A new trailer for the Netflix black comedy Do Revenge dropped on Tuesday, offering a further glimpse into the bubblegum, sugarcoated world of director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s latest endeavor.
Do Revenge stars Riverdale’s Camila Mendes and Stranger Things’ Maya Hawke as two high school students who’ve had their social lives ruined by their respective loose-lipped exes. In an effort to exact their titular revenge, the pair decide to employ each other to inflict the punishments they’re hesitant to bestow upon their own tormentors. The premise evokes stories like Patricia Highsmith’s Strangers On A Train or the cult dark comedy film Heathers, while the trailer’s aesthetics call to mind recent movies like Promising Young Woman and Ingrid Goes West.

Don’t mess with Maya.
Maya Hawke leads Netflix dark comedy “Do Revenge” alongside Camila Mendes, about popular high schooler Drea (Mendes) who seeks retaliation against her ex-boyfriend (Austin Abrams of “Euphoria” fame) after a very public sexting scandal. Enter: Eleanor, played by Hawke, who also has a score to settle involving a rumor she tried to “hold down” another classmate and kiss her.
“I know what it’s like to get fucked over by someone you thought you could trust,” Hawke says in the candy-colored trailer reminiscent of “Thoroughbreds.”
She adds of her target, “I want to burn her to the ground.”
Co-written and directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, “Do Revenge” is billed as a “subverted Hitchcockian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.” The film premieres September 16 on Netflix.

Pete Davidson first joined "Saturday Night Live" in 2014, and after eight seasons on the show, the star announced that the May 21 episode of the comedy show was his last. He joined fellow cast members Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, and Kyle Mooney, who also exited ahead of the show's 48th season. But there will still be plenty of opportunities to see Davidson on screen. He's starring in a number of brand-new movies and TV shows, from the slasher flick "Bodies Bodies Bodies" - out Aug. 5 - to the comedy "American Sole," which he'll appear in alongside Sydney Sweeney and Bad Bunny.
In addition to his iconic roles on "SNL," Davidson has appeared in a number of projects in recent years, including cowriting and starring in the film "The King of Staten Island," which is loosely based on his life. He also appeared in "The Suicide Squad," "The Rookie," and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Today we learned why Bad Bunny missed Sunday night’s planned performance at the American Music Awards. The reggaeton star’s rep said today that he has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Puerto Rican rapper, whose real name is Benito Martínez Ocasio, had been scheduled to perform “Dákiti” — the international hit single he recorded with Jhay Cortez — during the trophy show but canceled without offering an explanation. Bad Bunny’s publicist Sujeylee Solá told the Associated Press that he isn’t showing any symptoms of Covid yet.
Bad Bunny might have been absent from the show, but that didn’t stop him from collecting a pair of wins, for Favorite Male Artist – Latino and Favorite Latin Album – Latino — which he accepted virtually from his Los Angeles home.
The rapper debuted at No. 2 the Billboard 200 album chart with his February release Yhlqmdlg, a Spanish acronym that translates to “I Do What I Want.
