Three ex-cons work as movers. Unfortunately, the house they are doing today contains some unexpected elements. Low brow attempt at a creature feature fails to evoke a true sense of that, and the plot is even murkier as it blends in an unnecessary twist element. Some attempt at social commentary goes poorly as the movie doesn't hold enough smarts to replicate the basics of the genre it is trying to be. Not horrid but nothing really much to see.

I was semi-interested when it started. Creepy old dude who turns out be a nazi.
That's the only reason I'm giving this a 3 star rating.
But the whole movie was just whack.
The acting was horrendous, well besides the old dude. He did an okay job.
The whole movie is just full of plot-holes and just plain...oddness. Vern has all these people he experimented on and all of them are crazy dog people besides this one girl (or girls I should say)? If Vern had to move because "too many Jewish people had gone missing" I would have to assume those are the people he experimented on...and suddenly they're crazy creatures with no sense of self?... Whatever. The movie was just dumb. The best part for me was when Schill rescues Imani from the operating table and after she punches Vern they hug and just let Vern get away :')
It's a miss. Big shame.

I was hoping the reviews were wrong but alas they aren't and this is a sad miss of a horror movie.
It wasn't terrible, just bad in lots of ways and quite ludicrous that it veers towards parody. Not totally wasted but close to it.

I've got one question
LucaMR199125 March 2021
Was that supposed to be a parody? Cause aside from some decent practical effects, which managed to be genuinely creepy, the characters were the most stereotypical and racially charged I've ever seen. Other than that, the movie had horrible acting, uneven pacing, a largely uninteresting story and quite a few unnecessary and fake jump scares.
Good try.......but still a swing and a miss

While I applaud this movie for being different than the typical shudder slasher or any other "horror" movie in the last 20 years it still misses the mark. Im a great fan of 70's 80's horror but since then nothing has really hit the spot. The female actor totally over acts her character. I thought all the other actors were fine. Not a bad plot. The human experiment monsters and double sisters were done well. But just like the horror movies that have been coming out lately it sucks you in with promosing start and fails to deliver any kind of twist or purpose for why it was made.
Skip it

Another Shudder Dud

Why are shudder originals so bad? Why did this movie need four writers? That's right, FOUR WRITERS!! You'd be forgiven for thinking they found the script in a bin.
This kind of thing has been done better elsewhere. All the lazy racial cliches and stereotypes are present and correct which is what I've come to expect from shudder. Not quite sixth form drama level as Netflix but not far off. The characters are so one dimensional that it's impossible to care about what happens to them.
As with Netflix, If it's a shudder original then it's probably gonna suck and this is no exception.

Three former prison inmates have a moving company called Second Chance Moving. They get a gig to move Vern Mueller. They are instructed to stay out of the attic and basement (guess that would make the title too long). They are paid extra to move everything by morning but begin to explore more than move. Thirty minutes into the film we know Vern is most likely a Nazi, they suspect monsters in the attic and they are being watched with cameras.
This is another comedy-horror with more emphasis on the horror. The film creates characters and I liked the one played by Morgan Alexandria.
Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

VERY VERY VERY BAD ACTING !

Plot is easily guessed, but that's not the downfall of this movie. What really brings this movie down to unbearable to watch is the acting and the logic in this movie. Very very bad acting. I can't get through more than 30 minutes of this movie.
Bloody fantastic

The other reviews have no taste whatsoever in horror movies. They must be millennial's or political correct people who have no taste at all It's very original and great acting.
I disagree with the reviews, I loved everything about this movie 🎥 Shutters original always deliver great horror movies. Me and my friend enjoyed it very much it had gore and heroes and great horror. Also stay watching until after the credits there's a little surprise, I won't tell you any spoilers you would have to watch to find out. Stick with it and I hope you enjoy it. It's not a blockbuster so you don't have to be so hash on your reviews.thanks guys.

I see what they were going for! It MOSTLY works!

Only problem is getting through the first 40 minutes of the movie filled with lots of "fluff", but once it gets going, it gets going! I see this is Jerren Lauder's directorial debut, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt given what looks like a low budget, it gets good at the end. Stick around for an after credit scene!
Horrible

Just when I thought it couldn't get any more ridiculous, it did. All the way till the end. Heck, even after the end! That's right, post credit ridiculousness! Not 1, but 2 post credit scenes!!
I was frozen in awe after the end. Good thing, or I would've missed out on those extra scenes. This has to be a parody. HAS TO BE.
Nazi zombies, a girl named Anne locked in the attic.
That's it, I can't waste anymore time with this movie.
Watch it to laugh at, nothing else.

Should be called: Don't watch this Stupid Movie! :o
midnitepantera2 May 2021
I watched this for the cool, creepy house, only reason you see 2 stars instead of zero above. The acting was not very good, the story just got more and more stupid as it went along. Cliché bad horror choices, Like insisting on sticking around, instead of running for your life when things start getting weird and creepy. Pass on this, could have been interesting, but skipped on straight to stupid and unbelievable. :(

The very first thing I noticed and loved about the film was the score. It had a lot of Charles Bernstein's A Nightmare on Elm Street in it. In fact there were a few seconds or so where I think it did take some of the notes from the Bernstein score. That set the tone for the movie and it got me right into it. It made me feel that something ominous was about to take place.
Unfortunately the film does start off really poorly and unfortunately that does have to do with the female lead who was like nails on a chalkboard to me. I just didn't care for her character or the actors interpretation of how it was written. But as things move along and the three characters get into the house to start moving, the writer and the director smartly start peeling the onion for us. We get to know a bit about the characters and their background and this lays the tracks for the meat and potatoes of the movie.
We meet the owner of the house named Vern Mueller. He's a very old looking gentleman with a very thick German accent and right away he makes you feel uncomfortable. The actors do a great job of conveying this unease as we are living vicariously through them. They are offered an insane some of money to make sure this enormous house is cleaned out in one night. So off they go to work trying to dismantle the house as quickly as they can. But then along the way strange things are noticed. There's an old German lock on one of the doors and the movers are told that they are not to go in the attic and not to go in the basement.
I won't give any more of the plot away than that because once you start putting things together and you realize who people really are and what their end game really is, the film does a great job of making you feel uneasy. The film is only about 80 minutes long and I enjoyed the last half of it immensely. There's some really good practical effects and some fantastic Tom savini like Gore. There's no CGI from what I can tell and just some good old-fashioned makeup and prosthetics.
Most of the reviews here seem to be either from people who really dislike it or just from people that were a bit apathetic to it. I definitely enjoyed the film and I'd recommend it.

kathmummybear12 March 2022
The whole film is badly thought out ,the dialogue and the actions of the characters make no sense at all im not sure if it's the direction or the editing which really see it lingering on scenes that go no where and add nothing .don't waste your time it's dreadful.
