Kevin's political career
safenoe15 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode, Broken, the seventh one of season one, sees the start of Kevin's political career, with Allison and Nick plotting to kill Kevin with a staged break-in. The switch between sitcom and gritty drama is quite impressive, and all credit to the writing and production crew, and the director for the seamless switch that would make the producers of Kevin Can Wait chuffed.

Sam (Raymond Lee) is heartbroken at his relationship with Allison flatlining, so we'll see what happens in season two which is also the final series of Kevin Can F Himself. This series ain't for everyone but worthwhile watching once.

Major disappointment
CrimeDrama127 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I figured out generally what happened even though the writing, directing, and producing was so poor. The first question detectives ask Allison is her relationship to Kevin, trying to make us think he is dead. Not buying it. In fact, that question only makes sense if the police suspect that it was a planned hit on Kevin. We don't see Kevin or Nick again after the shot is heard, which is odd because unless both fired simultaneously, one of them is alive (maybe both) and it is not likely to be Nick. Withholding details backfired in a big way with this episode. There was no need to attempt something like "The Usual Suspects" or "Reservoir Dogs". The detectives know who Nick is but he is never mentioned in their questioning of Allison. Maybe in the next episode but it was a poor decision to exclude it, just like not showing the crime scene. I have learned to expect forced conflict. Sure, Nick killing Kevin adds conflict but it is nothing compared to Allison having to face a future WITH Kevin. Why has no one mentioned divorce, not even once?
