Excellent Time Slip Series
AJ_McAninch29 December 2021
The cast is superb on so many levels in both character and plot development. It's a very complicated time slip story that for the most part is riveting, but at times the shifts and outcomes aren't quite thorough, leaving some plot holes especially in the closest of the relationships. But still strongly recommended for the outstanding cast and excellent time shift concept as detective story. I enjoyed this series.
Amazing!

Warning: Spoilers
This show wasn't without its flaws but it was entertaining enough for me to overlook them. The actors were all incredibly talented and the numerous twists and turns and revelation of each character's motives in the show kept me on the edge of my seat. The technical aspects of this show, such as the editing and soundtrack were also superb. I especially loved the transitions between the two timelines. And I would say that I'm really satisfied with the ending, because everyone got what they deserved, be it good or bad. And the pacing was good too because there wasn't a dull moment in this show for me, even though there were parts that left me kind of frustrated. For example, the characters didn't think to upload the files online somewhere like hello? Why put yourselves through all that trouble when it could be solved so easily, especially when the two timelines were set in the 21st century, a month apart.
Strong from start to finish

Definitely worth the watch for fans of thrillers.
Exceptionally well written and gripping from start to finish. Acting is superb, both main and support. Only con (for some at least) is that timeline jumping occurs fairly often per episode so you need to pay close attention.

I've watched the first 3 episodes and I am totally addicted. If it continues on this good it has the makings of being one of the best K-Dramas I've seen.
Good cast, well acted and an interesting storyline.
Update: Just watched episode 6 and am still addicted, twists and turns galore.

Interesting in first-half, annoying in second-half

Starts on an interesting note, but then halfway through starts getting dislikable. There are some predictable plot-twists throughout. Not much charm to the characters either, unlike some other timeline related dramas I saw recently. Overall it's fine, but not great.
why just an episode a week?

Good Enough

Korean Drama '' Kairos '' is a time travel thriller.
The drama managed to pull off a difficult plot without overcomplicating things, even though it was easy to confuse the audience with the back-and-forth and the overlapping timelines. Yet, the drama used the mystery behind the time leaping to its advantage, making the viewer guess what is happening throughout the drama, or root for the leads to finally discover the truth.
Keeping things romance free was another excellent idea, as the story really didn't need any romantic element to be interesting and a love story would have shifted the focus from the suspenseful fantasy story to a more 'rosy' even tragic direction.
However, the story did get stuffy towards the ending and they repeated many twists.
The performances were also great by everyone in the cast and especially the main leads.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

Frustrating and confusing
phd_travel16 December 2020
Surprisingly there are 2 shows this year with the people from 2 time periods communicating via cell phone: "The Call" and Kairos. It is a different and sometimes difficult premise to accept. The viewer needs to get into the rhythm of this show. Need to concentrate or it can be confusing. Something bad happens then by altering things in the past the present changes. There are flashbacks too so the viewer needs to concentrate hard with all the different scenarios. It is hard to keep track of who knows what and when. The kidnap draws one in to the show. Be prepared for frustrating moments every episode. Many times feel like slapping Han Ae Ri's mother when she doesn't tell what is going on and Ae Ri when she wails. But it is interesting to see how things change when there is alteration to the past.
The cast is watchable so they keep the one interested. Shin Sung Rok acts well and tormented when necessary. Nam Gyu Ri is pretty and it is a good role for her to show different facets. Ahn Bo Hyun of Itaewon Class acts quite differently here.
With less jumping around in time it could have been much better, less complicated and easier to follow. The story is simple but it's told in an unnecessarily complicated manner.
Good Cast and Interesting Storyline

Brilliant and Gripping Thriller

Kairos was an incredible show from start to finish. The plot twists and details were impeccably thought through, and the acting was top notch from the whole cast. The cinematography was perfectly done to help aid the viewer distinguish between the present and future story lines. The soundtrack was somber and chilling at times and helped to create the dark mood of the show.
The first half of the show was definitely a bit better than the second half, but I still was hooked to every episode. The last few episodes were a tad muddled, and I was a bit confused as to the main villain's motive, hence the knock of one star. Otherwise it was a perfect show.

Well-written, well-executed Korean Drama
arche-typess26 December 2020
This drama has a phenomenal combination of an amazing script, directing, and stellar casts from the lead to the supporting roles. I have come to learn that the script writer developed this drama for three years and I could see that the writer pays attention to the smallest detail of the story, especially the changes of events after a disruption done by the characters. I believe that such meticulousness is hard to achieve, knowing the nature of time-travel, sci-fi drama. Yet, the story is crafted perfectly as it stays true to the plot and there is no unnecessary filler.
Both director and casts are also what made the drama into the masterpiece that it is. The casts, from the main lead to the supporting characters portray their character in such depth that it does not let the viewers wonder on their action and display of emotion.

Meh, lack of empathy

Warning: Spoilers
Well, it could have been a good series for me but unfortunately, it isn't.
I really couldn't feel any sympathy for the family and didn't care about them.
Here we have a rich couple, who love their daughter but are too busy achieving their own goal to take care of her. The husband is completely assisted and have a habit of having other people do things for him, even caring for her child. And the worst is that they can't even hire a proper professional babysitter to watch the kid (also, you bring your kid to a concerto, you want her to behave - or basically do nothing at all- and can't even tolerate her by your side). Well, you got what you desserved.
And then, it kept going but the acting and filming was a bit overdramatic, and too focalised on the couple. Whereas the hardworking daughter story was more interesting and moving.
I stopped watcing after episode 4, completely lost interest.
You have to see it

In Another World With My Smartphone
Park_Min14 February 2024
Although its earlier parts were much better than the rest but the initial set up needed more time and thoughts to be put into it. They wanted to kick start the premise quickly but they rushed things along the way. The first 5-6 episodes kept you interested about the plot and had a good amount of thriller but things slowed down significantly after that and it began to lose its attraction even when they attempted to add story-altering twists. The story itself got sloppier for no reason in the second half and the villains turned out to be underwhelming. The characters never felt like they had a good dynamic or chemistry going on, not even with the most obvious main mother-daughter or father-daughter relationship. Their lack of appeal made it hard to root for anyone. Something was missing, none of them clicked.
