Learn more- Lofty is very enthusiastic about organising the float for the carnival at 1 O'clock, but not everyone shares his enthusiasm. Tony is upset because the float has been vandalised, forcing him to work on it again but has reluctantly agreed to be a Roman General.
Arthur just refuses to be involved but although Pauline worries she is fat - her best assets are all that people notice in her Nellie Guinn costume.
Lou's commode is being utilised as a throne, and Debbie is to play the part of a Black Death victim, but she has bigger things on her mind.
Roy has proposed to her and she tries to get advice about it from Andy, which he doesn't appreciate.
Whilst Naima, Michelle and Sharon are getting ready, Naima tells them about Wicksy making a pass at her. Sharon has decided to 'arrange' herself a boyfriend and when Andy's name comes up, Mary appears to get jealous.
Tony's stint as a Roman General is interrupted by a very upset Hannah and Cassie arriving in a cab. They have run away from Neville, Hannah's partner who has been violent towards Cassie. It comes out that he has whipped her with a riding whip and was responsible for her broken arm.
Tony wants to go and sort Neville out, and vows to kill him, but Hannah stops him - and he breaks down and cries. Later he tells Kelvin he will be back in a minute, and disappears.
Lofty is upset with Debbie looking too healthy, but Michelle comes to the rescue, and Arthur is shanghaied and made to dress as a Roman General to take Tony's place. Den takes his role as a highwayman a bit far, but they are ready and on the float, just in time.
Angie invites a troubled Andy for a drink, and after a bit of flirting - Andy tells Angie that he knows about her overdose, before they are interrupted by Den who has snuck off the float and returned to the pub early.
Whilst everyone else enjoys the parade, the very pregnant and glum Michelle and Lou babysit for Pauline and Arthur. Michelle expresses and interest in having a home birth, but Lou talks her out of it.
Apparently, the baby's father agreed with Lou on the home birth subject, and Michelle realises as she speaks about him to Lou - that she has feelings for him.
Hannah gets stuck in to trying to clean up Tony's flat, but is still very emotional.
Ali and Sue are disappointed with the lack of custom at the Cafe, but the parade comes around again so they take the sandwiches they made outside take advantage of the gathered crowd. Angie gives out free drinks, much to Den's discust.
Den grabs a quick quiet word with Michelle, who tells him that she has decided to have the baby in hospital and thanks him for "that little chat" they had and Den says he will do "anything he can to help".
Tony turns up and is in high sprits after apparently having been shopping for things Cassie and Hannah will need - but he is nursing a cut lip.
