Netflix has included another animated series in its catalog and this time, and this time it’s the rebirth of an extremely nostalgic franchise, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. Lara Croft has been an insanely popular character and she deserves all kinds of adaptations.
However, the recent animated series teased by Netflix has received some criticism due to its Japanese-inspired art style. While it looks good and has good action scenes, you can’t help but shake off the feeling that it is trying to imitate anime.

Following on from the shocking revelation that the love of Laurent Thierry's life – Dorothy – is alive, the film follows the amnesiac as she lives her life ignorant of her past as a con artist. However, it appears that the world of scams and heists is never too far away as the protagonist is unwittingly dragged back into this world after thwarting a con being played on her elderly adopted mother in Taipei.

The year 2023 was an embarrassment of riches when it came to animation. Movies like “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” became massive commercial successes and crossed the billion-dollar mark at the box office, while movies like “Nimona” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” hit big with audiences and critics. There were films that boasted wildly different aesthetics and showed the power of the animation medium, like “Blue Giant” and “The First Slam Dunk.” We also saw the return of legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki, who gave us his most personal film to date with “The Boy and the Heron.”
That’s a lot for 2024 to live up to — luckily, it seems the year will bring with it a healthy mix of big studio franchises and more grown-up animated fare. There are still big and highly anticipated animated movies slated to be released in 2024. Here is a rundown of 2024 animated releases with updates to come.

Ever since it jumped on the scene with "Devilman Crybaby," Netflix has become one of the strongest anime distributors in the West, and the only real competition to Crunchyroll since Funimation essentially shut down.
Since then, we've had some miraculous license acquisitions like "Neon Genesis Evangelion," as well as truly unique originals like "Kotaro Lives Alone" and "Great Pretender." The streamer's latest, an anime original movie titled "Bubble," is a fresh new take on both "The Little Mermaid" and sports anime which boasts an impressive crew made up mostly of the same people that made "Attack on Titan"...

Many anime fans are familiar with Studio Ghibli, or Toei Animation, Production I.G., and in recent years maybe Madhouse or even Mappa. Wit Studio, however, is a name not many people know — but they should. The anime studio has produced some of the best anime shows of the past decade, having launched into the scene with the first three seasons of smash hit "Attack on Titan." In the years since, the studio has also produced stellar shows like the heist adventure series "Great Pretender," or the historical Viking epic "Vinland Saga."

It’s (close enough to) the beginning of a new year and that means a whole brand new year of upcoming anime. Last year we got Jujutsu Kaisen, Dorohedoro, Great Pretender, Apare-Ranman!, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, and so many more that won at the 2020 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, so sure enough, we’re in for a great year of brand new anime releases ahead of us. Some of these upcoming anime have begun their release already, but will continue to be released through the rest of the year, so we’re definitely not counting them out! Hopefully Covid-19 won’t impact these releases

This Great Pretender season 2 review contains no spoilers.
There’s absolutely nothing like being left in a dumbfounded stupor after a multi-stage con has been properly executed. Stories that revolve around conmen and grifters operate with a very specific kind of jubilation and when they’re done right there is no greater high. A perfectly planned con is no different than an immaculate magic trick or an effective third act twist. As much as cons involve the stealing of something valuable, they’re even more concerned with an understanding of human nature.
Great Pretender’s previous episodes have set a very high standard for this series’ ability to tell layered stories that know how to trick and delight the audience with a revolving door of plot twists. Great Pretender season 2, “Wizard of Far East,” truly goes for broke and continues to use intricate cons as insightful character studies into deeply flawed and lost individuals.

November is among the least respected months on the calendar. Falling between objectively the two best holidays, November is usually all about recovering from the spookies of Halloween while getting ready for the good vibes the holiday season. For its new releases of November 2020, Netflix has decided to just go ahead and get Christmas over with.
Netflix has already released a list of all its holiday offerings for November and December, and it’s those holiday offerings that take the most prominence this month. The biggest project of all of these is undoubtedly The Christmas Chronicles 2, which premieres on Nov. 25. In this holiday sequel, Kurt Russell reprises his role as Hot Santa Claus who must save the season once again.
On the non-holiday side of things, Netflix’s Emmy-winning series The Crown returns for season 4 on Nov. 15. And speaking of things that desperately want to win awards, Ron Howard...

That’s enough to warrant a subscription on its own, but as usual, Netflix never stops and today bring us a content drop that contains a handful of new things you might want to check out when you’re done watching all of the stuff added earlier in the month.
For one, German series Biohackers joins the platform today. This conspiracy drama poses a lot of questions about how far scientists are willing to go and whether there’s even a...

Netflix‘s new releases for August 2020 should be a hell of a good time.
How else are we supposed to describe the month that features the long-awaited arrival of Lucifer season 5? Yes, ol’ Lucy finally returns on August 21 for what is now the penultimate season of the show.
While Lucifer is the main highlight of Netflix’s original offerings on August, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some other intriguing options to stream. The Rain season 3 arrives on August 6, Wizards: Tales of Arcadia on August 7, and Teenage Bounty Hunters on August 14. That’s not even to mention a potential blockbuster movie in the form of the Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt starring Project Power.
In August, Netflix also continues its high-profile poaching of other worthwhile properties as well. August sees the arrival of both The Legend of Korra and Cobra Kai, opening up two worthwhile series to an even wider streaming audience.

Netflix is adding a seriously impressive line-up of content across August. In a bid to keep you indoors and out of the sun, the streaming giant has got a wide range of titles coming to its library next month, including various highly-anticipated original movies and TV shows, as well as countless beloved films that are being added – or are returning – to the site.
We’ve previously had a couple of updates on what to expect in August, but this is the full official list of everything that’s due on Netflix over the course of next month. As we already knew, some of the highlights include Jamie Foxx superhero vehicle Project Power and the fifth and penultimate season of DC’s Lucifer. Now, however, we can see there’s a lot more to look forward to besides just that.
The first day of August, in particular, brings a whole heap of titles.
