Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • A vampire squeezes blood from soiled linens after his wife's birth into shotglasses so he can drink it. Not "violent" but very gross.
  • A vampire young girl is briefly shown feeding on a baby. No evident bloody detail and the baby survives, but very shocking and unexpected.
  • Early on in the episode, split-second flashbacks from previous episodes of gruesome animal corpses are seen. Later, another dead animal is fed on by a human but little detail is visible due to the darkness of the shot.
  • A baby's umbilical cord is cut in closeup.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The plot of the season as a whole revolves around a fictional pill with addictive quantities, and it is seen being taken in this episode as expected. This is of low impact due to the fact that this episode does not depict usage of other drugs.
  • Occasional undetailed verbal references to drugs, including a character mentioning being a former "meth-head".

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Sustained theme of gaslighting and manipulation; multiple characters team up in an effort to get a sympathetic character to doubt her own sanity. Verbal cruelty throughout the episode, may be potentially upsetting to those who have dealt with similar situations.
  • There is some threat to a baby, and scenes where vampires discuss feeding on newborns, which may unsettle.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A man's throat is gruesomely ripped out by a woman; lots of blood and gore is visible though it is over fairly quickly. The woman has blood on her mouth for the rest of the scene.
  • Near the end, a very explicit scene of suicide by wrist-cutting is depicted as a woman walks into the sea to succumb to her wounds. Viewers who are triggered by suicide should be aware that this scene is very confronting due to its detail and is maybe the strongest depiction of suicide in the series so far.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A woman gradually falls victim to a zombie-like state brought on by a drug, which may be disturbing due to the fact that she is one of the few innocent characters remaining. Her hair falls out as a result of this. Other "pale people" are shown as in other episodes, but here their inclusion is more intense due to multiple close-call attacks by them and emphasis on their unnatural movements.
  • As mentioned, many will find the suicide scene upsetting to watch.
