“Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” encountered a sluggish start on Day 1 due to delayed announcements of screens, show timings, and ticket bookings, which were only revealed late on Thursday.
However, the film witnessed a remarkable upturn on Day 2, with a staggering 104.55% surge in business, primarily in Maharashtra. Friday saw earnings of ₹1.10 crores, escalating to ₹2.25 crores on Saturday, accumulating a total of ₹3.35 crores in India.
Unlike other films, “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” didn’t utilize the Buy1Get1 ticket offer, reflecting its genuine box office potential. Now, the film needs to expand its reach beyond Maharashtra in the upcoming days, particularly on Day 3 (Sunday) and Day 4 (Holi), to secure a respectable extended weekend total. While the audience feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, translating it into increased footfalls is imperative for sustained success.

Zareen Khan recalls being rejected from a film for looking the way she does. The Bollywood actress says she was bluntly told about the industry perception that pretty girls cannot act.
"It's not just me who has been typecast. I feel every person in this industry gets typecast. When I came out with 'Veer' I was typecast as pretty girl, a girl next door -- just comparisons and everything. So, I did not get enough chances. (Actually) Did not get a chance at all after that. (I was called) Fat, and this and that," revealed Zareen Khan.
She says her dance number "Character dheela" in the Salman Khan-starrer "Ready" somewhat helped in changing perceptions. "People were like, 'she can look like that also. She has lost weight, nice'. Then came 'Hate Story' and people said she is so hot," she recalled.
Still, Zareen was rejected...

It has been over half a decade since she got her mega launch opposite none other than Salman Khan in Veer (2010). While she was much criticized for her bulky frame, she attributed it to the need of the script which required her to eat a lot of chocolates and sweets, and appear on screen as a well-rounded princess from the era gone by. Circa 2015 and Zareen Khan, who has featured in a 100 crore success Housefull 2 and enjoyed a Punjabi hit in Jatt James Bond earlier this year, is all set to change that persona with an erotic musical thriller Hate Story 3. A couple of sizzling promos have already been unveiled and since the film belongs to the erotica genre, it requires Zareen to indulge in skin show for screen, something that she is not minding at all. "I never had any apprehensions around this to begin with as well.

Anil Sharma in a Bollywood Hungama exclusive video interview said that if Veer releases today, it will do roaring business and may cross Rs 200 or even Rs 250 crore within no time. "I've told Eros that they should convert Veer to 3D, if there are some shortcomings I can edit it by 15-20 minutes. Bhai ka aisa time chal raha hai kahan pahuch jayegi picture. He has looked so handsome and he has worked so well," Anil Sharma said.
Veer was an ambitious project written by Salman. It was stated once the movie didn't do well at the Box Office that director Anil Sharma wasn't happy with the lack of creative control. Salman too had made it clear in no uncertain terms that from here on, he will put his feet down when it comes to keeping a check on all the aspects of any of his films and won't compromise come what may.

If one thought that Singh Saab The Great would be all about Sunny Deol's dhai kilo ka haath and some legendary hand pump uprooting moments then well, it is far from being true. She is one of the best actresses in Hindi cinema, and you have seen her in some brilliant films, like Dil Se (her debut), Koi Mil Gaya, Lakshya, Kal Ho Na Ho, Veer Zaara (a personal favorite), and so many more. Of course, we are talking about the great Preity Zinta. The lovely actress has been missing from the silver screen for several years because she took a cricket sabbatical, but now fans can rejoice because she is back with Ishkq in Paris. Preity not only stars in the film, she also produced the rom-com, which is directed by Prem Soni. I got the incredible opportunity to chat with the actress, and even though it was almost midnight and she was at the airport getting ready for an all-night flight, Preity was amazing to talk to. The whole time I was talking with her, while I was doing the transcript...
