Great Episode! Except of course for Allegra...
danhuiner14 July 2021
The best episode of season 7 for sure but it is legitimately IMPOSSIBLE to care about Allegra. If she's not with the full group honestly don't bother.

More action, still depressive
cezardjian17 July 2021
Too much drama, not enough action. 7 seasons and flash isn't a fraction of how fast he should be.

Best Episode of the season yet
delgadosaul-2813914 July 2021
Finally enough lovey touchy, an actual evil villain finally. A little rushed but fight scenes are good and high level performance from Jordan Fisher as Bart.

Bart is a gem
mattschauer2814 July 2021
I love Bart and Jordan Fischer really brings out his charm, however I think they could have used him better instead of him getting his ass kicked instantly. But besides that, I can't wait to see what happens in the next episode and I hope it's gonna be good.

Warning: Spoilers
Didn't think I'd make it past the first 5 minutes because Nora West-Allen and Bart Allen were so annoying. It was good to see Cisco again saving the day. Allegra also needs to go. This episode was okay and certainly not worthy of a 10.

Best Episode ever this show is gaining its hype back.
terfearo14 July 2021
The episode was very nice and amazing to see Bart Allen and Nora West Allen again. No boring clips everything is put together well. The flash may get saved and should go on for another two seasons. We need a season 9 if they keep this writing up everyone go watch it now it's amazing.

Please actually read the review instead of just marking it as "unhelpful", because The Flash Family has struck out again!

Warning: Spoilers
I may be a little jaded because of what this show's become, but I can still say I enjoyed this episode. It's far from perfect, but it's not awful.

Ripping the band aid off right away, Bart Allen was a jerk all episode. I see all these people praising Jordan Fischer in the role, and he was great, but his character was horrible! I'm not saying that he needed to be on the level of a total saint, but he really doesn't understand a lot. I get that he's supposed to be impulsive, (though they forced that word down our throats all episode for no reason) but he came off as bratty, childish and reckless. If they're trying to sell a spinoff with him and Nora, I'm not buying it. The writers never give him any room to grow as a character, since they just try over and over to prove him right.

I'm not just talking about him throwing around Thawne's name either. I can understand that Godspeed took Jay Garrick from him, (though we should've seen that relationship develop as opposed to just hearing about it) but even he should've known that he was walking into a trap, and used that to the team's advantage. Seems like the kind of situation the writers did excellently before in season 1's "The Trap", where they used Cisco's knowledge as Vibe to try and set a trap for Thawne. You know, Thawne name was mentioned a lot this episode as if he was someone Barry still had any resentment for, but season 6's "The Exorcism of Nash Wells" showed Barry letting go of all that anger. So kidnapping Jay Garrick doesn't make Godspeed come off as smart, it just makes Team Flash look really, *really* stupid.

I still couldn't care less about Allegra's story. Why are the writers still forcing this character on us? I've grown to truly detest this character since this season's "Rayo de Luz", and I think a lot of people are feeling the same as me. Kill this character, write her off the show, or just relegate her to the same background character role that Caitlin's had since season 4. I just don't care about Allegra Garcia's story anymore. I get that losing a loved one can be hard, but this character has no real depth to her. It makes everything she's gone through feel less real and more forced for that reason. Even Black Lightning season 4 did this better with how they handled Khalil Payne! Khalil showed up more and more as the season went along, but it didn't feel forced since he was easily the most interesting and well built up character on the show at that point. How'd they accomplish that? Well, the writers put in the time and effort and slowly developed him over 3 and a half seasons. Khalil earned his screen time. The Flash writers don't really grasp that, and are trying to take shortcuts to make Allegra this character we should care about, but haven't done any of the heavy lifting necessary to make us care. Characters like Khalil don't just pop up overnight.

Even The Flash has done their part to make us care about certain characters in the past and justify them getting entire episodes devoted to them. Characters like Killer Frost earned their keep on the show, especially in season 6 where we got to explore her actually wanting to have a life outside of just being Caitlin's split personality that the plot can call upon when necessary. Cisco earned the right to become Vibe by slowly but surely building up to that story over 2 whole seasons! Reverse Flash became the most beloved villain on the show by being slowly built up over almost an entire season. There's no fast tracking things like this, writers. It takes more than a single episode devoted to a character for us to get invested in them. I'd even argue based on the examples given that it takes almost an entire season of consistent development to get people invested in a character's storyline. I never minded Allegra's character in season 6, but now whenever she's on screen I just can't shake the feeling of not caring.

Barry finally getting to meet the real August Heart was pretty cool, but I couldn't help but feel a little underwhelmed by the moment. Now, no offense to Karan Oberoi, but he does *not* have supervillain face by any stretch of the imagination. He was great just being August Heart not having his memory and trying to understand who he was. He really made you feel for him. As Godspeed however, he doesn't have the right face shape, and it kind of pulled me out of the moment. What pulled me out of the moment more however was the realization that Godspeed wasn't Barry's villain. This interpretation of Godspeed is Bart Allen's villain. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but when they've built up all episode how Godspeed is "Bart's Thawne" and then have him saying that he's disappointed in Barry for not finding him sooner, it honestly seems fake.

It's very much akin to what Superman and Lois did with John Henry Irons. They've built up one thing for so many episodes straight, at this point actually being over the course of multiple seasons, that Godspeed suddenly being Bart's nemesis makes me feel like I've been betrayed.

August isn't a villain like Bloodwork, where both he and Barry knew they had an expiration date and were moving in opposite directions of how to deal with their fates. Bloodwork chose to live and became something unrecognizable in the process, while Barry accepted his death and tried to prepare the people closest to him for after he was gone.

People often criticize Eva for not being a personal villain for Barry, but I'd actually disagree. Eva only ever saw Barry as a stepping stone that she needed to overcome, insisting that she's not his enemy, which ironically only made her a *more* personal villain for Barry. And that's not even mentioning that Eva kidnapped Barry's wife. Granted, all that hard work was undone when season 7 twisted the character into something unrecognizable, but it was great while it lasted.

Even Cicada was still a personal threat for Barry, with both of them being fathers. Yeah, I'm going there. Cicada was a terrible villain and his plot was drawn out far too long, but he did have a connection to Barry that none of the other villains had. They both cared about their kids and wanted them to live better lives, but Cicada chose to kill people while Barry chose to save people and make the world a better place one person at a time.

And these are just the villains of the last 2 seasons! Compared to them even, Godspeed just feels like someone else's villain on the Flash's show. It feels like if you took Deathstroke straight from Arrow season 2 and made him the main villain of Supergirl for no reason with no buildup. It's jarring.

Quite possibly the worst event of the entire episode though is something that *doesn't* happen! You remember back in the season 4 premiere "The Flash Reborn" when Barry was saying all of those random things when he came out of the Speed Force? Do you know the *one* thing Barry hasn't said yet that he said coming out of the Speed Force? "We're gonna need more diapers." I was waiting all season for Barry to say that line. That was the one thing I asked for this episode, and the writers didn't deliver! No, Iris just came back to Barry *right* as he was about to say it, and instead she just talks about how she saw Bart and Nora in the Still Force. Now that Iris knows about the twins, we'll *never* get to hear Barry say this line. Honestly? I'm incredibly disappointed, and I don't even like season 4. Why spoil the chance?

Is it something the writers just forgot about? Because the writers didn't forget about speedsters being able to vibrate so fast that they're invisible to the naked eye, which was also in season 4, specifically in the episode "Don't Run". They didn't forget about OG Nora being erased from existence in the season 5 finale "Legacy". They didn't forget the device Barry and Jay used to send Barry's mind into the future from season 6's "A Flash of the Lightning". The point is, I know it's an incredibly minor thing, but I know plenty of people that were looking forward to hearing Barry verbally close book on a mystery of season 4 that still has people analyzing it today, but now those people will never get that chance.

I know I only focused on the negatives of the episode, but with this season, I can't seem to help myself. Honestly, I don't see anything I've said here as "unfair" or "unjustified". I know these writers can do better than this. They just need to stop being surrounded by "yes men" and realize that the real "Heart of the Matter" (see what I did there?) is that all that fans want to see is a good show. I'll keep coming back and hoping that it will get better, but that won't happen forever. I almost gave up watching after season 4 because of how bad it was, and this season feels the same way with dozens of poor writing choices and boundless amounts of valid criticisms.

I know you can do better than this. Prove me right. Give long time fans a reason to come back.

6 / 10.

The Allen Family

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was good, wasn't great, the passing was slow and it was mostly exposition but that's not always a bad thing, They never explain how Jay is on earth prime when Henry and Nora already exist, I love how Godspeed is Bart's Thawn and how he Killed Jay in the future I don't like how Bart was born in 2030 because that means Barry never vanishes in 2024, the Godspeed war will never stop being awesome and love Cisco's entrance so Badass hero moment. Barry in August's mind so excited for next episode.

Great episode
prometheus1987014 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Towards the end of the season, every episode gets better than the one before. Good content, a proper villain this time around. Bart and Nora connection as siblings is absolutely perfect. Bart's "impulsivness" is portrayed very well, as it shows it's effect on his life and ability to make decisions. Barry is behaving as a father very well. Bart's "Thawne" is Godspeed apparently as he killed "uncle Jay Garrick" in front of Bart in the future. Bart and Jay had a special bond together where Jay acknowledged Bart's impulsive nature. I thought Godspeed would have killed Bart's girlfriend or something, but this reason for Bart's hate for Godspeed is definitely much much better and makes it much more realistic. Many questions have been created in our mind, such as why did August heart lose his memories, will be answered in the next episode after this episodes climax.

This episode definitely sets the final episode for a big finale. Hopefully the next episode doesn't disappoint as we have seen couple of flash seasons that have. So one week to find out....

Return to form of sorts Warning: Spoilers
This story finally feels like it used to be.

-The focus is on the Flash as it should be. What a concept, the Flash is the main character in his own show.

-Iris is there but not running things all the time. Personally I don't really need her around at all.

-In Bart we find a new interesting character finally. Well done for the guy that playing him he's funny and quirky and it works. Getting actors that can act what a concept right? This version of Nora is better too. Feels more positive grown up and less whiny.

-The bad guy is starting to be interesting at last. Too bad the season has only 1 episode to go. Why wasn't this whole season dedicated to this story line?

-Cisco is coming for a visit! Carlos is just great, they should bring him back.

-Still missing a version of Wells but ok it was a good enough episode.

-No woke bs makes difference. I hope they wont mess up the finale.

A breath of fresh air

Bart brings an enjoyable new addition to the show which is nice and refreshing.and the plot is well written and enjoyable, apart from on part , alegra it felt like every time there would be a fun action sequence it was followed by a long winded scene about alegra . The Episode is amazing but I feel that without thes bits it would have been perfect.

Happy 150th Episode, The Flash!
THEARROWFLASH15 July 2021
Absolutely PERFECT Episode! Every single character and actor was perfectly written and portrayed. Impulse really shined through on his emotional and non-emotional scenes, and JORDAN FISHER is absolutely perfect as IMPULSE. It is SUCH a great feeling to have JESSICA PARKER KENNEDY as NORA again, never thought I'd see the day but I'm so happy I did.

Godspeed, so far. Has been handled more perfectly than I could have ever possibly imagined. August Heart, GODSPEED, has been written and acted perfectly by his actor. Literally every single second of this episode was PERFECT. 150 Episodes. 7 YEARS. All leading up to this beautiful moment in Television History. Thank you so much for changing Superhero Television for all time, The Flash. Thank you so much for being one of the Top 3 Greatest Shows to EVER Exist. Thank you so much to every single great character and actor starting from GRANT GUSTIN, TOM CAVANAUGH, CARLOS VALDES, CANDICE PATTON, DANIELLE PANABAKER all the way to every single supporting actor and guest actor that starred on this beautiful show. Thank you for giving me such great entertainment that genuinely touched my heart like no other show ever could, and changed my whole life for the better. Thank you for 150 episodes of absolute happiness and entertainment. Thank you for every single second of happiness you have given me. In short, Thank you, The Flash, and every single person responsible for making this incredible show. Thank you, and CONGRATULATIONS ON 150 EPISODES!!!!!!!

It should always be like this
aliaspagcey14 July 2021
It should always show Barry leading and being about the flash family . More speedster to keep the action going . We like when Barry run. It's literally why he's the flash . Stop making him be on the floor so much and other episodes with other villains that aren't speedsters . They shouldn't be able to catch him so fast . Especially when he could hold his own with god like speedsters . This episode was kind of funny . I don't care too much about what Allegra got going on .the writers need to write like this through the whole seasons and maybe people won't be bored . They always try to save the best for last .cater to every fan . Have Barry family stuff ,not runs , actually fighting villains, have team work without everyone staying in one place . Spead out starlabs is big and so is central city . Take advantage of having all these characters and actually make them do what they're good at without taking from Barry .I loved this episode . I'm going to watch it again.

Introduce new future children, but don't change the future. Can the writers not learn from the Simpsons: the viewers know that you only introduce new characters because they have nothing new to write!

Here they come again
bennambiar12 October 2022
I hope ...really hope, in season 9, the eliminate the Nora West Alan's character or...change the actor.

If possible change the actors for both Iris and Nora West Allen. The two worst actors with bad character development.

Nora West Allen - her facial expression and her body language is rather irritating.

Since Season 3, its very obvious, Barry and Iris got no chemistry at all. When Barry is with Cisco, Caitlin, Wells and even with Felicity and Supergirl, he seems more natural, but with Iris, it looks like acting or forced.

Those episodes without Iris are more fun to watch, not being a hater...
