The trailer for Tini’s new album, Un Mechón de Pelo, starts with the Argentine pop star looking at herself in the mirror with tears in her eyes. She’s holding metal scissors in one hand and a lock of her brown hair in another. A haunting, operatic voice sings in the background while the voice of a little girl screams faintly behind her. Then Tini snips away.
“Sometimes I think I’m crazy. Because I felt crazy,” she recites as tears fall from her eyes. “Crazy like the sea...

Spanish production house Dlo/Magnolia, owned by the giant Banijay Group, has revealed an ambitious TV drama slate, led by psychological thriller series “La Caza. Monteperdido,” a TV adaptation of Agustín Martínez’s best-selling novel “Monteperdido.”
Filming in the Aragonese Pyrenees, the eight-episode, 70-minute high-concept TV drama is scheduled to premiere on Rtve’s flagship channel La 1 in first quarter of 2019.
Under managing director José Manuel Lorenzo, Dlo/Magnolia is upping the ante on TV fiction, underscoring the Banijay Group’s aim of building its scripted offering in Spain, as the superindie continues acquiring production assets to increase its TV drama footprint worldwide.
“After many years focused on TV entertainment, Banijay is betting very seriously on TV fiction. As a traveling companion, I could not find a better one, they help you get the projects moving forward,” Lorenzo said.

At the request of his 11-year-old nephew, Tim McGraw crashed Grassland Middle School’s assembly to tell the kids to be kind to each other and to stand up when someone else gets bullied. He mentioned the sad suicide of Asher Brown by name, and said he had been bullied to death. I think it’s pretty great to see another country star stepping forward like this.

Exclusive: MTV has handed out a pilot presentation order to Patito Feo, a half-hour comedy based on the hugely successful Argentinean format. The adaptation was written by Easy A scribe Bert V. Royal. Feature helmer Andy Fickman (You Again) is in negotiations to direct the project, executive produced by former Reveille and NBC executive Teri Weinberg. Patito Feo (in English, Ugly Duckling) centers on a Mexican teenage girl who moves to Florida with her mother and grandmother only to discover that the reality of high school in America is nothing like she expected when she crosses paths with the Queen Bee and accidentally sets off a war at school. Patito Feo, which has a strong music component, has become an international phenom since the original Argentine teen drama hit the air in 2007. It ran for 300 episodes, spawned a No.1 soundtrack, a sold-out concert tour and a massive merchandising line. It...

Madrid -- A tween telenovela titled "Patito Feo" purportedly has Disney's internationally minded president and CEO Robert Iger agog, knocking the company's franchises like "Hannah Montana" off the top of local ratings and soundtrack charts across southern Europe.
Produced by little-known Buenos Aires boutique Ideas del Sur, with co-production and distribution by Mexico colossus Televisa, the soap is breaking records in Spain, Portugal and Italy and is poised to launch in Greece and Turkey. (TV, home video and merchandising and licensing rights are managed by Madrid-based Elastic Rights in southern Europe.)
Not surprisingly, Disney executives see this not as a one-off phenomenon but rather a trend upon which they can build.
"Patito" boasts a multiplatform marketing campaign with a flourishing merchandising and licensing business. By year's end, there will be 60 licensees in all three southern European territories, including toys, perfume, home decor, suitcases, party goods, food products and apparel.

Madrid -- Disney Channel Spain hit a new high in April, snagging 15.7% of 4-12 year-old children, thanks largely to the season finale of tween telenovela "Patito Feo."
The monthly figure is 0.8 points over the March figure and sets a new channel high for Disney in Spain --where more than 28 million people watched the channel in April.
"Patito Feo," an Argentine telenovela co-produced by Ideas del Sur and Televisa, has become a social phenomenon in Spain, where some 1.2 million people tuned in for the season finale.
According to Kantar Media, 31.4% of 4-12 year-olds watched "Patito" -- rather than the soccer league decisive match between titan Real Madrid and Mallorca, which took only 28.7% of the same audience.
Disney Channel Spain said Tuesday it will run the whole season again, starting immediately, in its regular 9.30 p.m. time slot.

MTV announced a new development slate Tuesday that includes projects from such auspices as Seth Meyers, Jamie Foxx and David Katzenberg.
Additionally, the cable network has handed a pilot order to Mark Burnett's docusoap reality project starring former "Hills" co-star Audrina Patridge and has inked a first-look production deal with actress Emma Roberts and her production company, Bossy Boots Prods., who will create and produce TV projects for the net with her manager/producing partner David Sweeney.
The as-yet-untitled Patridge pilot represents a potential second life for "The Hills" franchise, whose flagship series had a casting shake-up with the departure of lead Lauren Conrad.
The order also continues MTV's relationship with Burnett, who produced the network's Movie Awards this month.
MTV's new series in development include a reinvention of 1980s movie "Teen Wolf"; an animated program from Meyers called "The Awesomes," about a superhero who battles paparazzi; "Warren the Ape,...
