- Blood particles when enemies are shot along with blood marks on walls behind them. They can also be blown up into chunks of flesh with the super shogun and explosives. Some enemy designs also feature blood on them. There is also a level where many of the rooms and arenas are made of flesh.

- Frequent alcohol usage, granted it is up to you if you drink them but it is still worth mentioning since there is usually some alcohol bottles in each level. Also if you drink to much you get drunk and your vision is shaky.

- This game's atmosphere and theme can be extremely scary at times.

- Towards the beginning you are introduced to an invisible enemy that makes bone chilling grunts that get louder the closer it gets to you (you can see a little blood stain on the ground to know it's presence). When it attacks you or when you shoot it it uncloaks and makes a terrifying scream, easily the scariest enemy in the game.
