A Step Up but Something Still Feels Off.
strawhatcrew-2077029 March 2023
This Chapter is definitely a step up from the other ones in Season 3, but something stills feels off with the quality and the writing compared to Seasons 1 and 2. Din's whole storyline the past 1-2 years was to go to Mandalore to "purify" himself after taking off his helmet, but now it's perfectly fine for Bo Katan to right after? The Mandalorians so far still feel more like Disneyfied Power Rangers who don't know how to use their gear. Apparently, there's only like 30-40 civilians living at Nevarro with Greef Karga? Had this same issue with Mos Espa in The Book of Boba Fett. Hire more extras! Make these places feel bigger! Din has officially received the Boba Fett treatment, and is being sidelined. I'm not sure if it was from the incredible HBO quality from Andor, but this season has felt pretty cheap and low budget at times. Just like The Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi. I am happy that the pacing is picking up and that we're going to see Gideon soon. Also loved the Rebels cameo. He looks incredible in live-action, and it really has me hyped for the upcoming Ahsoka series. Also really enjoyed the nice little tribute to the late Mr. Jeremy Bulloch aka the OG trilogy Boba Fett. "Bulloch Canyon" Overall, it is a step up from the past few Chapters, but something still feels off. I have been a huge fan of Bryce Dallas Howard's episodes, so I am very optimistic for next week's Chapter.

Mic Drop
tristan_1929 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Chapter 21 does a really good job at connecting the dots between the established storylines, as it shines a new light on the first four episodes of the season.

The Pirate Attack on Nevarro ends up being the first push in bringing the Mandalorians together, as the group comes to Greef Karga's aid. The music is particularly stunning this episode, and as the menace is vanquished, the Mandalorians are granted asylum.

They may not have a home planet anymore, but they have a base of operations, and we witness a shocking scene in which the Armorer tells Bo Katan to remove her helmet. She has walked both worlds and is therefore the candidate to unite the tribes.

The Mythosaur will probably be the mean to achieve these goals, and every Mandalorian will walk The Way. It puts a clear purpose on the goal of the season, and sets us in one direction. But we have one last mic drop before the end. Moff Gideon has escaped, and apparently has been helped by other Mandalorians ? What the flick ?

How is everything going to come together ? It brings new solid questions in the viewer's mind. The gearing has been turning since episode one and had to stop on this moment. Now the boat can float.

Good set up for the plot to (hopefully) move forward
snoozejonc29 March 2023
The pirates invade Navarro and Greef Karga seeks help.

This is an enjoyable action focused episode with some very strong visuals.

There is plenty of spectacle to enjoy in this one as we see the Mandalorians in full effect and for a worthy cause. Some of the aerial battles are particularly slick and involve a great mix of imagery, music and sound effects.

I think the back and forth discussions about certain aspects of the episode's plot move at a frustrating pace when you consider what is meant to be happening on Navarro. Also, when you consider the the overarching narrative, Djin and Bo have done very little since season 3 started (other than a few side missions).

It does end with a bit of hope for what might happen next and there is a massive hint about the return of a certain character, which hopefully will be positive, and that a twist might be on the cards. I wonder if it's what I'm thinking.

Cinematography Lacking
tinlittlenerd31 March 2023
This week we received an overall great episode that got the ball rolling on the future for Bo Karan and the rest of the Mandalorians. I'm glad to see that the events of episode 3 are also coming back to actually play a significant role in the story. My sole complaint, as evidenced by the title, is that this season's cinematography has been subpar at best. Greig Fraser, the cinematographer for the first two seasons was also responsible for projects like Rogue One, Dune, and The Batman, all of which were incredibly visually stunning works. With his absence, season 3 feels more like a cartoon than anything else. Seeing Mandalorians fight in the broad daylight with no particle effects outside of blaster sparks just takes me completely out of the story. It makes it obvious that this is shot on a set and takes me out of the immersion of what is otherwise a good story. The shots inside of the pirate ship are front lit, which eliminates any feeling that we're bunkered down with the pirates. It's definitely a nitpick, but I feel the difference in quality is extremely noticeable and should not be glossed over just for the fact that we're getting good Star Wars content.

Now we're getting somewhere
poseyfan30 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Season 3 of the Mandalorian has been alright so far. Just alright. This episode however, I found to be the best.

We get some worthwhile plot development, and some nice action. The Mandalorians team up to fight for Navarro in a scene where Paz Viszla pulled a 180 on us. The execution of that was good. Seeing Mandalorians team up to fight pirates is definitely a positive thing.

Bo-Katan gets told by the Armorer to take off her helmet, and she tells her that she will be the face of an upcoming revolution of sorts. The mandalorians will take back their home world. That - made me very excited and made me happy that we are finally getting somewhere.

Warning: Spoilers
This was a great episode!

It's very much has that western vibe again, a bit like the Magnificent 7, with Mandalorians!

Those in the know can feel the rise of what was the empire, but it never going to be the same empire!

When the Mandalorians speak to their audiences they hold the hammer this reminds me of something, I can't put my finger on it but I'm sure I've seen this form of conversing before?

Grogu had limited screen time in this one, that I felt was ok as it was something he could not get involved in!

Just loved the way both the Mandalorian Starship and The N1 Naboo star fighter came out of hyperspace just right at the planets outer atmosphere!

The episode again ended with Bo-Katan!

Best episode of the season
gjbardsley29 March 2023
For the longest time the mandalorian has been a very episodic series. With an overarching plot for the season as a whole in the background.

However with the advent of its third season it has shifted to a more connected plot. Episode five titled. The Pirate it's the payoff of 4 episodes of build up. Whilst also building up for the next half of the season, it has given us the most action packed episode thus far whist also focusing on smaller characters throughout the episode. As it's only halfway through that we see the Mandalorians really take centre stage.

***SPOILERS***

The episode follows an group of pirates decimate Greef Karga's planet Nevarro. He is forced lead his people into the lava flats for safety as they wait for help to arrive from to Republic. However due to their world not being a member of the republic, help doesn't look likely to arrive. Greef sends word to Captain Teva to send urgent military aid. And although Teva is eager to help the people of Nevarro he is prevented by the New Republic bureaucracy. And the "redeemed" Imperial Officer Kane. Despite this Teva tracks down the Mandalorian covert. Pleading for them to help instead. After some deliberation and the support of Paz Visula they agree to liberate Nevarro. This is the most exciting point in the episode. As we get a small but full on battle featuring the entire covert taking on the pirate corvette in the skies and the troops on the ground.

The episode ends with our heros being rewarded with settlement on Nevarro, this time not being in the sewers but instead wide open pastures.

And with the promise that mandalore will be retaken.

First Kickass Episode of the Season. People need to cheer up seriously.
Adam-0926529 March 2023
Honestly you have people basically calling it another filler and others calling it a copy of Pirates of the Caribbean. I mean What?! It wasn't a bad episode in the slightest, not a 10/10 but not how people are making it out. Don't believe the critics. This episode had progression on the Mandalorians and story, not a filler.

When i started watching this episode i could tell it was going to be great already due to the build up of music and the flowing cinematography. Wasn't too sure on certain subplot characters returning but the rest of the episode justified it well. Going against my review from the previous episode, the Mandalorians actually seemed badass again. Even Din Djarin himself had flawless screen time. It's just a pity it's taken this long to get an episode like this because this is why i started watching The Mandalorian.

The last scene has so many questions it makes me actually intrigued for the series again.

9.1/10.

I guess Bo Katan is the main character
knollkids3 April 2023
This episode was pretty solid. It just feels a bit off for me. Shouldn't mando be the main character? I thought this season would be about him atoning for removing his helmet. Now it's about Bo Katan uniting all mandalorians. It's fine, but it couldn't have been mando uniting them? He's the title character, and he also has walked both paths. It just makes more sense. I don't see how mando fits in in the coming episodes. It looks like he will just be there to be there. Side note- why does Navarro, aka a whole planet, have like twenty citizens? Seriously, it really threw me off. Just hire some more extras.

This is the way
eoinpgeary29 March 2023
Another decent episode in the season, I think we are finally finding a storyline that will be followed.

The episode is that the planet is being attacked and one of the republic fighters goes to Mandalore to ask for help to get rid of the pirates.

We get a good 15 minute action sequence and the end of the episode really shows where we will be going for the remainder of the season.

I do understand the criticism of the season, quite slow, no real motivation, no story just small mini adventures and yes that can be tedious and I have felt that in some episodes but I do think after today it will be headed in a solid direction. 7.5/10.

the pirate - we are running out of time!
sfarrow829 March 2023
Where do i begin? Every episode of this season has left me feeling a little disappointed and underwhelmed. There have been excellent scenes but they are buried in a sea of mediocrity, i keep waiting for jon and dave to show me something special, to bring my love for this show back, but i'm consistently just feeling - meh.

Make no mistake, i LOVE The Mandalorian, the season two finale was the most special experience i've had watching a tv show, and i've counted down the days to season three since it was announced. Which is why it pains me so much to tell all of you fine folks that this episode (and vast majority of this season) feels like nothing more than somewhat enjoyable filler, i'm naively optimistic that the finale will check more boxes, but for now i hate to say that i'm just not feeling the same way about the direction the narrative is taking.

Mando has taken a back seat this season, bo katan is a great character but this is not her show, this is not what i tune in every wednesday at 8am for. I understand the desire to flesh out the mandalorian culture and creed by exploring more characters, but do we have to have to pick between din djarin and that? Why do i feel like the main character is sidelined consistently? Why is the plot not revolving around him? And the story? Each episode would make a great one off - this episode most of all, but i do not feel there is as much thought put into the deeper interconnectivity of the show compared to previous arcs and storylines. Where are we going? Will it be worth it?

I was worried that they wouldn't be able to top the season 2 finale but now i'm finding that so far they can't even top any of the episodes in season 2. The Book of Boba Fett's "Return of the Mandalorian" was better than any of these almost above average attempts. We're at episode 5 now, 3 more episodes and it's back to waiting another 2 years, none of this season has felt worth the wait. I hope i'm proven wrong in the next few episodes but guys I am WORRIED. Come on Jon and Dave, these next three HAVE to rectify the wobbly start.

P. S. - first review, thanks for reading (or not)

Now we're talking!
and_mikkelsen30 March 2023
Yeah this was a pretty cool episode that gave off season 1 vibes at times! If you are gonna do a side-quest, make if fun and engaging with some great action, cool moments, great character moments and great direction! Reminded me of season 2 episode 1

This season has very much felt like a slow burn, with no clear path... until the last part of this episode! Now it feels like there is a main goal/objective for the remaining of the season and you have an idea of what to expect! With only 3 episodes left you could say its a little to late, but then i remebered that season 1 were also very episodic in nature!

The soundtrack was also strangely good! First time I can say that this season! It really stuck out at times! It is clear that Bo Khatan is gonna be the most important character this season! I really hope the last 3 episodes are gonna be bangers, for the overall reception of this season to be good!

What Happened?
iaiaiiusgsdglasccga30 March 2023
This whole season has just been odd, there really hasn't been an episode yet that's been able to capture the charm of the first two seasons nor the quality. This has been a season full of inconsistency, confusion, messiness, and contrivances. The dialogue and acting is bad, the visuals are inconsistent, the writing is all over the place and everything has just sort of gone downhill. The poor execution of the various plots and is making this season very underwhelming. It's crazy because season's 1 & 2 (Season 1 especially) were so cool and had this gritty western feel to them giving the show it's charm, now it's been lost with all of this messy Marvel slapstick humor style writing. I don't know man I just feel like things are rapidly going downhill...

Corporate Star Wars Vision
saint_brett31 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 5 sees a Norwegian seahorse spaceship sail into town threatening Apollo Creed, who looks like he's ready to settle in for the evening with his afternoon paper, slippers, and hot chocolate.

Moss Man opens fire on a Universal Studio's backlot set right next door to the clock tower from Hill Valley, while a hybrid C-3PO, with an EV-9D9 head, runs around imitating golden rods every move and intricacy.

The beachside scenery here reminds me of that 80's show where that little stumpy dude, with a bung eye, used to say, "De plane, De plane."

An economy Mos Eisley cantina scene uses a top 100 countdown song from the Star Wars universe, (it's song 100,) and this is where you're wrong, Disney. Look at your X-Wing's standing around the bar, (playing 8 ball,) they're off-duty yet still wearing their uniforms. Wow.

Oh, it's the Mr Miyagi wannabe from season one. He borrows a turntable off a transgender Snaggletooth and receives a distress hologram message from Apollo Creed, who's pleading for emergency biscuits, or popsicles?

Since when did the Star Wars universe become this bland concrete jungle?

Miyagi hooks up with Piston Hurricane on the same set where Ringo Starr received his package of biscuits from episode 2. You don't know who Piston Hurricane is, do ya?

So, this is the future of Star Wars with all these boring actors and characters? Boy, aren't we in safe hands? I can't wait to buy all these action figures.

Apollo Creed leads all the Road Warrior "fuel defenders" on a trek across the wastelands of Planet Droll, or Graysville, (Imagine Christmas here and how bleak it would be.) He promises that help is on the way. Yeah what - to save Disney from Lucasfilm?

In a small world, and with no one else to turn to, Miyagi asks the Boba Fett tribe for their help.

Are Disney, and Lucasfilm, aware that Boba Fett's clan are baddies? They're not good guys, you know? So why did you flip the script? You turned the Tusken Raiders into good guys as well.

Disney, and Lucasfilm, must be cost-cutting if they have to reuse Nick Nolte's Kuiil character, who's now the ship's first mate baddy for Moss Man.

There's even a hybrid Yak Face on board, which resembles a corpse from Ezra Cobb's farmhouse in the movie 'Deranged.' "Everyone wants to meet you, Mary." (How can she touch Ezra when her hands are tied?)

"They've got you outnumbered ten to one," says Apollo Creed as Mando comes under fire. It doesn't matter though, he'll still win. It doesn't matter if it's a hundred to one, or ten to one, he always wins.

This Nikto character, with the bad case of acne, and British accent, is just a hybrid Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter. How does he breathe with no nose? Wouldn't his face explode?

A clunky Boba Fett, wielding this heavy T2 gun, has already been done before. As was the special cannon that requires assembling. They filmed that in season one, episode one already.

The Moss Man character goes down in a blaze of glory. Like does anyone care? I didn't even get that things name. Was Moss Man a baddy, or a good guy, in He-Man?

I've never heard a guitar strum score before in Star Wars.

The show acts like it's shrouded in all this mystery and holds many a great secret waiting to be explored, but its desperation is on display for all to see as the struggling writers behind it are just stretching out tired, old, formats. What did Vader say again? "You should not have come back." Season 3 of 'The Mandalorian' should not have come back, people.

Basically, this episode has elevated Bo Katan as head of Boba Fett's tribe where she's ordered to leave town to go gather more of their kind, from other planets, so that they can bash up any potential bad boys in future episodes of this unnecessary series. (Safety in numbers.) Female empowerment rules again.

It's revealed at the end that Moth Gideon is still in the game and that rogue Mandalorian's saved him, (Small world,) and Bo Katan is on a blind mission to meet these very people in the next episode.

Meaning, the season finale will pit Mandalorian Vs Mandalorian and the princess, from another castle, will need saving by what's-his-name?

No doubt he'll also slay Moth Gideon with that fail-safe light blazer of his while the bathtub Zelda dragon will make its grand appearance and breathe fire, and the green gherkin will put in a cameo and perform some circus trick of Jedi proportions, and all the new generation of Star Wars fans will be pregnant with TV, and besides themselves, with tickled pink enthusiasm. (Baseless and stupid, taught to be nothing at all.)

Mandalorian season 3 is a dud. I'd rather see Mon Mothma, in a sleazy part of Jabba's palace, do a striptease, or wrestle in mud, with Sy Snootles than watch corporate bigwigs narrating formulaic propaganda that's designed to brainwash parents into buying merchandise for their children. (Did they release the McMandalorian value meal yet that comes with a little plush Funko Pop? Or how about a collector's mug with a design on it that's wash proof?)

Three more episodes of this will be like serving three life sentences. Hurry up and end already! Send me an early release. I want out.

Oh yeah, baby Yoda does absolutely nothing in this episode. As Dinah Bellman said in 'The Langoliers,' "Not a bloody thing." Nothing. Zilch. Squat. Nada. Zero.

That's largely thanks to Lucasfilm's writers lack of imagination.

Epic!

Warning: Spoilers
What a cool episode, this is the way. Great set-up for the future as well with the new Mando "hideout", Bo Katan ready to unite all mandalorians, Gideon escaping,... The fight scenes where awesome too, epic dogfight combined with a great ground assault! I really hope they're going to keep at it, the pase was good too. The beginning of Mandalorian season 3 was a bit on and off for me, didn't really know what to think of the pirate in episode one, but they handled it really good! It's also cool to see the mandalorians in the light of day instead of hiding all the time like rats in the sewers. All in all, very epic episode!

Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely amazing, couldn't ask more of it. It's so frustrating to see these reviews, "seems like filler," "that was pointless," "just transitional." Nah. The entire season has been setting up huge plot beats with delayed payoff, and we just turned the corner.

We've seen Mandalore, and know it isn't poisoned. We've seen Nevarro, and knew it needs help, and now the Mandos have a home. We've seen Coruscant, and the deep flaws in the New Republic. We've seen our heroes win over Paz Vizsla and cause the Armorer to have a change of heart. If I were a betting man, the season will end at the prelude to the retaking of Mandalore, and that will be the main thrust of S4.

My only disappointment is that I really, really wanted the Mandos to steal themselves a small capital ship...

Kid... Never trust a pirate.
XweAponX30 March 2023
The senior Star Wars fan Writes.

We have here... Yet another Mandalorian episode that brings us back to the first planet of the new republic, Coruscant.

A 41 minute episode, even. Although several minutes at the end accommodate the wonderful Ralph McQuarrie style paintings and the beautiful music by Ludwig Göransson assisted by Joseph Shirley. Which I have no complaints about, I recognized some new themes in the music.

So, Coruscant- Where we run into Moff Gideons' large-muscled Lieutenant once again.

Now we know that it is not coincidence that she keeps showing up at certain times and in certain places. Somehow, she reminds me of the large woman from the force awakens... and we never really did see her face before she was blown up in the last Jedi. Of course, we know that she is really the gigantic woman from Game of Thrones that could beat the stuffing out of The Hound. But that was just the actress that portrayed the giant woman that scared the BeJesus out of one particular storm trooper...

This is also the first episode of the Mandalorian that hints toward titanic events from the last three movies, something insidious is brewing in this galaxy. We already know that this is going to happen, it has happened, it will happen. What we see here are the jigsaw pieces of this impending catastrophe. But just remember: with every catastrophe comes a eucatastrophe. Maybe even a "Dyad" in the force.

We get to revisit Navarro and "Grief" Karga... Who at one point was loudly proclaiming his planet's independence and non-alignment to the imperial remainders or the new republic. No longer.

This is the end result of proclaiming independence: there is nobody available to help you when trouble comes knocking.

And it falls upon one familiar X-Wing pilot who tries to do the right thing, but is basically dismissed by a bean counter/pencil pusher (or whatever the new republic uses as pencils in this future). And perhaps we knew what this pilot was going to do before we even see it happening. There was only one thing he could do.

And so the Mandalorians are asked to return to the very place where they sacrificed much. Except now, they are much better prepared.

And one room-elephant gets dealt with- The Mythosaur that was seen only by Bo-Kaatan.

This causes a major change in the way, and in the Armorer- Who we previously assumed was unbending and legalistic, we now see that changing.

But will all Mandalorians walk this new way? Perhaps some of them, whom we have not yet seen, are not willing to walk this way. And we have to remember that Bo-Kaatan had lost all of her followers.

I have heard a lot of complaints about this season, but I believe they are baseless. There is a very interesting story being developed here, and it is being presented to us in chunks, in little pieces, in little hints. Some of it was told in the book of Boba Fett. This is a story that does not leave very much to coincidence.

Where is this show going...
N0kk_29 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is the first review Im writing and thats because I don't have that much will to write one, but after 5 really bad episodes I just felt I should write one.

- For me "The Mandalorian" was one of the best TV-Series. Season 1 and 2 were absolute masterpieces and they had that "Magic" of keeping you entertained and excited, but we come to season 3 and this "Magic" is absolutely gone.

- Is it just me or are the showrunners really trying to do a love story between Din and Bo-Katan, or even worse to replace Din with Bo-Katan? As I see it the show is called "The Mandalorian" the mandalorian Din Djarin, not "A Mandalorian" telling the story of Din Djarin and then hopping over to Bo-Katan.

- Also i'm not sure how others enjoy watching 20-35min long episode, because by the time I get comfy and excited the episode ends.

- I gave this episode a 9/10 for the sole reason that I still believe that this show will somehow "revive" itself by the end of S3, but.....

The show is off the mark
maxbr-5012929 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A solid 9/10 episode - Good world building, great action sequences and finally a story to get excited about.

This season was starting to worry me with quality dropping down to the level of The Book of Boba Fett. But finally, after 4 episodes of predominantly character development and little to no advancements in the overarching story, we get what we were waiting for. We even got a cliffhanger to end on.

Greef Karga and the people of Navarro find themselves in a desperate situation when the pirates from earlier in the season come back to take over the planet. With the New Republic unable to help, it is up to The Mandalorian to help his friend. Action packed and tense throughout, this chapter really steps up the quality of the season - leaving the viewers with a lot to look forward to in the last few episodes and beyond.

WHAT AN EPISODE
shuva-6414229 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What an incredible show, seriously! I wish so much that the Mandalorian was more than 8 episodes per season, because I can't believe there is only 3 episodes left! To the people that have said that this season had not let to anything, this is the episode to watch. Everything building up and what comes forward becomes clear in the Pirate, and what an episode it was. It's clear that Bo-Katan and Din are going to be the bridge between the Covert and the rest of the Mandalorians, I don't think that Bo will go on this mission by herself, and probably Din and Grogu will be with her. But the biggest take from this episode is for sure the ending, that confirms the return of Gideon and gives the question of who liberated him, with the beskar found in the ship being a coy probably to turn the eyes of the New Republic against the Mandalorians. Omg what an episode! And let's not forget of course.....THE FREAKING LIVE ACTION DEBUT OF SEB! I had to pause the episode and rewind it like 3 times to just soak it in. Gosh I love Star Wars.

No Grogu? No problem (mostly)
sevskirita31 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It seems it's true. The writing of this show becomes much much better when Baby Can't-Touch-Two-Wires-Together-But-Is-A-Full-Trained-Youngling Yoda's inconsistent character isn't there to muddy it up. I think this episode still had a couple large issues, but let's talk about what it gets right

The main plot of this episode is fire. It used its strips well to set the stage for this conflict, and the action is fantastic. The characters have a very nice arc and Mando and Paz's monologues are pretty on point. Learning about the New Republic and Gideon's escape were nice additions to the episode. And yeah, it was cool to see Zeb and they did a great job with his appearance.

That said, I think this episode had some big issues. Mainly, I don't buy the "Walks both worlds" explanation to the rest of the Mandalorians.

Realistically, yes, having Bo Katan be the evangelist for this cult is a pretty great idea and may even require her to show her face. But the dialogue here doesn't sell that well to the rest of the cult. The natural reaction is going to be "so she arrives here, plays Child of the Watch for a few days, and now all the sudden she's left off the hook forever"?

It just doesn't work very well and the Armorer very much set up Bo to be hated once again by this cult. Maybe that's intentional, maybe the Armorer doesn't like Bo, but I don't think that was the point.

The issue becomes even more glaring when they have a fairly easy out right within this season: the Living Waters. The Armorer easily could have sold this as Bo Katan doing whatever is necessary to bring the other Mandalorians to the Living Waters to purify both them and herself. The Armorer just isn't trying very hard to make the rest of the Children think that she isn't just making up rules and loopholes to this whole "The Way" thing as she goes.

Another issue I have is with Greef Karga's plan to evacuate the city. Why are you going on plains? I can't think of a more easy target for Pirate King than a bunch of people on a vast flat plain, and it's a wonder he doesn't notice the city's evacuating out the literal front gate.

Again, this is something that they could've easily remedied by a plot point they already established. The old Mandalorian covert's hideout looks completely untouched by Pirate King's bombardment, and if they absolutely must leave the city, we know that this way leads out to the lava flats (but this way they Pirate King can't physically see with a mere glance where they've gone).

So yes, no Grogu=pretty good episode, but the mistakes made here are pretty large and puzzling. 7/10, would've been 9/10 were it not for the large errors.

It's like puzzle coming together

Warning: Spoilers
Zeb!!!

Oh yes, Zeb appearing made my day! A setup for future episodes/series I am looking forward to very much! He looked very good and it makes me very happy that they brought his VA from Rebels.

The whole Mandalorians plotline is set up to be great and very interesting by this episode. Possible Sabine appearance now that we have Zeb? Hopefully! Is a fight for dark saber incoming?

I liked the action scenes, I think they were made brilliantly. The pirate crew looked really diverse and interesting, the captain looked like a true futuristic pirate! Their ship was also very cool. Grogu as cute as always, nothing else to say.

Are you also tired of Grogu?

This is more like it. After a shaky start to this new season, we are back on track. The established characters and storylines are coming together now. It's even possible to appreciate the episode two weeks ago.

The action is as good as it ever has been. It's cool to see the Mandalorians act like a special military force. We do not see a lot of strategy in Star Wars so it was good. The stories revolving Bo-Katan and Mando are very interesting and we seem to have an actual clear objective for this season now (which is great).

Honestly, Grogu is not cute anymore. He does not seem to be very intelligent and he walks slowly. I don't know if Disney can keep playing him as this cute little baby because it's getting annoying. He is 50 years old and he can't be this naive right? The biggest problem is that his writing is so inconsistent. Sometimes he gets flashbacks and can handle himself and find Bo-Katan on a different planet, but at other times he is just a little baby who can't do anything on his own. Is this sweet little act not getting old? I think so. If they took Grogu more seriously that would benefit the show and its storytelling.

Crossover Power rangers and the muppets

I still like the mandalorian. But the magics is disappearing. The "villians" are fake as f. They look like a blend between the first season of star Trek aliens and the muppets. The other mandolorians act and move more and more like the power rangers. I get the feeling they got some cossplayers to fill the gaps in actors and costumes.

The action scenes are badass. The story is from time to time intriguing.

The culture of the mandalorians is fascinating.

I hope the story keeps evolving. I'm glad that the pirates are gone now.

It raises the question were are the mandalorians in the last movies?

Stronger than previous episodes but...

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is certainly the best of the season (which doesn't say much) and the last 10 minutes setup what is presumably the ultimate purpose of the season: reclaiming Mandalore.

I enjoyed most of the big fight scene and am also really curious to find out more about what we learned in the last few minutes. I like the idea of Bo Katan being the one who will unite the various clans of mandalorians. However, this episode still has many of the same weaknesses as those that came before it.

The dialogue felt especially rushed and clunky in the scene when Din is convincing the others to fight on Nevarro. I didn't feel convinced as an audience members as to why these notoriously stubborn and cautious mandalorians would ever return to a world in which they were nearly driven to extinction.

The Pirate captain was still laughable and impossible to take seriously. His costume design looks like a Seasame Street puppet went through a garbage disposal. The pirates in general feel like villains from a Saturday morning cartoon.

The score has also truly disappointed this season. Losing Göransson was such a disappointment and his absence has certainly been felt. All of the music is either straight up copy and pasted from prior seasons or sloppily thrown together scores that sound like they belong in a Disney Channel movie.

Here is my ultimate gripe with the show: why did it take FIVE of eight total episodes to reveal the big overarching plot of the season? We only have three episodes left and I don't know if there's any way for the writers to have written a well paced and cohesive story given the limited amount of screen time they have left themselves with. Seriously, the first five episodes could have easily been reduced to three. I just don't understand what's going on over at Disney. Hoping for the best in the coming weeks.
