Assassin's Creed Valhalla (2020) takes place in 873 AD. Chronologically speaking, it is the closest to the original Assassin's Creed (2007) in the series' timeline, which takes place in 1191 AD. Valhalla's development team has hinted about an endpoint of coming full circle, since its inception back in 2007. Throughout Valhalla's promotional material, many viewers have pointed out the familiar outfit of a 'Hidden One,' that was nearly identical to the outfit from Assassin's Creed.
This is the fourth game in the Assassin's Creed franchise (Revelations (2011), IV: Black Flag (2013), Origins (2017)) to be directed by the duo of Ashraf Ismail and Darby McDevitt

Gabrielsson & Simon Krogh Stenspil were all in The Last Kingdom playing Cnut, Sigefrid, Haesten, Aethelwold, Guthrum & Dagfinn respectively while Gaia Weiss, Eric Johnson, Charlie Kelly, Diarmaid Murtagh, Kris Holden-Ried, Ragga Ragnars & Einar Selvik appeared in Vikings, playing Thorunn, Erik the Red, Egil the Bastard, Leif, Eyvind, Gunnhild & the Shaman respectively. Erik Madsen appeared in both as Fiske and king Hemming respectively.
