Through two full seasons, I still don't think this show has figured what it wants to be, or what it wants its characters to be. It's a funny show, with a likeable cast, but Ian seems to have a life-altering epiphany every other episode, only to become a monster again soon after. The show never seems to make up its mind about whether or not we should be rooting for him episode to episode. He fakes a heart attack, is extremely rude to Poppy, but then he cries and says he's changed, and Mythic Quest thinks that's enough to qualify as growth for the character.
Beyond that, Brad is the only real issue on the show. I know it's a comedy, but his actions so rarely make sense, even for a sitcom character. And this is just a personal issue, but it's impossible to not just see Abed when watching Danny Pudi. All in all, the show is good-not-great pretty much every week, and this episode is no different.
