overcoming fears and getting the most out of life
dskessler15 February 2023
I can always watch a film with people talking about the things that awaken life in them. Don't assume this film is only for women or bike enthusiasts. Discovering passion and what brings joy in one's life is universal, and seeing the joy these women found through motorcycles and the motorcycle community is infectious. This film should be seen as a call to anyone watching to seek out that thing that can give you a new perspective on the world, conquer your fears, and allow you to experience life more completely.

It was a pleasure spending time with these womena and I comment the filmmakers for their effort.

A High Octane, Life-Affirming, Female Led Ride for Adrenaline Junkies!
nathan-3071510 February 2023
From the first few seconds Indy Saini's wonderful movie grabs your attention as you metaphorically get right there on the ride with her and for the next 75 minutes she expertly navigates you through the culture of women who love motorcycles. It takes a special kind of director to illicit the vulnerability and sometimes heartbreaking honesty from her many and varied woman interviewees each of whom has unique and deeply personal reasons for their common passion for bikes. However, this documentary is also a masterclass in DIY filmmaking and the throughline of this story is Saini's own journey around America, alone on her Indian Scout, braving the elements, to get the story on video. In the process, she deftly subverts the Icarian narrative of self-destruction that we subconsciously attach to stories of men and motorcycles. Under her careful control, like Daedalus and his wax wings, the motorcycle is a life-affirming means to freedom and empowerment.

Inspiring!

Great photography. Great characters. But most of all, this film was very inspiring. Having seen this film, I want to make sure I am living the life I really want, despite my fears. I really appreciated the diversity of the characters and types of bikers, and the deep life-stories the filmmaker gave. I liked seeing what each biker carried with her, and I liked their broader stories. Often, they took up biking after a parent had warned them against it -- and against doing other things they wanted in life. Often, the things they were warned against were "not for women." And then the stories of the women who came back from terrible accidents!

very motivating

This documentary is incredible. Listening to people share about their passion is so motivating to me. I loved seeing all the different bikes and hearing each of their stories was incredible. This film makes me want to get back on a bike and hit the open road. The cinematography is great and I love how the put everyones stories together.

This movie will motivate you to spend time with the passions in your life no matter what it is. You do not have to be into motorcycles to enjoy this movie.

I highly recommend this documentary to everyone that has a passion not just motorcyle enthusiastics. Greart job!

Life with Passion
catheraneskillen26 February 2023
This is an excellent film with a heart. It was riveting to watch as each woman in this documentary revealed her inner most truth. Though differing in backgrounds, ages, and experiences, the common denominator was their passion for motorcycles and what they overcame to do what they love. Their openness was like looking into their souls, very inspiring and a gift to be privy to their life journeys. So many fascinating women like Rosie and Mere and Wendy and all of them really. It made me think about how many people don't follow whatever their passion is and perhaps never live their lives to the fullest. Indy Saini has made an inspirational and artistic documentary. The photography, music, and the editing are first rate. Whether or not you are a motorcyclist, this film should not be missed.

Talk about a vibe movie.
RBIves-202-72535215 February 2023
If you're in the mood for something light and inspiring, look no further. There's not much conflict here, or drama, or worry. What you WILL find instead is a huge group of people throwing you on the back of their bikes and taking you on a tour of the passion that ties them all together. Look, I'm a mid-30s guy, I've never ridden a motorcycle. But I still found the glimpse into this subculture fascinating. Footage of long trips through various locales is so romantic it hurts.

Each of these lovely ladies have had their own journey to this hobby and many of them find different reasons to keep with it. Yet there is a through line that connects all of them. They each have a desire for independence as women. Many of these see this as a challenge to overcome. And for seemingly all of them, they have discovered that riding gives them a sense of freedom and peace that few other things have. Highly recommend if you're in for a doc that explores a little corner of humanity you may not be too familiar with.

A Must Watch for Motorcycle Enthusiasts
kjs11445 April 2023
This documentary, Women in the Front Seat is a fascinating look at the world of motorcycle riding and some of the women who are a part of it. At the start of the movie, the filmmaker herself sets out to ride across the United States on a motorcycle. Her journey is mixed with the stories of different female motorcyclists from all over. The amount of interesting stories and personalities captured in this film is amazing. The cinematography in this movie is excellent. I was particularly impressed by the amount of epic drone footage that was captured for this film, specifically. There is also an inspirational aspect to this movie also, as it will make you want to get out there and try things you've always wanted to do (even if motorcycle riding isn't one of them). Give the one one a watch, it is worth your time!

Tremendous documentary sharing a slice in the life motorcycle lovers and adventure lovers. It goes beyond mere passion for hitting the open road on your favorite bike, but moves deeper into the inner meaning of seeking out new and exciting places and adventures that are edifying and healing. Women in the Front Seat also motivates the viewer to chase their passions and dreams while there is still time. Though the film is a love letter to those with a passions for bikes and charting courses on the open road, its lessons apply universally to fulfill any passion, dream or calling. Combined with a host of colorful characters, sweeping cinematography, and a great sound track, this is a documentary that shapes a viewing experience you won't want to miss!

Exhilarating Tribute to Women on the Road
jae-13375 March 2023
'Women in the Front Seat' is an inspirational look into the lives of women and their profound love of motorcycles that is not just a hobby but an extension of who they are. We follow the director as she set outs on a long road trip on her bike, making pit stops along the way to hear war stories from other female riders that are full of passion, defiance, freedom, resilience, and vulnerability.

This is a film that should resonate with everyone: being scared but doing it anyways, being told you can't do something which only fuels the fire more, and taking charge of your life without permission. These are all relatable situations that we've all experienced in one way or another, and the film brilliantly strings together all these multiple perspectives in a way that results in an empowering and liberating mosaic of motorcycle culture.

Well done documentary!
julianvhampton23 February 2023
Great visuals and an inspirational story. Not just for someone who loves motorcycles, but learning the inspiration behind women that ride, overcome challenges, and share the joy of the ride is incredible. As someone who does enjoy motorcycles, seeing the journey of these riders and how they overcome the crashes and broken bones, but never a broken spirit of the ride. The variety in the stories let the viewer connect with each rider, their individual story and their collective trials were something to remember. Great job by the team responsible for this project. It was a well done documentary!.

Solid doc with a compelling subject
baccaruda118 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Women and their adventures on motorcycle trips is the overall theme of this documentary, and the concept works very well to convey multiple stories and an eclectic collection of real-life characters who find meaning in their travels. This is clearly a passion project of the director, who does an outstanding job of presenting many angles of this interesting subject. Documentaries have lately become a go-to genre for my wife and I, as their narratives seem to carry far more weight than most movies these days. This film was an enjoyable watch, and we found it informative and entertaining. And after watching, I'm compelled to get my next bike!
