"The (Motion Picture) Academy never promised to be fair . . . "

Warning: Spoilers
. . . or balanced, or even rational in awarding Oscars, is the contention of 19 animators, cartoon directors, and animation historians during this hour-long documentary, DRAWN FOR GLORY. The consensus Top 17 animated shorts OF ALL TIME were NOT EVEN NOMINATED for a Golden Statuette, and you have to scroll down to #24 on the cartoon quality\audience popularity integrated listing to find the "cream of the crop" among the "official" annual champions. As Donald Trump would say, "The System is rigged, and the fix is in." Since cartoons lack iconic live-action actors capable of raising a stink such as Jada Pinkett Smith, to campaign against crass injustice in the Court of Public Opinion, Hollywood's card-carrying Rich People's Party members felt no qualms against unleashing their Fascist Terrorist Tactics against Free-Thinking animators, while elevating substandard trash to the top spot on Tinseltown's Awards Podium. Politics at its worse got so bad that few quality short cartoons were made after the mid-1950s, and for the last 40 years there's been an unwritten rule that the Oscar for Best Animated Short is like a Junior (or Special) Olympics Trophy--preferably reserved for foreigners with unpronounceable names.
