Its Real Life you know
cescfabulous23 July 2022
A lot of people say "this could not not happen" in the US people live their lives by what a shrink tells them People who want to kill themselves go to shrinks to try to help them This Story reminds me of Romance Fraud, Marty was groomed by Ike. And finding out Marty is so rich, was a massive bonus.

What happens when people join cults is this not the same thing.

So people YES it does happen, Marty is lonely so he is easy to groom, each time Ike makes the bonds stronger. In the end Marty has zero non material in his world other then Ike. As Marty said "we are family" so of course even if its crazy he will do anything to keep Ike. Its like a druggie needing his fix, and that fix is Ike.

Still undecided
louzeiro2229 November 2021
We are halfway through this series, and to be honest i'm still undecided if I like it or not. This episode is a good representation of that.

Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd have great chemistry and play their roles well, however in Rudd's case, his character is very unlikable in a way that makes me wanna turn the tv off. And I don't mean that in a good way.

The progression of the story looks very predictable, to the point it's kinda unrealistic how Ferrell's character still falls for every trick of Ike.

Overall I can't give a bad review, but i'm not sure if this show can turn it around and get better until it ends.

The Family Tree

Warning: Spoilers
I can't believe Marty could be this oblivious, but it looks that is the story they are going to tell.

Overall this miniseries has been entertaining, but I also feel like they stretched it out over too many episodes.

Getting a little better again.

The first 30 minutes are mostly just long and not funny at all but the last 10 minutes is very good when it comes to the characters. I think the next couple episodes could be really good.

It's mostly true. Heartbreaking

Yes, it's incredible and hard to believe that this could truly happen. The fact that it did to the real life Marty by the real life Ike makes it harder to watch. I think the casting is genius because you don't expect Paul Rudd to be this guy, just like many of Ike's patients didn't think he was.

What a great episode. Some time has passed in this episode and we can see how Ike's manipulation of Marty is growing stronger and stronger. I've never listened to the podcast but I certainly will now.
