Considered one of the most influential shorts in the history of Hungarian animation. It made an entire generation of artists realize that animation can be produced in a variety of art styles that don't have to conform to ideas of realism or to Western-style cartoon slapstick comedy. Following its release, the Hungarian Pannonia Film Studio became the leaders of experimental, abstract, surreal, psychedelic and artistic animation in Europe. Among others, this short had a great effect on the works of Hungary's most famous animator Marcell Jankovics. It also eventually lead to a divide between animators who wanted to produce artistic, expressive cartoons and the mainstream audience who were interested in more Disney-style animated works with simpler stories and less experimental art.
