Steven Spielberg is close to agreeing a deal to direct a new film about Moses, which is described as a biblical blend of Braveheart and Saving Private Ryan.
The Warner Bros project, which has a working title of Gods And Kings, will not be in 3D and is not a remake of Cecil B. DeMille's 1956 epic The Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston.
An insider told Deadline: "There have been glossy versions of the Moses story but this would be a real warrior story", adding it would be a "Braveheart-ish version."
Spielberg read the script by Stuart Hazeldine and Michael Green last September. Hazeldine is also a writer on Paradise Lost, Alex Proyas's upcoming action fantasy film based on Milton's poem, while Green was among the scribes on Green Lantern.
It's worth noting that in 2009, Twentieth Century Fox picked up another Moses project that was also envisaged as similar to Braveheart.

A policeman, Hatch ( Todd Mann) cuts himself and his skin falls off, only his blood and entrails are left behind. Ooh Dean (Jensen Ackles) get a shirt! Dean is dreaming, Sam (Jared Padalecki) is exercising and Dean's on the road. So we see him naked too! Sam's been with a pro, (Julia Voth) which he wouldn't really do if he was the 'old' Sam. He pays her and where was Dean's tattoo as Sam still has his? Sam throws her card away - well he can hook up with anyone and he does that as routine now. Sam is in Pennsylvania and Dean tells him it's been one and a half days, since they were just on a case, Sam likes to work. Dean: "Who died and made you boss?" That's a loaded question for this show considering the number of deaths of lead characters and others. So don't answer that Sam.

Joe Manganiello is excited about the new season of True Blood. “Oh my god, I can’t f—ing wait. The fact that they’re basically busy casting an entire new pack of werewolves is unbelievable. There’s going to be like a werewolf show within the show this year, so I’m like a kid about it!” I'm hoping that means a lot of were-booty onscreen.
Just go look at the Moses Bridge in the Netherlands. I love that people still think of public space like this.
Black Sabbath, including Ozzy Osbourne, are reuniting for their first studio album in 33 years and are planning to tour together in 2012.
Evidently, you can suppress your gag reflex by squeezing your left thumb inside your fist. I'm not going to question the scientific method used to test this, but is sounds like potentially useful news.

Philip William McKinley, the stage director who replaced Julie Taymor and stopped the bleeding -- literally and figuratively -- on Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, will next tackle something even more iconic than a superhero saga: The Old Testament. He’s directing The Bible: The Beginning, a live show scaled for arena-sized venues that will use music, dialogue, tumblers, jugglers, singers, aerialists and fighters to re-enact the Creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah’s Ark, Moses and his clash with the Pharaoah, the plagues of Egypt and the parting of the Red Sea, all culminating in the delivery of The Ten Commandments. The musical will be narrated by Gabriel the Messenger; Raphael the Healer; and Michael, Leader of God’s armies. The show will be more logistically complex than Spider-Man, which, McKinley swears, won’t need a miracle to recoup a mammoth budget pegged at $70 million before it opened.

While working on another post earlier today, I learned that a certain high-profile filmmaker was born and died on the same day (obviously many years apart). For whatever reason, this piqued my interest enough to go on a little scavenger hunt to try to find out how many other notable people from the world of film could say the same (that is, of course, if they weren’t already dead). I came up with the following list…
actress Edna May Oliver (November 9, 1883-November 9,1942) actor Otto Kruger (September 6, 1885-September 6, 1974) actress Nan Grey (July 25, 1918-July 25, 1993) director Yazujiro Ozu (December 12, 1903-December 12-1963), actress Ingrid Bergman (August 29, 1915-August 29, 1982)
They are in good company. Others who beat 1:365 odds (0.274%) include…
biblical figure Moses (1391 B.C.-1271 B.C.) explorer Juan Ponce de Leon (1474-1521) painter Raphael (April 6, 1483 – April 6, 1520) playwright William Shakespeare (April 23, 1564-April 23, 1616) feminist Betty Friedan (February 4, 1921-February 4, 2006) gangster George “Machine Gun” Kelly (July 18, 1895-July...

I was thinking about writing this for quite some time, but never got to do it, and thought that it was too late. But now that the show's postponed, I guess I have the time.
Let's all agree that Supernatural did a 180 this season. There were quite a few big changes. It was still good though, but different. I understand that maybe they wanted to change the formula a bit after Sam went to hell, but there are some things I hope they wouldn't have messed with. So, here's a few things I wanna see back in this half of the season:
1) RockN'Roll ain't noise pollution- I don't know about you, but was looking forward to a bad-ass The Road So Far clip with some AC\DC in the season premiere. Not only was there no such clip (Which Could be forgiven thanks to the nice new life montage), but...

Preface - Written over the winter hiatus so the secret about Sam has already been revealed. I am a wuss about all things gross so I have been dreading this recap. Plus, this episode bores me, I hate angel plot lines, and all the characters become douches. Yes, even the main ones. Needless to say, skip this recap if you're a fan. However, there is bright light in the future because next time I get to recap Weekend at Bobby's and I love me some Bobby!
Previously - Sam's alive and hunting, Dean's ticked about the year absence, Dean's torn between Lisa/Ben and hunting, Lisa was super awesome, The Impala's Back!!!!, Raphael waited in a holy circle, Cas was awesome, Raphael needs inflection, the Apocalypse finally ended, and Cas went to heaven - Phew! That's a lot. The important thing is that Metallicar is back and beautiful as ever.

The third episode of the season: this is traditionally around the time when the initial hook storylines and the follow-up of finale themes make way for the new themes, and where the main arc of the season is introduced. This sounds about right, doesn’t it? “The Third Man” (aside from having an awkward repeat word, "man", in the title, which is reminiscent of the ever confusing consecutive Alias episode titles "Double Agent" and "A Free Agent") reintroduced, well, the third man in the Spn fandom and set up some major players for the meat-and-potatoes chunk of the season, giving us a pretty decent idea of what’s to come…

As the season 6 of ‘Supernatural’ progresses, the differences between Dean and Sam is becoming more evident. While Dean has almost regained his hunter capacity, he is still having residual dream of Lisa. The brothers are finally reunited and now they are getting prepared. While Dean is all about stretching, twisting and bulking up for the upcoming onslaught we can see that Sam is more intent on doing pull ups, pushups and well hookers. Yes it did surprise the audience when they first saw this side of Sam.
On this episode we see a group of corrupt officials getting killed one by one in true supernatural vigilante style. The brothers start looking for the person or force behind the incidents. The way Dean cuts in front of Sam shows us that the brothers have reinforced their bonds.

Supernatural Episode 6.3 "The Third Man" Written By: Ben Edlund Directed By: Bob Singer Original Airdate: 8 October 2010 In This Episode... Sam and Dean investigate the biblical deaths of three cops. The first turned to a puddle of blood. The second was covered with huge, hideous boils - inside and out. The third had his brain eaten away by locusts. The boys call Cas, and he explains that these deaths could only be as a result of Moses's staff. Several of heaven's weapons were stolen, and in the wrong hands - Raphael's soldiers - they could bring about the apocalypse the Winchesters fought so hard to avoid. Turns out...

So, is Dean back to full hunter capacity? Sort of.
He's having dreams of being with Lisa still, as the residual effects of suburban life haven’t left him yet. As for getting prepared, the two brothers are on two different wavelengths. Dean is all about a couple twists, stretches, and some food, while Sam pushes his body to pull ups, push ups, and hookers.
Hookers? Yes, the changes in Sam are certainly becoming more evident.
On "The Third Man," the initial problem the boys face is a group of corrupt policemen being stricken with bizarre deaths: blood, boils, and locusts. The brothers attempt to find out who or what is behind the killings, but not before a little competition.
As Sam is driving towards the house, Dean pulls his car out from a side street and cuts him off. Just because Dean’s been out of the game for...

The boys – Sam, Dean and Cas – are all back this week and it finally, finally, finally feels like we’re really getting back into the old groove of Supernatural.
Reunited…and it Feels so Good?
Here’s all you really need to know about the first five minutes of this episode: We’ve got a shirtless Padalecki exercising – which was both cheesy in an ‘80s exercise montage kind of way and ridiculously hot – and bonus shirtless Ackles. Also, Sam, for some ridiculous reason, is sleeping with hookers. It’s preposterous that a guy who looks like that has to pay for it.
Somewhere in the midst of all this exposed flesh, the boys reunited in Pennsylvania, where Sam tells Dean to meet him for a case. The case, which we were exposed to in the first few minutes, involved the liquefying of a cop. I mistakenly thought last week’s...

Cas it back on the October 8 new episode of Supernatural! Castiel returns to Supernatural on the October 8 episode and things are not looking up for our favorite angel. The archangel Raphael, who Dean and Cas first met back in early season 5, is back and doesn’t seem all that happy with Cas. The CW has released some promo photos and a synopsis for this upcoming episode, which you can view below.
Also, success! Dean has untucked his shirt. Dean’s shirt is now as much of a marker for timelines as Sam’s hair.

For baby name purists the search for the perfect moniker often begins and ends with the Bible. Featuring countless names that have endured for thousands of years, it is the epitome of traditional — offering time-honored appeal to both celebrities and non-celebrities alike.

The Gloomers, a new animated cartoon series debuting at Comic Con this year, released its first Halloween episode today. www.facebook.com/thegloomers
The Halloween episode stars famed horror director and Evil Dead II writer Scott Spiegel, who plays himself in the cartoon.
The Gloomers series is the brainchild of Charles Mechem, who was CEO of Taft Broadcasting, which owned Hanna Barbera for over 20 years. The Gloomers includes Neal Barbera, son of Joe Barbera, as a writer. Neal Barbera wrote a number of classic Hanna Barbera scripts for Yogi Bear, Scooby Doo and many others.
No matter how bad your day is, The Gloomers’ day is always worse.

Despite being nominated for Best Drama and having its star Anna Paquin win Best Actress in a TV Drama at this year's Golden Globes, "True Blood" was shut out of the major categories for the 2009 Emmy Awards, which announced its nominees earlier today. But that's not to say it, and a few other genre-related shows, won't be showing up at the party.
