Although this episode runs an extra seven minutes, you don't see the extended scene where Thirteen recovers as Foreman asks her to participate in his medical trial on syndicated episodes.
Originally shown with limited commercial interruption.
House guesses that Thirteen has herpes--the CDC estimates that upwards of 80% of sexually active adults in America has the disease, with most either entirely asymptomatic or showing symptoms too mild to be concerning.
Lisa Edelstein and Peter Jacobson play a man and a woman at a restaurant in "As Good As It Gets" (1997). A guest star in this episode, Wood Harris, plays a busser at the same restaurant.
Jason, the desperate "patient", isn't very bright. He has the bathroom of Cuddy's office blocked off, despite the fact his hostages will NEED one; they're sick in different ways. The best one is where he is threatening Thirteen at gunpoint to take the last injection. What makes it INCREDIBLY stupid is that he just found out his diagnosis is fatal anyway and that she will DIE anyway from just one more medical injection. She refuses, he kills her just to be petty. She takes it and dies, he kills House to be petty and gets shot dead by the police. It's pretty much a no win situation if help hadn't intervene
