Layla binds herself to Tawaret specifically to destroy Ammit, yet when Marc is about to kill Ammit in Harrow's body, she stops him.
Layla became Tawaret's Avatar in order to stop Ammit by trapping her in a mortal vessel, as Horus's Avatar told her that they needed more Avatars to accomplish this. She never actually committed to killing Harrow or Ammit, and may not have made up her mind about it until they were at the point where that was about to happen.

Layla is accidentally pinned to the bottom of an overturned van by one of Moon Knight's crescent-shaped boomerangs. After the fighting is over, she is able to easily dislodge the boomerang and free herself, yet she did not free herself and rejoin the fight at any point prior to that when she would have had ample opportunity.
When Layla is pinned to the overturned van, a man continues to shoot her at point blank range directly in the wing of her costume, which she is using as a shield. If he'd aimed anywhere else he would have been able to injure, possibly kill her.
Last episode, Tawaret told Marc and Steven that even if they managed to pass through Osiris's gate they could not return to the land of the living because their body was dead and could not be healed without Khonshu's power. Here, they pass through Osiris's gate and are returned to life. It is only after they re-awaken in their previously-dead body that Khonshu senses their return and heals the body.
