- TriviaRed Skelton did not appear on this program due to the death of his nine-year old son, Richard, from leukemia three days earlier. Several of Skelton's show business friends substituted for him. James Arness makes a cameo, interrupting Milton Berle's monologue and telling Berle to hurry it up; Jimmie Rodgers sings 'Make Me A Miracle'; Vincent Price recites of lyrics to 'Little Blue Man,' (I wuv you; I wuv you to bits) a popular novelty tune; Jo Stafford sings 'The Nearness of You'; Donald O'Connor and Sidney Miller play songwriters in a comedy sketch, imitating Elvis Presley, Louis Prima and Keeley Smith, Marlene Dietrich, Yul Brynner, Rex Harrison.
