Best episode from Season 7... but still
edbrkn21 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
No doubt one one the best episodes from season 7, but there's still problems. Cisco was soooo poorly used, Killer Frost was oddly written and barely helped, there was no cliff hanger at the end and the worst? The speed sabers fight. That was just nonsense.

Well done, Flash
speedstergeek21 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Let's be honest, this season was a complete joke. Apart from this one and the last 3 episodes, it was pretty bad.

But this season finale is actually good. It has great action even tho it was a little bit weird the whole lightning swords thing.

The acting is AMAZING especially by Jordan Fisher, Candice Patton and of course the genius Tom Cavanagh.

And I know, guys, we're all a little done with the whole pep talks and sentimentalism but I actually think that this episode did it really good! The talk between Jay and Bart was so heart-warming. That's what the Flash really is, that's the essence.

Overall, it was a good episode. It has it's faults but I actually enjoyed it. I'm excited for the next season!!

A little better than half good
pauli_gomez27 July 2021
Ok, this finale has several good things, and several bad things. Good, it was very emotional, it has fun cameos, an amazing song, and some good fights. The bad: the plot has many holes, there are a few things unexplained (especially related with Iris), a silly subplot, and some awful background fightings, that looked cringeworthy. In general, the episode leaves a good feeling, that is why I opted for a 7, but it could have been much, much better.

Decent finale to a Mostly awful season
ldamena21 July 2021
And one of the finales I liked the most. It was nice to meet Nora(again) and Bart(who I instantly liked). The last two episodes of the season were the best imo. I liked how the finale tied everything up with a nice bow. Felt like a Series Finale tbh. If S8 is just as bad or worse than S7 I can look back at 7x18 and think of it as the series finale & be happy.

Go Go Flash Rangers!
N0T_Y0U27 July 2021
Saban really out did himself ont his episode. I was waiting for Tommy and Kimberly to come in and fight alongside Flash as Godspeed gets help from Goldar and Rita Repulsa. I like Bart, Nora and Jay but whoever wrote this episode needs to read the comic, cause I do not recall Barry ever having a lightsaber in the comics.

AMAZING TWO PARTER
aparks-6405320 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Usually the flash is lackluster when it comes to continuing a two-part episode to conclude the ending of a story arc. But the addition of westallen's children along with speedster iris' brief return, it has proven that they are able to produce quality writing every once in a while. The dynamic of nora and bart's relationship was heartwarming to see in the juxtaposition of nora in season 5. She's more mature and isn't as so impulsive (pun not intended) as she previously was. It's great to see barry and iris parenting their children from the future while also attempting to have children in the present. While the only thing that would make it even more better if wally returned to suit up with his family, i'm glad that we were finally able to see them all together. ALSO A VOW RENEWAL?! YES. YES. YES.

Season finale
paultapner30 October 2021
No need for spoilers or not because frankly this is very predictable. Heart turns out to be a horribly one dimensional meglomaniac. People run around a lot. Barry thinks he can make threats that carry weight. Lots of timey wimey and deus ex machinas. Very few members of the public actually in the city.

And then what thinks it's a happy ending has little impact because it's never made you care enough about these characters.

The Kramer storyline is abruptly curtailed as well in order to reset the status quo. Who saw that coming?

The visual effects are great.

Caitlin and Frost both look nice in dresses. Why can't the former get a love interest as well though?

And Bart's a great singer.

This was obviously filmed under covid restrictions which didn't help some things, but this show is getting so tired. Hope the next season is the last.

I gotta be honest with you, in comparison to the rest of the season, it was a nice little finale. Just keep your expectations checked.

not good but not bad
wasabiswag21 July 2021
It was very odd but i enjoyed the fight scenes even if it made no sense i laughed through them, i feel like you should watch this show with your friends rather than by yourself as its a fun show. There are parts of this episode that were pretty cringe like the end but if you enjoy musical parts on this show you will enjoy it.

The Flash - fastest fool alive
keckesmatej24 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
My name is Barry Allen, I catch the villain and dangerous meta people, I need to defeat God Speed, so I bring back my main enemy, the psychopath and the murderer Eobard Thawn to help me defeat God Speed, then I pass him with one blow, because I'm much better and faster, but I'll let him run away, let him kill other people again, but once I catch him, now I just let him enjoy being alive again and killing people. Base logic in the series is dead....

An excellent/flawed finale
ComicBookNerd2624 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Did this episode have problems? Yes. Was this the best finale in a long time? Also yes. The Fight with the Godspeed clones was Lackluster but the Godspeed vs Barry and Thawne was amazing (even if it was a little cheesey). I'm very glad they didn't talk Godspeed down and give him a kiss on the cheek and let him go like he did nothing like the other villains this season. If I had one problem with this episode it was the vow renewal at the end mostly because of the AWFUL dialogue.

All in all a good finale and I'm looking forward to an overall better season next season.

What is a lightning rod in Barry-Iris' relationship?!
cjonesas12 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 18: An emotional episode for kids and teens as most of the season's episodes. Heroes and villains interactions like two kids rolling on the floor all grip and grab.

The best acting of the episode go to Wells, Cisco and an emotional heartfelt Iris.

But The Flash is not about kiddy war and emotions and the writers chose the wrong path IMO. Hope season 8 is better.

Warning: Spoilers
This is my first review... I feel tired.

So now Iris is/was a speedster again and she was able to fight against Godspeed's clone?? This is so terrible. I miss Wally. I love Tom Cavanagh, but come on, you can't decide if Tom or Matthew Letsche is the face of Eobard? It's a mess..

They can't top that Warning: Spoilers
And I don't mean its the best finale ever like so many wrote in here.

It's nowhere near season 1-3. There are things that don't make sense like Godspeed. He was over acted and it felt like a bad version of Savitar. For me the god of speed is Savitar. They built his character for a whole season in season 3. It did feel like he's the fastest and can't be beaten. Then comes this guy calls himself the god of speed and looks ridiculous.

It's also pretty weird why Barry called the reverse Flash when he had Jay and 2 of his kids. I think 4 speedsters on 1 makes more sense than 2 on 1. Especially since they clearly show Reverse flash is way slower then Barry. When he turned on him, Barry was way too fast for him. But a few minutes before that Godspeed was faster than Barry. So how a much slower Speedster can be better than 3 more.

Besides that this finale was pretty interesting and better than season 4-7.

It also helped we had Cisco and Tom. They just can't be replaced.

In conclusion this season was really bad but the last 3 episodes made it much better. It's also felt like a wrap up and no cliffhanger at the end.

I just don't think they can top that in season 8 as they seem out of ideas. And were pushing mostly woke politics, up until the last episodes of this season.

Ranking/Reviewing every Flash episode: Heart of the Matter Part 2
lbramson21 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This episode in theory is awesome, but the execution is a mixed bag. The idea of all speedsters teaming up along with EOBARD THAWNE to fight Godspeed. That sounds awesome! However, it's bogged down by bad dialogue, cheap fan service, and straight up singing. The fact that they bring back Cisco just for him to do nothing is disrespectful to this fan favorite character! Jordan Fischer is an amazing singer. I love him in Hadestown, but I did not come to the Flash for singing that wastes his amazing voice in a season finale. At times the dialogue and CGI feel like Power Rangers. On a good note, this episode is inherently really cool with some fan service that was executed extremely well! I was so hyped when Thawne showed up that I didn't care they were literally having a lightsaber duel. Would I rather they have a regular speedster fight? Yes, but the alternative wasn't bad. We've certainly had worse from the season and I'd still recommend this episode as a fan of the show, despite all its short comings.

Ranking every episode: 18: 7x11 Family Matters Part 2 17: 7x14 Rayo De Luz 16: 7x13 Masquerade 15: 7x03 Mother 14: 7x10 Family Matters Part 1 13: 7x07 Growing Pains 12: 7x09 Timeless 11: 7x04 Central City Strong 10: 7x17 Heart of the Matter Part 1 9: 7x08 The People vs. Killer Frost 8: 7x06 One With the Nineties 7: 7x15 Enemy At the Gates 6: 7x18 Heart of the Matter Part 2 5: 7x16 P. O. W 4: 7x01 Alls Wells That Ends Wells 3: 7x05 Fear Me 2: 7x12 Goodbye Vibrations 1: 7x02 Speed of Thought.

The flash is back and i hope he stays that way for ever
calebzacz21 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly tho, i haven't seen an amazing episode since season 2, and that was 5 years ago. Full of action, full of epic moments, nice action FREAKING LIGHTING SABER FIGHT! And a sincere pure emotional moment, I've been one of the most who criticize Candice Patton acting, but she nailed it, and i loved it.

Having barry, Jay, Bart, Nora, SF Nora and even Iris as the flash was so awesome.

This is what the flash needed.

This all that I wanted with the Flash Family fighting together. A real treat for fans of the comics. Seeing The Flash, Impulse, XS, Jay Garrick, Iris West all fighting together. Every member of Team Flash got a moment. The vow renewal was simple perfect and long over due. Just wonderful.

Why there is always cringe dialogue or the same formula? I used to like the flash but Wow it is horrible in every single way.

Oh God, cancel this show already. Grant Gustin deserves better.

Season 7 ends with a bang
osw-1138921 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely phenomenal episode. The godspeed storyline Was wrapped up nicely , as was Bart and Nora coming to/back to the show, Jordan Fisher acting was great as always and really portrayed what Barry and Iris son would be like. Godspeed himself could've been a better villain but they gave him a good actor, and he had some good dialogue with Barry. They had formed a better rivalry already in one episode more than Cicada 2, Eva, and Speed Force Nora. The battle between the speedsters was pretty nice though I wish it had a bit more action. And the final fight between Barry and Thawne vs Godspeed was just the icing on top. It was really engaging and badass, a great way to finish off the episode. Overall I think this was the best episode this season, everyone had good moments to shine and nice acting, I'd give it a 10/10.

The Straw That Broke The Camel's Back! I'm Done!
demigodshmurda21 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As a Flash fan, I can take a lot of punishment. I had no idea how bad it would get. I genuinely want to see what was going on in the writer's room when they wrote this episode, because as evidenced by this episode, the writers have officially proven that they have nothing but utter contempt for their fans. They don't care about making something of quality anymore. All they care about is getting their paychecks.

Not only do they deliberately screw over every fan they've ever worked to get, but they also spit in our faces and return to us something from one of their lowest rated episodes. An episode so universally hated that just the sheer mention of it is enough to spark the entire Flash fanbase into a rage. Iris West-Allen... Got her super speed back in this episode, and I'm not even gonna talk about this. Trust me, this is far from the worst part of this episode.

To start off with the good parts of the episode, of which they're few and far between, the writers single handedly fixed Allegra Garcia in one scene this episode. All Allegra's done for four episodes straight now is complain about how she abandoned her family. Her sister murdered several people, and she still would've chosen her over Team Flash. Thankfully, Chester set her straight in one of her only two scenes in this episode. Do I think this development will stick? No. I think Allegra will still be the worst character on the show next season. I guess anybody attempting to be an aspiring journalist on this show is doomed to become an overbearing piece of garbage. And trust me, that never changes in Central City. Just look at Iris herself for proof of that point.

Also, I liked that Barry actually fought Godspeed instead of trying to talk him down. I think the writers took the hint on that front, but that was the *least* important front for them to take the hint on.

Kristin Kramer's revealed to have the power to use any meta power in her immediate vicinity. That's a pretty cool power, but doesn't work by the show's logic the way it was used in episode. Godspeed doesn't have real powers. Instead, he takes the Velocity X formula to gain super speed. The episode even goes out of its way to say that Godspeed doesn't have real powers, and that his goal is to just get real powers. So why does Kramer's meta power allow her to simulate Godspeed's speed? It doesn't make any sense. Overall though, I enjoyed this character. I was even predicting that she'd be an Ava Clone from Legends for a while, but one that's aged up, and that's why she survived the blast. She didn't survive the explosion, but she was replaced by another clone. I guess this works too though, having her be able to simulate powers. It's fine. I hereby dub this character "Dynamo", since dynamos have the ability to generate electricity and power. I dunno, I thought it sounded fun.

Now onto the bad stuff. Here we go.

For starters, the fight scene with the Flash Family vs the Godspeed clones is complete filler. Why was this fight even included in the episode? It is literally just to stall for time. Sure it's a cool spectacle, and seeing Speed Force Nora snap her fingers and instantly defeat five Godspeed clones was hilarious, but there's no reason for this fight to have been included in the episode since the Godspeeds just get back up as soon as the fight is over. Then, the Godspeeds drain power from Speed force Nora, making the team weaker, and then Allegra shows up with the SCE and nukes the Godspeeds. This scene exists to take the SCE out of contention as an option to beat Godspeed, and that's it. Lame.

Bart is still an an impulsive jerk, and I'm still not excited to see his and Nora's spinoff. He's obviously being set up as the lead of the series, with Nora in a supporting role, but I'd really rather it be the other way around. I prefer Nora to Bart in every way, and I think she'd make a more compelling lead. Bart on the other hand has to insert himself into situations where he doesn't belong, including into Barry and Iris RENEWING THEIR VOWS! Dude, this isn't your moment. Please, shut up.

Karan Oberoi was WAY overacting as Godspeed, hamming up his performance to the point where it was more annoying than threatening. Clearly, he was either a last minute cast, or it was a last minute decision to turn him into Godspeed. Either way, the writers couldn't sell it no matter how hard they tried. I'm sure Oberoi is a good actor, but this was far from his best performance.

Thawne coming back from the dead is... Okay look, I like that they did it, and it was awesome to see Barry and Thawne forced to fight alongside each other, but the fact that there was no buildup was ridiculous. There was no mention of him showing up, and it made his appearance in the episode absolute nonsense! Barry should've at least had to go get him from the night his mom died or something. At first, I thought it was Black Flash based on the angle and the color of the suit, and was then sorely disappointed to find out that the writers once again brought Thawne back for cheap drama! Why is he here? Is it because he's the only villain anybody cares about anymore? Because I stopped caring about Thawne after season six. His story ended with season six's "The Exorcism of Nash Wells" where Barry finally let go of his anger toward Thawne, and prevented Thawne from ever having power over him again. Thawne's entire purpose in this episode is to prove one thing: That season eight WILL be the show's final season. That's right, I said it. Prove me wrong.

Oh yeah, and the glorified lightsaber battle with Godspeed against Barry and Thawne was HILARIOUSLY DUMB! You can't tell me they weren't lightsabers, they even made the lightsaber retracting sound when disappearing. Look, after this season overused Barry throwing lightning, I'm over Barry's entire powerset. Making a lightsaber out of a lightning bolt does absolutely nothing except attempt to look cool, and just fail at it miserably.

And then there's the scene of Barry and Iris renewing their vows. How dare the writers claim that this was the greatest sequel since Empire Strikes Back after this trash fire of a season. The scene is completely ridiculous and made me walk out of the room several times, including when Barry used Flashtime when kissing Iris. Eric Wallace retconned that power out of existence for a reason, guys! It completely breaks the show!

And... That's it. The season's done, and thank god for it! In the sea of positive reviews, I want everyone to look at this one and realize that this is the episode where I finally snapped and became the CW's Joker! This episode's baffling lunacy from minute one drove me so crazy that I'm fully convinced that this was the worst episode of the show, except for *maybe* "The Trial of the Flash". Know that no matter what I'm reviewing, I will be sure to keep myself honest. I will not be compromised or change my views for anyone or anything, and that is a promise.

This episode has proven to me one thing: The writers have nothing but contempt for their fanbase. The writers will only deliver what they know we want as long as they can screw it over as much as possible. This episode is a testament of that. And if the writers don't care about the fanbase, why should we care about the show?

I will not be watching the next season, even if it is the final season. Honestly, I should've just quit after season four when I had the chance. I'm officially jumping ship though. That's it. I'm done with this show. I just can't even find anything that I can possibly hold onto liking anymore, as the writers have gone out of their way to ruin everything good about their first few seasons this year. Once they destroyed the old speed harness in "Timeless", I should've realized what was happening and been done then.

Okay, this was less of a review and more of a rant, but frankly, I'm okay with that in this case. This episode managed to top "Mother" as the worst episode of season seven, and that is a high bar to top. So, congratulations Flash Writers Room. You didn't just lose my trust. You lost my respect.

Great finale and PHENOMENAL villain in godspeed, the actor who played him was incredible and I couldn't have asked for anything better, but why the "lightning swords"? I couldn't help but laugh and it ruined what would've been an awesome final fight scene. I guess we'll see what comes of Thawne and Barry in the future.
