Pretty good so far...

Warning: Spoilers
Two episodes in and it's pretty good. I'm a firefighter (Captain) and fire instructor for 20+ years and I can appreciate the calls they go on and how they are presented. I do have to call out that most departments I know and have worked for would be just a bit upset to see firefighters turning out while the trucks are moving and also not wearing seat belts. EP 2 had the crew skipper & booter entering a hostile scene with SO weapons out and going in to chat with suspect to calm her down to drop her weapon/knife. I'm not sure if this was staged as again, I don't know any fire department or crew that would enter into a hostile scene until PD/SO cleared the scene (code 4). We always stage away from the scene until it is safe for us to enter. I'll continue to watch as I'm sure most fireman will be the shows worse critics.

So Real
cecesisili14 March 2024
I loved watching this series. The realness and reality that this series displays helped identify what to do if accidents, health crises, and fires arise. Please bring it back for Season 2! The reality series includes the importance of watching Real-life first-responder docuseries. The LA Fire and Rescue TV shows different areas in different areas and the inner workings of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The importance of watching our first responders and their Responsibility for protecting the lives and property of the million citizens living in 59 cities across Los Angeles County, the LACoFD's 2,300 square miles of service is unlike any other in the United States. The LACoFD's department does everything from fire engines and helicopter mountain rescues to the lifeguard beach SOSs to fireboats, hazmat units, and California's raging wildfires. Responders profiled in the first season include those from Station 8 (West Hollywood), Station 16 (Watts), Station 37 (Palmdale), Station 41 (Compton), Station 101 (Claremont), Station 125 (Calabasas), and Station 172 (Inglewood), as well as air operations known as the "Angels in the Sky" and The L. A. County Fire Department Lifeguard Division. These fire stations have dedicated their time and importance to performing real-life rescues. Please bring back this series for a season 2.

I was excited to see how places like this work in L.A. Then I did and lost interest.

Warning: Spoilers
I put this contains spoilers. I said something that they do. Not sure if there is enough to be considered a spoiler. But better safe than sorry.

My stepfather was a captain in the fire department. When I saw the preview for this, I had a feeling he would want to watch. I then saw that he set it on our DVR. We watched the first half last night. Here are my thoughts.

I can normally tell how a show will be within the first seconds. I had a feeling that I wouldn't like it. But I didn't say that. Nor did I stop watching. But I was right. I did not like it. Nothing about it.

First, I understand it's real life. But it just feels like they build you up so much and then nothing happens. The poor guy that they were using that machine on, that made me sad. I don't really think stuff like that show be shown. It is a person life. But I guess that IS real.

Then, maybe I am the only one on this. But the show seemed so strange. Like it was scripted. What was I really watching.

Who is this show really for. I mean, the audience. It almost seemed like it was set up for kids the way the guys were talking. Yet I can't see parents letting children watch this show. Adults may watch but I have a feeling more would lose interest than keep it. I suppose teenagers would find it interesting. But don't they watch streaming stuff. So, I just wondered who this was for.

You get to see the guys go on a call. It is quickly over and then they talk. I think two or three of the people said the exact same thing. I thought I was going crazy.

I just didn't find any part of what I wanted interesting, unique, or entertaining. I can't see this show lasting that long. But I am only human. I believe I said the same thing about one or all of the Chicago shows. They are still on and seem popular. Though I stopped watching the first and only one I watched after the third or so season.

It would be cool if this show got a large amount of people to watch. Give those who rarely get the credit they deserve a change to be seen and known. But in my guy, I just can't see it going for more than two or three seasons. I mean, at the most.

Also, just thought I would put this, I have nothing but respect for the men and women that do this. Someone killed me in 2003. There was an off-duty medic that had his radio on. He heard the call and came to me. If not for that guy, the men, and women on medivac and those at shock trauma in Baltimore, I would not be here.

FAKE
solidabs9 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I had to tap out watching this nonsense. I was hoping for a true depictment of fire fighting. But no it was scripted garbage.

They had the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department on the scene in a residential area. They were all pointing their weapons systems at the so called lady at her residence. The lady was supposedly holding a knife to her throat with family members present. Some of the Deputys were deploying less than lethal shotguns and tasers. They had about 10 Deputies and Supervisors there. Next thing you know they decide to let the old Bald Fire Captain and his Female trainee walk up and begin acting as negotiators LMFAO. Of course they talk her down quicker than dog snot. The episode was running out of time lmao. Of course the Sheriffs laugh and say something to the effect good job heroes and they laugh. SMFH. The Captain walks off like hes too cool for his suit. No Law Enforcement department in America would let that happen. Now LASO is a broke down department. I mean have you seen them try to puruse a fleeing vehicle lately. Its comical. If they allowed this. They are dopes.

Too fake for this viewer.
