- When Barry suddenly gains the power of speed thinking, he attempts to use his new gift to save Iris; while Barry is thrilled with his new power, Cisco is hesitant to trust it; Eva must face a shattering truth.
- Barry discovers that his brain--and thinking processes--have been accelerated by the Artificial Speed Force. The enhancement also causes an increase in his negative emotions, just as he has to decide whether to save Iris, or Kamilla and Singh - and sacrifice the others.—Gislef
- At STAR Labs, Barry speaks a eulogy for Nash, and all of the other Wells. Cisco has returned, and places Nash's pack on a stand with everyone else they've lost, and Cisco says that the wall is temporally reinforced so no matter how much the timeline changes, their names won't be forgotten.
The others leave, and Joe tells Barry not to blame himself. Barry suggests that his heart is their enemies' greatest weapon, and Joe tells them that he feels in his heart that they'll get Iris back.
Allegra sits in her office and looks at a photo of her and Nash. She sees the message that Iris sent from the Mirrorverse.]
Cisco creates a device using Atlantean tech that will open a portal to the Mirrorverse, and shows it to Barry. He admits that the device is a dud, and admits that he doesn't know what to do. Cisco says that he's lost his friend, his girlfriend is trapped in another dimension, and nothing he thinks of for saving her succeeds. Barry promises that they'll get Iris, Kamilla, and Singh back and Cisco focuses on the problem. He passes on Chester' suggestion that they need to solve two problem.
Barry's mind moves at superspeed and he sees Cisco draw it on his white board. He realizes what the first problem is before Cisco explains it. Cisco wonders he knew that, and Barry says that he saw it. He does it again, and works out that that they need to know where Iris and Kamilla are to pull them back. Allegra comes, and Barry anticipates her again.
At McCulloch, Eva watches the video of her "dying": Millie comes in to report on their mission, and Eva asks her if she notices anything different about her. Millie says that there is something familiar: the look in Eva's eyes and it's how Carver looked when he was keeping secrets from them. Eva insists that she isn't keeping secrets, and says that she'll go on the next mission herself to destroy her husband's Black Hole tech.
At STAR, Cisco explains that the artificial Speed Force gave Barry enhanced cognition. He tests Barry by taking out a Quantum Ball, which absorbs kinetic energy and moves unpredictably... except Barry should be able to predict it. Cisco has Barry calculate it and tosses it, and Barry predicts every move it makes and catches it. Barry says that he knows how to open a portal to the Mirrorverse.
Barry shows Cisco and Allegra how they don't need Ramsey's blood, because the dark matter photons attached themselves to Eva. If they remove them, they can use them to create a portal. Barry creates a device, and Barry works out a device and calculates the next Black Hole stash that Eva will hit. Cisco agrees and wishes he could have seen it earlier. Barry tells Cisco that it's his fault for not seeing the mirror Iris was a fake.
Iris finds Kamilla where she said to meet her. They compare notes and Iris suggests that she's got some degree of control over the mirror universe. Kamilla hasn't found Singh yet, and worries that their minds might be destroyed by the Mirrorverse. Iris assures her that there's nothing that can stop them if they stick together, and they go to find Singh.
At the stash, Mirror Master confronts three armed guards moving the tech. She blasts one of them away, and the other two runs. Cisco and Flash are there, and Flash says that he called in extra muscle. Frost arrives and blasts Mirror Master. While Frost distracts Mirror Master, Flash runs in with a Tachyon Enhancer to collect the particles they need. Mirror Master blasts Frost down, and Flash stays where he's at.
Mirror Master blasts Cisco unconscious, and Cisco shoots at Mirror Master. She dodges his shots, blasts the tech, and slips into a mirror. Cisco checks on Frost, then accuses Flash of letting Frost get hit.
Back at STAR, Cisco discovers that Frost's healing isn't enough to compensate for the blast Mirror Master hit her with. Barry calculates a cure at superspeed and injects Frost with it, and she recovers. Cisco points out that Barry let Frost get hit, and Barry says that there was a small percentage that the Enhancer was damaged, and he knew he could cure any light blast Frost took. Frost agrees with Barry's decision. Cisco tells Barry that he got lucky, and Barry says that luck had nothing to do with it. He says that Eva is watching them and would see them open the particle, and he needs to come up with a way to block her spying on them.
Cecile meets with Allegra, and Cecile realizes that Allegra is thinking about Nash. Allegra says that her father left her when she was an infant, and ever since she's cut anyone out of her life that might be a father figure. Cecile tells her that she doesn't have to let go of Nash if she doesn't want to, and talks about her family's history with social justice. She says that the people they love are only gone when they stop carrying them, and that's Allegra's choice.
Barry tells Cisco and Frost that Eva isn't the real Eva. He plays a talk show where Eva tells the hostess, Arielle Atkins, and the viewers that she's announcing she's returning to her life's work of scientifically improving the world. Barry has analyzed all the visible clues and says that isn't the real Eva. He checks the McCulloch surveillance footage, easily hacking the firewall when Cisco couldn't, and Cisco realizes that Barry's mind is getting faster. The footage shows that the real Eva died.
On the show, Eva brings up a video. Barry hacks the transmission and plays the footage of the real Eva dying. Frost says that it's not a good idea, and in the studio Eva panics and the glasses break. Eva asks if Eva is a meta or shapeshifter, and Eva calls to Millie who is watching. Insisting that she's not a monster, Eva transports herself into the reflective surface of the studio monitor.
Frost and Cisco wonder why Barry exposed the duplicate Eva to the world, and he calmly says that now she's distracted to notice them opening the portal to the Mirrorverse and that was the most efficient. Frost suggests that emotionally wrecking Eva might not have been the most efficient, and Barry says that they need to prep the machine and retrieve the "targets". Cisco asks if he means friends, and Barry says that they're one and the same. Once Barry leaves, Cisco and Frost both agree that something is wrong with Barry.
Barry is in the workshop working on the portal, and asks Gabriel for a second opinion. He's concerned about the tests that he's run on the portal, and has the AI provide a more efficient way to get the device up and working. Barry realizes that they can only save some of the people trapped in the multiverse, He tells the others that Singh and Kamilla have been in the mirror universe for less time, so they can pull them out. If they pull out Iris, it will take all of the dark matter photons they have.
They wonder how they can decide, and Barry votes that they should save Iris only. Frost and Cisco, and Allegra vote that they should save Kamilla and Singh.
Later, Barry runs a simulation and tells Gideon it's something he has to do alone. He cuts the portable AI off and activates the portal.
Iris and Kamilla go to the Mirrorverse version of STAR and find Singh there. He collapses and Iris realizes that it's an effect of being shot by Eva's mirror ray. Kamilla says that she was as well and collapses.
Cisco goes to the workshop and finds Barry wearing his suit. He says that he's wearing it to be prepared, and Cisco says that Thawne used negative emotions to power his artificial speed force. They used a different alloy, but the same device gave Barry negative emotions. Barry says that he's safer with the negative emotions, and Cisco tells him that his heart is what makes him human.
Glancing at the monitor screen, Cisco sees that Barry is targeting Iris. Barry says that he's already seen the outcome, and Cisco would have voted to save Kamilla and Singh. Angrily, Cisco says that he would have tried to find another way, and tells Barry that he can't predict emotions, and figures that Barry's heart is still with Iris. Barry says that iris has knowledge of Eva that will give them a tactical advantage, and Singh and Kamilla are expendable.
Shocked, Cisco takes out his blaster as Frost and Allegra come in. He tells Barry to never call Kamilla "expendable", and going to give Barry back his heart by choice or by force. Flash says that Iris would agree with him, and Cisco says that she wouldn't. He hits Flash with a Velocity Zero charge, and Flash grabs the Quantum Ball as a distraction, then knocks out Cisco and Allegra.
Frost injects herself with Velocity X, and the two speed through Central City. Flash manages to knock Frost down and tells her that Velocity X in her system is almost depleted. She says that she's not only a speedster, and throws a combined blast of speed force and lightning at him.
Cisco and Allegra arrive and transport Flash back to the workshop. Flash tells them that they've already lost, as the Quantum Ball bounces in just as Flash planned. The Ball hits Allegra, causing her to fire one of her own blasts into her face, and she unwittingly blasts frost unconscious before passing out.
Barry activates the portal full-strength, and the other end opens in the Mirrorverse as Iris prepares to take Kamilla and Singh to the medlab. She sees Barry on the other side, and he tells her that he's ready to bring her home. Iris says that she needs to get Singh and Iris through, and Flash tells her that bringing her back is the logical choice.
Surprised that it's not the outcome he predicted, Barry pulls up the attraction to pull Iris into the portal. She uses her control over the Mirrorverse to destabilize the portal, and tells Barry that what he's doing isn't right. Barry turns up the power, and Iris is pulled through into the real world and then collapses, convulsing.
Shocked, Barry realizes that he didn't see the outcome. He throws a lightning bolt at the device, and the enhanced speed is pulled out of him. Iris continues convulsing, and Barry looks at her in frustration.
In her office, the mirror Eva sits on the floor and mutters to herself "It's not her world" over and over. She then looks at the primary mirror, smiles, and says that it can be.
At the police station, Officer Korber is leaving for the night when arms extend out of the mirrored walls of the elevator she's in and reach for her.
Once Upon a Time...
In the past, Thawne confronts Harrison after the car wreck and puts two necklaces, one on himself and one on Harrison. Harrison collapses and Thawne takes on Harrison's appearance. He then buries Harrison's body in a nearby grave. A few minutes later, green energy comes out of the grave and forms into Harrison, standing over his own grave.
