Best known for his chilling performance in Wolf Creek, after that movie was completed, Australian actor John Jarratt wrote, produced, and co-starred in Savages Crossing, and now - finally - the film is getting a North American release from Mvd Distribution.
Savages Crossing has a street date of August 20th, 2013. In addition, it will be released on DVD in Japan by Aya Pro and in the UK by 101 Films. Meanwhile the UK's Horror Channel will screen it throughout 2013/14.
Starring John Jarratt, Craig McLachlan, and Chris Haywood, Savages Crossing follows a group of strangers forced to take shelter in an Outback roadhouse whilst a flood rages around them. But the danger lurking within is far greater than the threat from outside. As the water level rises, so does the tension, as the line between hunter and hunted starts to blur.

So let’s just be clear. I’m aware that ads aren’t real. But at the same time, there’s a grammar behind them. A main point being the principle of truth in advertising – the idea that you can’t make claims that aren’t real. If you can’t prove that your product is 25% better at something than it’s rival, you can’t say so.
Yet when it comes to online video, the principle often goes out of the window. Instead, the joke’s on the consumer. Most documentary-style video doesn’t show what it purports to. Which eventually hurts the whole industry, because consumers become ever more cynical.
And it also almost never results in a good marketing result either.
At which point let’s take a look at nine videos that Look Pretty Fake To Me.

We’re all excited that writer/director Greg McLean will have Wolf Creek 2 before the cameras next year (see story here), but while waiting for the sequel to see the fright of day, star John Jarratt has done another psycho turn in the Australian suspense yarn Savages Crossing. See below the jump for exclusive photos and a chat with Jarratt, who co-wrote and produced the Kevin James Dobson-directed film (and also appears in the recent Screamfest attraction Needle; see story here).
