Maverick Film and Complex Corp have acquired “Murder Company,” an action film set during World War II. The film will be released in theaters, on demand and digital on July 5.

As Til Death Do Us Part opens The Best Man sits in a pew working on his speech as upbeat music plays in the background. That’s followed by similar glimpses of other wedding party members prepping for the ceremony. A flashback to The Bride and Groom, nobody in this film has a name, on vacation serves to reinforce the happy image.
But Til Death Do Us Part isn’t a Hallmark Channel rom-com or Lifetime Channel thriller. Because when The Bride gets cold feet and bails on the wedding, we find out everyone involved in the ceremony is a highly skilled assassin. Now the stood-up Groom wants more than just his ring back, and their employer doesn’t take resignations well.

Lawrence Turman Dies: Oscar-Nominated Producer Of ‘The Graduate’, ‘American History X’ & More Was 96
Oscar-nominated producer Lawrence Turman died Saturday at the Motion Picture and Television Country Home and Hospital. He was 96. He had a stellar career not only as a producer of such seminal films as The Graduate (1967), The Great White Hope (1970), American History X (1998) and many more in a producing career that lasted six decades, but he also took a significant turn when he left his partnership with producer David Foster to head the prestigious Peter Stark Producing Program at USC in 1991, an association that continued until his retirement just two years ago.
His son, John Turman, confirmed the death to Deadline. “Our father Lawrence Turman passed away late yesterday,” he said. “It’s sad, but he had a long and storied life, and it’s the passing of an era.” He added that the MPTF is planning a memorial service as well as USC at a later date.

Born in Los Angeles in 1926, Turman graduated from UCLA and broke into the industry after answering an ad in Variety to work at the Kurt Frings agency. Actor Taye Diggs found himself in frequent competition with rappers-turned-actors when it came to movies. And this had a negative effect on his film career.

A few celebrities have had issues with the idea of rappers becoming actors without putting in the proper effort for the craft. Veteran star Samuel L. Jackson was once particularly against the concept, so much so that he sometimes avoided doing films with other rappers.
“To take people from the music world and give them the same kind of credibility and weight that you give me, Morgan Freeman, Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker — that’s like an aberration to me; you just can’t do that,” Jackson once told Sacramento Bee (via Entertainment Weekly). “It’s not my job to lend credibility to so-and-so rapper who’s just coming into the business.

This year’s first-round Primetime Emmy nominations ballot includes a total of 51 Best Limited Series hopefuls. This is down from 2022’s unusually high total of 61, yet still much higher than 2021’s 37, 2020’s 41, and 2019’s 35.
All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their 2023 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for programs. Unlike the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally. Unlike comedy and drama series, which simply appear on the ballot by name, the limited series submissions include plot descriptions and cast lists. Which of the shows listed below do you think will land in the final lineup on...

Dahmer – Monster may have been a dark series about a serial killer, but Michael Learned thinks she got the role as the cannibal’s grandmother by showing off her wry sense of humor.
While shooting a self-tape for the role of Catherine Dahmer, Learned’s manager suggested that she include a full body shot as part of the audition.
“I said, ‘oh God, if I’d known you were gonna do that, I would’ve worn a bra,” Learned recalls to Deadline. “I hiked up my boobs. I thought my manager was going to cut it out. But he left it in and I think I probably got the part because it just made them laugh.”
An ability to put viewers in stitches wasn’t exactly a requirement of the job. Instead, Learned was hired to portray Dahmer’s rather tolerant grandma who takes the young man into her home...

Shane Dax Taylor’s 2023 action/thriller The Best Man stars Dolph Lundgren, Luke Wilson, Nicky Whelan, and a host of other stars, but it barely delivers on the promises. An age-old story about retribution during a happy occasion that makes the occasion go horribly wrong serves as the plot of the movie, and it goes exactly how you’d imagine. It’s sad to see Dolph’s caliber wasted downing drinks and shooting at enemies with no room for growth for him or any of the characters involved. Here’s the detailed recap and ending of The Best Man.

The Best Man is a film directed by Shane Dax Taylor starring Brendan Fehr, Dolph Lundgren and Luke Wilson.
The Best Man: an 80s style action movie that brings back some nostalgia, piety and the best feelings.
80s action returns to rescue one of its lesser-known myths, Dolph Lundgren.
One of those action movies in which, mysteriously, we all agree there’s something missing.
The Best Man Movie Review
The Best Man is one of those bad action movies, a B-series video store film from which, deep down, we still try to get something good, especially due to the nostalgia that Dolph Lundgren brings us and the Die Hard-style eighties classicism that the whole set exhales, from its borrowed script to its protagonists, who also seem taken from another era in which cinema, at least, seemed different.

The Best Man: an 80s style action movie that brings back some nostalgia, piety and the best feelings.
80s action returns to rescue one of its lesser-known myths, Dolph Lundgren.
One of those action movies in which, mysteriously, we all agree there’s something missing.

Bury the Bride, which recently debuted as a Tubi Original, is the second film from director Spider One and co-writer Krsy Fox after last year’s Allegoria. Spider One, for those not into the industrial metal scene, is the singer and only consistent member of the band Powerman 5000; and probably more important to his expansion into filmmaking, he’s Rob Zombie’s younger brother.
And Bury the Bride certainly opens like one of his brother’s films as credits playing over an old-timey love song give way to green-tinted footage of a woman hacking at someone or something just out of sight. And then to a group of women talking about the dick size of someone’s fiance while another tries, and loudly announces her failure,...
