I'd give it a look - The child actors are pretty good!!
mja581 May 2021
This was sort of a re-hash of "The Bad Seed", but using a psychological slant for the kid's behavior.

Look for:

1. Ella talking like a regular kid - when her father isn't around.

2. Ella's friend Kinsley also talking like a regular kid - and her interaction with Cecily when she questions her about Ella.

3. The nasty neighbor that gets what's coming to him.

4. The rather poignant ending scene.

I didn't have any drinks while watching - and I still thought it was pretty good!!

I think the main actress "Ella" is racist!
newpath-5428112 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I watched the film twice. The first time I didnt notice anything. But watching it a second time, I noticed that "Ella" was mean and hated all the black people in the movie. She even tried to kill the black guy "Xander" and her dad's gf who happens to be black.

Indeed, she slashed thew brakes of Xander's bike and she tried to stab the black woman at the end ( her dads gf)

She also told her best friend ( who happens to be black) that she didnt wanna be her friend anymore

So those are all a lot of coincidences that proves that the little girl Ella ( the main actress) is indeed racist!

VIEWS ON FILM review of Daddy's Perfect Little Girl
burlesonjesse53 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"There's something very wrong with that little girl". Uh huh. We're talking being surrounded by a SWAT team with rifles wrong.

Anyway, 2021's Daddy's Perfect Little Girl is my latest review. It's title, well it couldn't be more of an oxymoron if it tried. Daddy's Perfect Little Girl is about a young preteen who becomes jealous of her adoptive father's new girlfriend and her basketball-playing son. The girl in question (Ella played by Hattie Kragten) resorts to murder, manipulation, and all out attention grabbing to drive the diegesis of the movie. You know Ella is a little off literally within the two-minute mark. She's what you call a "brat-a-tat-tat" or a daddy nightmare albatross.

"Perfect" is a character study that's sledgehammered for a good two hours (with commercials). It's Lifetime poster child (no pun intended) with Kragten diving into the role of Ella as if the world was her egocentric oyster. Her dad's persona is completely oblivious, her neighbor is a mean-spirited goof, her Schwinn Elm bike gets a lot of mileage, and her best friend Kinsley (Ajanae Stephenson) acts as a Greek chorus to give Ella up for her wrongdoings. Ella doesn't need fatherly advice mind you. She needs to be put in an institution stat (which happens in the end, sort of).

Daddy's Perfect Little Girl minus its binding production values, is a sort of gender-reversed version of 1993's The Good Son (remember that Macaulay Culkin thriller?). It gets the job done from a narrative standpoint (barely) and yeah, Kragten is committed to her part. You as the viewer, feel no commiseration for Ella and I suppose that's the point. Still, why does "Perfect" project camp when it could exercise a little more depth. I figured it's Lifetime's fault for not fleshing out the anemic script more. Yup, not so "perfect".

Terrible Acting!!
This is just another psycho child movie. It is predictable. The little girl just puffs out her lips, looks evil, and throws a hissy fit at every little thing. All I could do was laugh at her performance. Don't waste your time on this one.

Terrible!
e_botjer2 March 2022
This has got to be the worst acting I have ever seen. I know we can't expect a lot with TV movies, but this movie by far was the worst! Terrible acting, no connections between the characters, the movie simply shouldn't have been made.

Four stars bc I finished it.

Warning: Spoilers
This girl Ella beats a stranger, spazzes out at her father's work site, harms several people....but gets her way. It's ridiculous and honestly isn't fun to watch. I kept thinking to myself, it's not as if she has two faces where her dad sees an angelic face and everyone else sees a little monster. No, the dad sees the bratty monster, and brushes it off. Most of the time, it's an idiot female protagonist that gets people killed with naiveté; here it's an idiot male one. Not to mention, she's adopted out of an abusive situation, her adopted mom dies....this kid acts out so often...no therapy? She also spends so much time by herself (including on the vacation her dad just had to take her on). Mr. Neighbor may have had a point about Nolan's parenting skills. Rhoda in The Bad Seed (one of my favorite films of all time) at least had a few people completely fooled by being charming and keeping her evilness somewhat hidden. Ella does no such thing and I'm spending the movie waiting for her to get her lightning bolt on the pier.

Even after all of her crimes, she is coddled to the very end. Which just means her father Nolan learned absolutely nothing and Ella will grow up to be the typical Lifetime villain, with daddy issues, that ends up obsessed with someone else's fiance. Instead of tide pods, it'll be syringes. Ella is too much of a brat. How many people have to say something about Ella before dumb Nolan connects a single dot? Ella's crimes are also sloppy (unlike Rhoda) so by her third victim I'm over it.

Since it's not the point of the movie, I'll spoil that the Dad and Cecily end up together. What mother would choose a relationship with a man who's daughter tried to kill her and her son? That scene at the climax was absolutely wild and no potential relationship should have survived that. Sometimes these wrap-things-up-so pretty endings should not happen.

I am glad that her little best friend not only turned on her, but survived. Same for the housekeeper.

Horrible
foxfire0301 May 2021
I suffered through this just to see if it would get any better. No chemistry between any of the characters. Basically just about a brat that needed a spanking. Lifetime your movies are horrible. It's more about kids n teenagers now. I'm over your channel. Buh bye.

A nice change of pace
pmtelefon30 May 2021
"Daddy's Perfect Little Girl" is a (mostly) fun watch. It was a little different than the usual Lifetime fare. It told its story well and wrapped up in an unexpected way. The cast does a nice job, especially Hattie Kragten. Warts and all, I enjoyed watching "Daddy's Perfect Little Girl".

Good movie but not a satisfying ending Warning: Spoilers
So this crazy little thing kills and terrorizes everyone in her path, and....none of those people got to get any justice, except when Cecily called the police on her. What about the neighbor she killed, the mom that was poisoned, Xander, the fact that she lied on the housekeeper. None of them got any justice. And Dad just hugs her and says she's still his little girl? No anger? Nothing. Yea, very dissatisfying ending.

RIDICULOUS
samyers-137891 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The movie was okay . I didn't really like the plot , I've seen it before on lifetime . Why did the writers say the little girl can come home towards the end of the movie ?? In my opinion, that's was stupid . The little girl tried to kill the dad's girlfriend , the dad's girlfriend son , the dad's partner mother , stabbed the daddy , and killed the neighbour . I don't feel like the daughter deserves a room in that house or even a key . THE LITTLE GIRL SHOULD STAY WHERE SHE IS .THIS IS CRAZY!!!

What I Didn't Understand
IMKidHunni4 April 2022
I don't understand on why Ella hated this woman's son Zander I don't know why she disliked him that much & the girl is very clingy & the dad doesn't see what she is doing like knocking over stuff & claims it fell over by itself or cutting her finger with a knife the girl is spoiled rotten.

Worst acting I've ever watched
cathykids-103-81730713 September 2021
This was absolutely horrible. Not a single person involved did a good job with the acting. The script was pretty typical. You know what's going to happen just about 2 minutes in.

Don't Waste Your Time
linaruby-5319227 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is a really bad movie. Plagued with horrible acting, writing and a ridiculous storyline. It's a low, low budget, poorly written gender reversal of The Good Son minus any likable characters or decent performances.

The worst actor here is the kid playing the murderous, lying daughter. Her exaggerated expressions are almost laughable but overall just extremely annoying. It's two hours of this kid on her bike sneaking around, killing the neighbor and generally being a vicious brat.

The supporting actors are so unbelievably dumb you will find yourself either rolling your eyes or laughing.

Like most trainwrecks, you will find yourself unable to look away or change the channel. Do yourself a favor and CHANGE THE CHANNEL. Nothing in this miserable flop is worth your time.

If you want to know if the idiot kid gets her comeuppance at the end, here's what happens: after killing the neighbor, lying to everyone, poisoning someone, putting the son of her father's new girlfriend in the hospital and finally trying to stab her father's new girlfriend - her dumb adoptive father finally realizes she's nuts. Final scene is the kid in some sort of institution for disturbed kids. She's painted a picture for her dad of a garden with some flowers and the sun shining down. She asks if she can hang it up in her room when she comes home. She asks if her father has changed her room, he says he hasn't and then hugs her. Then the screen fades to black and credits roll.

For the love of your precious time (that could be spent better watching anything else) do not waste two hours on this... You will never get that time back. If I could have given this zero stars, I would have - absolute garbage.

Horrible
laylaroses30 May 2021
Okay this 🔈means there gonna be a spoiler.

Firstly this is hands down the worst movie I've ever seen. The girl is just the most annoying protagonist, they try to make you feel bad for her, I just can't. This movie wouldn't be this bad if it wasn't for the SPINELESS DAD. 🔈He believes his mentally sick🔈 child over half of the main cast. The acting is so-so it's not bad but it's not the best. The dad is just this worst dad in the world, the dad never disciplines his kid. She thinks that she is entitled to everything. If you wondering why I just refer to them as Dad and Girl is because NONE OF THE CHARACTERS ARE MEMORABLE!!! The ending is horrible the 🔈girl just killed 1 of her neighbors 🔈and she's still daddy's perfect little girl! And she can't handle anyone talking to her dad. Any other lifetime movie but is it a good choice. 🔈Both of her ofter parents died which is sad no one should have to go through that, but they just use this as an excuse for all of her bad behavior.🔈 If they wanted to make an annoying protagonist they could have did what they did with the friend. She was an example of how to do an annoying character! Xander is the best character in this whole movie, at least he tried and was MEMORABLE! No hate to any of the actors, they did their best but they had nothing to work with. Have a nice day!

TLDR: This is a movie about an annoying dad and an even more annoying kid. It's a brat that needs a whooping.

P. S sorry if this is all over the place, there's just so much I hate about this garbage fire.

Another horrible Lifetime movie
ablondmoment12 July 2022
What happened to Lifetime they use to make good movies with good actors. Now the acting is laughable hard to watch. The story line is just boring. Why are most movies now about teens and kids? Don't waste your time on this one.

Half a thumbs up

It is one of them movies that once you start playing it you need to see it to the ending.

The acting wasn't great, aside from Ella, Hattie Kragten, her acting was quite good.

I Was Looking for Cheesy Movie...
Mehki_Girl11 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
And I found it! Lol!

I'm sitting here playing on my phone and doing some work and I didn't really want a movie where I had to focus and look at the screen, so I went looking for something that looked cheesy and this looked very cheesy and I was right!

Wooden acting and recitation of cheesy lines. The cinematography isn't half bad and the movie, physically, looks good. So far, no annoying soundtrack, but I'm sure they'll be musical notes to tell us how to feel.

I actually do want to see how far this little bad seed is going to go to keep her daddy.

Actually, this kind of fanaticism isn't that out of the realm; because I actually had a half sister who pretty much acted this way because she was jealous of us kids and our mom and wanted our dad all to herself. I think she was, literally, the last straw before my parents divorced! So this kind of evil does exist!

So I could actually relate to the evil of this little kid.

I want to see how far this little kid is going to go before her daddy starts paying attention to the signs and I want to see what the body count is going to be! Lol!

Loved this Movie
mhickman-981224 May 2021
I absolutely love lifetime movies they are all good. This was a very funny, dark and good movie. I love how even though it wasn't based on a true story it really could happen. The girl just had demons in her mind that made her into what she was. I recommend this movie, it was awesome. Some people love to come on here and complain about nothing. This was good movie Go Watch it!

Pretty Bad
gotohoward19 April 2024
It was probably made for 12 yo's. I watched at first, because I knew from the title and short description it would be about a demented child which are fun to watch for me. It ended up being an amateur level production experience. By amateur I mean it was actors and a production at very basic levels. I stuck with it because I like seeing how hard it is to be good at writing and acting when you see people who aren't very good, but want to be. Who knows you might see someone early in their career, and end up in real movies or popular tv shows. You got to start somewhere. The little girl in this gets mad over and over when she loses her father's undivided attention or doesn't get what she wants. It was probably made for $50,000 the whole thing.

Insanely generic...
paul_haakonsen22 April 2024
Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with this 2021 drama thriller titled "Daddy's Perfect Little Girl" prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2024. And with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to sit down and watch it.

Writer Melissa Cassera put together a very generic and predictable script and storyline for the movie. Now, I know that this is a TV movie and all, but come on. The script was so predictable that you see things coming a mile away. And it was so generic that writer Melissa Cassera was simply just cramming in as many tropes as possible.

Something that worked well in favor of the movie was the acting performances. Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The actors and actresses put on good performances. And while I absolutely loathed the Ella character, I have to say that actress Hattie Kragten put on quite a performance in bringing this obnoxious character to life on the screen.

I am sure that there is an audience out there who will gobble something like this movie up and enjoy it. I, however, was not really in that particular target audience. The movie just simply was too generic for my liking.

My rating of director Curtis Crawford's 2021 movie "Daddy's Perfect Little Girl" lands on a three out of ten stars.
