Mr. Mayor recovers from a rocky start

The first two "Mr. Mayor" episodes were extremely disappointing. They were bland, tasteless and unfunny. However, as the show progresses, it picks up steam. This episode wasn't anything special, but it was sufficient. The two main plotlines were solidly entertaining and packed some laughs. Bobby Moyhian and Holly Hunter had good chemistry, something that set up a lot of solid laughs. Overall, solid 7/10 and pretty good television.

Am pulling the plug on Mr Mayor. Too stupid and for my comedic tastes this doesn't work for me.

Will get back 30 minutes of other TV watching every week.

I really tried.

Not Funny

It just isn't. It's just about being Politically Correct and making sure that the white male is wrong or foolish.

Just too Stupid

After the pilot, which wasn't have bad, I couldn't make it through more than 5 minutes of the next 3 episodes. The subject lines are ridiculous to the point of extreme awful. Mayor of LA with nothing but bozo the clowns. I'm bailing on this one.

Naw, this one went backwards

Whatever glimmers I saw last week were gone. First, the mayor's makeup looked awful. Were they deliberately trying to make him orange? The plot with Orly is tired. Why does his staff work for a man they don't respect? I stayed for Holly Hunter, but this kooky one dimensional woman is beneath her.

I can't believe anyone green-lighted this show. Who was so tone-deaf as to think that Americans wanted to watch bumbling, self-centered immature politicians who don't take their jobs and the lives they govern seriously?

Nope, flip flopping by the writers doesn't work

Characters personality & behaviour changing between episode 1 & 3 then changing again in episode 4 is just ridiculous, it's supposed to be a comedy, it's just an unfunny mess with zero comedic situations & bad unfunny dialogue.

The Sac
Prismark108 September 2022
It begins with another parody of the Trump era. The Mayor using airdrop while a presentation is taking place.

Later finding out that his daughter might be expelled from school for bullying a teacher.

It leads to the Mayor stalking his daughter online by creating a fake profile. It does not go down well with other members of his team:

His daughter Orly just wants to be rebellious and watch a bad movie.

Meanwhile Arpi the deputy mayor and Jayden go on a road trip and try to connect.

Only for Jayden trying to break the ice by using lines to make someone fall in love with you.

It could be a long way to Sacramento.

Two solid stories but flaky and really not that funny. The cast are trying their best but Tina Fey's writing lacks edge and humour.
