that Tate Donovan is not starring in the next season; I certainly wish him all the best. He brought great acting to all 3 seasons, and balance to some of the more, shall we say, unbalanced characters?!
