- Mac and Desi have dinner at Mac's place, and Desi asks if he was going to ask her to marry him in Mexico City. Mac admits that he did and he wanted it to be a surprise. When Desi asks if he really wants to go from dating to marriage so quickly, and Mac says he did it because he was afraid of losing her. Desi says that she was engaged once before, to someone in her unit. Before she can explain further, Matty them into Phoenix. Mac asks if they'll finish the conversation later, and Desi hesitantly agrees.
Later at the Phoenix war room, Matty briefs the team via Skype that Princess Rani Kumari is soon getting married to the prime minister's son, Oliver Hughes. The press have dubbed it "Oliver's Rocking Marriage," and the couple have become the new It Couple on social media. There have been threats against them, and agencies such as Interpol have said that some of the reports might be credible. The king of the country, Bikaner is insisting that only his royal guard be trusted with security. King Sumil's pride won't allow outside security, as Rani becomes the Queen of Bikaner once the marriage is completed. Rani will take over the country's mineral business, and she has gone on records that she'll open the zinc to the global market unlike her father. Extremist groups in the country opposite it, and there's been criticism from factions in the UK.
Phoenix has been asked by key allies to make sure the couple are protected. The wedding is invites-only, and Riley hacks the invitation list. Matty sends Mac, Desi, and Russ in.
Later, the team meets in the lab and Riley shows them the IDs she's "borrowed" from guests who originally declined the invitations. They fly to Bikaner by the Phoenix jet, and Matty tells them that Wilt will be running the op while she follows up a lead on the nano-trackers and the 48114 number on one chip. Her contacts have confirmed that the nano-trackers were given rather than manufactured in-country, and she wants the team to focus on the wedding.
Matty coordinates with Parker, who notices footage of President Petrovic shaking everyone's hands. She sends the footage to Matty when Matty requests it.
In Bikaner on the day before the wedding, Russ is selected for a pat down by the security. Mac congratulates Desi on her dress, and Russ comes over and tells them that they're officially in. Sofia is there and sees Mac, and the two of them talk. Meanwhile, Mac and Desi go over their schedule, and Mac asks about Desi's ex. Desi tries to beg off, and Mac says that he didn't want to make the same mistake her ex did. She tells Mac that the man died, and asks Mac to give it a rest.
Sofia asks Russ why he's there, and Rudolph Von Stupenson, the count of Austria, comes over. Smilingly, Sofia introduces Russ under his cover identity.
Mac and Desi check the catering staff, and Desi suspects one waiter who has nothing but rice under his dome. She bumps into Rani, who is snacking. Rani jokingly asks if Desi is there to get on her father's good side or Oliver's, and Desi says that she's trying to get on Rani's good side. Oliver's ex-girlfriend, Elise Deveroux, comes over and says that she can't make the Pithi. Once she leaves, Rani excuses herself and Desi tells the others that she's made contact with Rani.
Russ "borrows" Sofia from Von Stupenson, and asks why she left him without a word. Before Sofia can answer, Wilt directs Russ and others to the loading dock, where someone is abducting Rani. The abductors and the security forces exchange shot. Mac uses a strap from a nearby truck to pull the chain off the motorcycle the abductor is using. They confirm the man is one of the flower vendors, just as more security men show up and arrest Mac, Desi, and Russ for kidnapping Rani.
The guards take the agents to a private room and the head of security, Nitesh, questions them. They suggests that he call Wilt. Rani comes in and tells Nitesh to let them now. Russ explains that Interpol and MI6 sent them, and Desi apologize for lying to Rani earlier.
Sumita, an older woman, says that she's the king's advisor and gives them full cooperation to ensure Rani's security. Russ then questions the vendor with Sumita's translation, offering him a reduced sentence in return for his cooperation. The abductor says nothing, and Russ has Sumita cut the AC and lets him sit.
Russ then meets with Mac and Desi, who have confirmed that Nitesh is a member of Blue Arrow, an extremist group. They've also checked Elise, who has bad blood with Rani. Riley has found a wire transfer from Oliver's trust fund, to 3,000 acres of local land. Wilt suggests that Oliver's mother Bella has business ties to overseas big pharma, and the zing-rich land could bring in a steady profit. Russ suggests that Bella is using the wedding to broker for land that otherwise wouldn't be obtainable.
Sofia listens at the door, and the agents spot her shadow underneath the door. Russ opens the door and greets her, and she barges in, spots Mac and Desi, figure they work for Russ' think tank, and Wilt and Riley listen in. Mac and Desi excuse themselves, and Sofia says that she needed space. She's realized that what they had is real, and Russ says that he thought so as well. Sofia suggests that they pick up where they left off, and the two of them kiss.
Parker gets the clip Matty requested, and Matty analyze the body language to pick out someone who will flip on Petrovic and get them to the nano-tracker broker.
Mac and Desi talk to Oliver, and he claims that he bought a gift for Rani for her elephant sanctuary. As Oliver storms out, Rani and Sumita come in from listening in. Sumita suggests that delay the wedding, and wants to keep Rani safe. Rani suggests that Desi act as her security, and Desi immediately agrees.
Mac goes back to Russ and tells him that they're sure Oliver is innocent. When Mac realizes that Russ and Sofia reunited, he tells Russ about Desi's previous engagement and how the man is dead. Mac says that Desi doesn't want to talk about it, and figures Desi should have told him a long time ago. Russ tells Mac to give Desi all the space she needs rather than push her away from soon.
Rani shows Desi a peacock tattoo she got to remember her dead mother, and Desi tells her that she also lost a loved one: her fiancée. Desi says that she thought she was over it, but it's holding her back from going all in with Mac. She explains that she, Oliver, and Elise were all at Oxford, and someone that could only have been Elise shoved her from behind.
Russ calls Mac and Desi to the interrogation room. Sumita arrives and says they found the abductor collapsed in his chair. Mac discovers that the prisoner was strangled, and figures that he was killed to cover up the loose ends... and send them a message.
Rani and Oliver arrive, and Oliver suggests that they should cancel the wedding. The princess refuses, but Sumita says that they should and her duty is to assure Rani's safety. Russ and Mac check the body, and discover that there is henna ink on the prisoner's nick. Elise had Henna on her hands but so did all of the female guests. Rani suggests that they check social media, but that only narrows it down to 250 suspects. Mac rigs an oxidation test using the minibar components to darken the ink and spot the killer. Rani and Oliver go to tell their parents, and Mac tells them to keep the attempt quiet because it could spook the killer.
Wilt has Riley prepare dossiers on all of the female guests. When Riley points out how hard it is, Wilt says that she saw her using her hacker handle. Riley says that she's mentoring girls that are like the "old her". She just wants to give them the same thing that Mac and Jack gave her, and she wants to do it on her own. Wilt drops the matter and goes back to work.
That night at the wedding party, Desi stays near Rani. Mac patrols the outside, while Russ watches the dance floor and spots Elise. Von Stupenson comes over and congratulates Russ, and says that he's relieved Sofia is with someone else and all she does is talk about some Incan treasure... like the one Russ told her about.
Parker tells Matty that the TAC team captured the man they identified as a potential asset, and Matty says that they've already found the broker and need to see who he reaches out to.
Russ spots Elise leaving, and she says that she's going to Monaco. He sees smudged henna from a tattoo on her risk, and Elise says that she wants to leave rather than see the man she loves marry someone else. Elise walks off, and Russ tells Wilt that he knows heartbreak when he sees it and Elise isn't the killer.
Mac and desi are sitting on a couch in the lounge outside of Rani's bedroom as Rani sleeps. Desi says that she's glad they're together at the wedding, and it isn't as hard as she thought. Mac offers her more time, but Desi says that her fiancee Evan went down in enemy territory and they never recovered his body. Desi says that she didn't want anyone to look at her, because nobody could separate her from the tragedy. That's why she left the service, and didn't date for a long time until she met Mac. Desi says that Mac is a lot like Evan, and she's worried that Mac might be an emotional stand-in for Evan. Mac doesn't take it very well, but says that it's harder for her than for him. He asks what it means for them, and Desi tells Mac that the last thing she wants to do is run away from him. Mac accepts that and says that they should work through it together.
Sofia comes to Russ' room and finds him together. He asks if she wants to steal more information about the treasure. Russ figures that she left him in LA before because she thought she had all the information she needed to find the treasure. Sofia says that she's doing it for her family, and her father drank all of their money. Russ asks why she didn't tell him the truth, and Sofia says the treasure is all that her family needs. Russ tells her that it doesn't make it better, and is appalled that it took her long to tell him the truth. He opens the door and tells them that their tryst has reached their expiration date.
The next day, Mac finishes the test and confirms when the henna was applied. Riley goes over the photos and they spot Sumita. Mac warns Desi, telling her that Sumita is the killer.
During the barrat, ceremonial parade for Oliver, Mac grabs Sumita while Russ stays close to Oliver. Mac drags Sumita into a closet and realizes that she's planted a bomb. Sumita only says that the bomb is waiting somewhere, and Mac tells Russ to look for the bomb. Meanwhile, Sumita manages to send a signal to her accomplices to grab Rani. Mac smashes the walkie-talkie and warns Desi, who fight the abductors as they run into Rani's quarters. She knocks them out and leads Rani out.
Mac rigs an ammonium nitrate sensor from storage supplies, and then searches the outside area. Russ realizes that the bomb is in the drum, and Mac comes over. He cuts open the drum and removes the bomb, and realizes that Sumita only was trying to take out the royal family. Mac can't disarm it, so uses a flower pot to contain the explosion.
Later, Rani questions Sumita. Sumita says that she realized Rani was going to throw away 300 years of tradition, and Rani knows nothing of foreign greed. Rani tells her that she never knew her own guardian, and leaves her with Nitesh. Nitesh takes Sumita away, and Rani thanks Mac, Russ, and Desi after they come in. Desi tells her to go out and have the wedding she's been dreaming of, and takes Rani's hands.
That night after the ceremony festivities, Mac talks to Desi at the reception, and Desi says that thinking about Evan made her feel guilty about her and Mac. Desi figures that she needs to let go of the past so that she can Mac can move forward. Mac smiles and kisses Desi, and then says that he'd like to know if he's an emotional stand-in for Even. He figures the only way for them to know is to have a normal life, and that the next logical step is for Desi to move in with him.
Sofia approaches Russ and tells him that she's been living a lie her entire life. She says that Von Stupenson's family had ties with the Nazis. Russ realizes that the Nazis found the treasure during World War II, and Sofia says that once she gets more intel from Von Stupenson, she and Russ should go looking for the treasure together.
Matty tunes into the war room and finds Wilt dancing in celebration. She notices that Riley isn't there.
Riley meets with the female hackers she's been conversing with, introduces herself as Artemis37, her old hacker ID, and welcomes them to the Brink... and says that they should get to work.
