Great Comedy Short

Warning: Spoilers
Wow, it looks like I'm the first to comment on here! Surprising, considering the entire movie is available online and I've been hearing people talk about it.

THE OLD MAN AND THE SEYMOUR is a fun 30 minute short about a 47 year old with a growth problem and thus looks like a teen, and gets stuck with custody of his 17 year old awkward nephew who's trying to fit in at school. It all climaxes with a big house party, reminiscent of old John Hughes films.

What truly stands out about the movie is how good it looks; clearly shot on real film in widescreen. The camera movements are choreographed very impressively, particularly a scene at the party when Lewis is doing a book-signing. The Narrator is funny as well and also brings in a level of production value.

The story...well, let's face it, the story comes second to the jokes in this kind of movie. I definitely feel the story could be much more developed to take place over a longer period of time. Maybe they'll get to make a feature eventually.

My only criticism is that while the two lead actors are okay, I feel they are overshadowed by the more colorful supporting cast. The Lawyer lady is very good, but the real star of the film is the Gus character. I don't know if he was a tribute to Almdovar's characters or what, but he stole the whole movie.

All in all, a solid production. If it had had more of the Gus character, it probably would have been great.

Stumbled upon this short. I first saw their Facebook Interview short. Their production is very pro, cutting-edge, good stuff.

The short is very funny. Reminds me of Napolean Dynamite. Protagonist is McLovin-like (at least in the looks department; behavior, etc.).

I am a big fan of their productions. I am surprised they have not had more success. I understand they run a regular webseries. Surprised this didn't get adapted into a full-length feature and released.

-The title is a bit long -The plot is a bit weaving -The co main actor isn't that good; Amir from college humor is very good.

Score is great. Would have liked to see more of the two girls in the interview scene.

Will be on the look-out for what these guys do next.
