An amazing yet a bit dragged story with many important messages for society
Krish_3696315 February 2022
Pehli Si Muhabbat, though it sounds like a typical romantic drama from its teasers and initial epsiodes, is sure something that we have recently not seen in Pak dramas. In a world of dramas revolving around women being shamed for everything they do in life, this one, though dragged, gives people the message that women are equal to men and should be considered so in every aspect of life, including in choosing their life partner.

The basic plot is about Aslam, who falls in love with Raqshi and she reeciprocates his feelings, but problems arise because Aslam is the brother of Akram, a man who opposes the second marriage of Raqshi's father to a younger prostitue, and because of his "izzat" (respect in society), orders him not to marry his love and even tries to separate them. Fate also plays an important part in their story.

Again, the story might sound typical, but as a person keeps watching the episodes, they will discover many aspects of society that are wrong but are considered as normal, being addressed as wrong, and the drama is actually worth watching just because of the message it gives in the end. Also, the actors have done a wonderful job specially Sheheryar and Maya as Aslam and Raqshi respectively, but also HSY as Akram, who made his debut with it, and Rabia Butt as Nargis, Raqshi's father's second wife. The rest of the cast is also commendable.

Overall, it is not a perfect show as it could've ended with 30 or 32 episodes but was dragged til 37th, but its OST, the messages on feminism, the performances, the end message, and the fact that it is written by Faiza Iftikhar are solid reasons to watch it. A drama that will definitely be remembered for the reasons mentioned above.

Overall pretty decent love story but should have less episodic!!
osiddiqui-517079 October 2021
It was a pretty decent show with heart warming live stories and brilliant performances. The last episode was really great and treat to watch. Had the show been less episodic and without unnecessary stretched to 30+ episodes it would have been awesome and phenomenal!!!

Increases the curiosity on what will happen next.
nasifafathima20 June 2021
Every episode in this show just makes u curious what will happen next n everytime when the episode ends u will always have that feeling why it ended so soon... And as for the main leads, Sheheryar Munawar and Maya Ali what an acting as Aslam and Rakshi. No words can describe it n also how can I not mention Rabia Butt aka Nargis. That bold women who doesn't let other people's negativity get into her and has a befitting replies to those who criticizes and talks behind her back.

Absolutely amazing - but not everyone will get it
Nimra_26 March 2022
PSM tugged at my heartstrings like no other.. every episode made me an emotional wreck, wondering why it's so hard for two people who love each other to be together.

I would like to give my little review on the ending of the serial (although I am no critique).

Many are complaining (I have read a lot of comments) saying "Bakwaas ending" "why did they drag the show if they were not supposed to be together" "fazool" "so disappointed" bla bla bla. And while everyone is entitled to their own opinion I believe if you look at it with an entire different perspective you will see what I see, what the writer, director, actors must have seen ? And what others who agree with my analogy of the ending believe.

A lot of people are confused and didn't understand the ending and my advise to them would be to watch the last episode again but this time clear your mind and heart of what YOU want to happen and just watch it again, you will understand. I believe everyone will have their own understanding of the ending and it wasn't supposed to be clearcut, we will all have different version and that's okay. It just depends what eyes you see it with.

I believe as humans we tend to project our feelings and energy into other people hence why we are always disappointed. There is also a degree of emotional involvement done by the audience into such a serial. I myself were emotionally involved and felt Rakhshi and Aslam's pain so personally although I can't say I have been through what they went through.

People want a happy ending and thats ok because reality is usually a lot different and it is an escape for some however I'm a realist and this is probably the best ending to a serial I have ever seen. While many will disagree with me the bittersweet ending is in fact what life is.. you can be happy even without your first love and you can love again but your PSM will always be your PSM.

I truly believe only a minority will actually properly understand the ending because 'you will only feel it , if you have felt it' the emotions of love are complex, I'm sure millions of viewers have fallen in love before but have they actually seen the complexity of it? The boundaries? The sacrifices? What it actually is all about? In the end it's not about if you end up together it's about so many different factors. And what we need to realise is that sometimes it IS OK to not be together and it IS still possible to be happy.

Also who says they didn't get together? That one day in the finale was a lifetime together in their eyes. Rakhshi and Aslam did end up together and that was enough for them and personally for me.

Finally a round of applause for Rakhshi the emotions that she portrays just from her eyes is what made her so powerful throughout the serial and Aslam the he delivered his dialogues were truly on another level. Huge respect for these two.

Also for the Writer, Producer, Director and all the other actors (Akram, Bushra, Zaynab, Nargis and others) I enjoyed this serial like no other and while I know I am no critique and my review means nothing but I just wanted to express my opinion.

A huge 10/10 for PSM.

Last but not least the ending of Pehli Si Mohabbat was... Pehli Si Mohabbat.

One of the best Series to watch .
charuandotraoo10 May 2021
Far its the best drama and is like fresh air of romance in these trying times.

Unfortunately I am only able to view till 16 episodes and have searching to watch the rest.

Rakshi and Aslam played by the actors have done such a fine job and I have become their greatest fan.

Especially Shehryar is an actor who touches his audience deeply. Hope whenever this pandemic gets over ,we get to see Shehryar in Bollywood as main lead.

Unrealistic , unpractical and just a disappointment
khushichopra-5277413 October 2021
Its first time that i am writing a review , i have seen around 20-30 Pakistani dramas , and i decided to watch this drama too in one go ,i loved how it sticked me to the screen till 30th episode ,how beautifully they projected Aslam and rakshi 's love story but what happens after 30th episode is just unrealistic and a sheer dissapointment...being from india, i have lately started loving pakistani dramas ,and have always appreciated the fact about how they never fail to impress the audience with beautiful endings .. But this drama , it was sooo beautifully scripted ,but they just spoiled everything at the end .. Uniting rakshi and aslam was wanted by all the viewers, But they just spoiled all my mood and craze ... Disappointed!!

#PehliSiMohabbat
naj-5667512 July 2021
#PehliSiMuhabbat dashed all my excitement and hopes if there was any.

I have a few questions in my mind. Hope #AnjumShehzad or #FaizaIftikhar will be able to respond.

1. I fail to understand how come nobody's doing anything in the drama. I mean it's a drama for us (the masses) but the actors are supposed to show us the reality. Except for Akram's wife, nobody is doing anything. Ishrat is the only woman in the household who is cooking, washing dishes, ironing clothes or serving food to the lazy family members. And still she's the only one who looked so graceful throughout the drama.

2. It's okay if Rakhshi's studies have been discontinued, but both Rakhshi and her 'Ami' are sitting on their bed 24/7 missing their ex-boyfriends. That was never the image of a Pakistani woman.

3. Then there's Aslam, a big time loser who hasn't completed his studies nor does he work or do anything. But his attitude towards her cousin is intolerable - always asking Bushra's help, getting his work done thru her and showing disgust towards her at the same time. So rude!

He was only taken once by his brother Akram to the shop but he felt dizzy after seeing Rakhshi with Sikandar. So now Akram who has always been an executioner in the family, realizes that Aslam probably need some rest at home. Even pregnant women do not get that much rest after giving birth.

3. And then there's Zainab - Aslam's Baji who acts like a living corpse in the entire drama. I don't understand one thing: when u don't love someone at all or u dislike someone that u don't feel like looking at him, how do u have kids then? I'm sure Zainab and Murad must have come close twice in their lives (since they have 2-kids). How did that happen? And if somehow Zainab became a mother of 2-kids, where did the kids go?

Zainab is probably blessed to have full-time-complimentary-nannies who takes care of her kids just like a mom.

It's okay if showing kids in various episodes runs the budget out, at least they can talk about the kids. What was the point of showing kids in the beginning when they're constantly being ignored in the remaining part of the drama?

In the beginning it was Maya Ali's dressing that didn't go with the class and society - low-round necks in a moulvi-neighbourhood. However, I was in luv with her yellow (mayun) outfit. It was so beautiful. But I wanted to know who does the effort to dress her beautifully with nail color and flower ornaments? When Sikandar took Rakhshi for shopping, it seems Rakhshi was excited since she decided to wear mayun outfit while going shopping with her husband-to-be?

#MayaAli's overacting reminds me of #MannMayal though, and #PehliSiMohabbat is more like iphone promo!

Ridiculous Drag
mustajab25 September 2021
Over 30 episodes of nonsense. If it were 10 episodes it might have been bearable. Absolutely ridiculous pendulum of the 2 leads and unrequired tragedy and then episode upon episode over the tragedy and death.

Just draggg draggg dragggg. Nothing to learn, nothing to gain from this drama.
