- TriviaIn the comics, the Dark Archer is the Green Arrow's archenemy. He was born Arthur King, and his alias is Malcolm Merlyn. He was a business man who owned the Merlyn Global Group, and he was a friend of the Queen Family. However, when his wife was killed by an unknown assailant, it destroyed his faith in humanity. He joined the League of Assassins, led by Ra's al Ghul, and ultimately became the Dark Archer. Vortigen is Smallville's incarnation of the same character.
- GoofsIn the hospital Chloe tells Oliver that Lois was shot in the right shoulder with an arrow. However, in the next scene the x-ray shows the arrow in the left shoulder. Also, in the prior scene with Clark and Lois, her left arm is in a sling and left shoulder bandaged.
- Quotes
Mia Dearden: Don't worry. I'm not gonna go tell all my friends I used to train with the Emerald Archer.
Oliver Queen: Well, he's not done with you yet. I mean, unless of course, you're done with him.
Mia Dearden: No. No, I'm actually glad my old teacher showed up again. Yours, not so much.
Oliver Queen: I still can't get him out of my head. I just keep thinking, by the time Vordigan gets out of prison, he'll be an old man.
Mia Dearden: I think you got better things to worry about.
Oliver Queen: I'm not worried about him. Mia, it's what he said. I think he's right. What if I can't outrun these dark places inside me?
Mia Dearden: That's why you need me. To keep you in check. There's a dark place inside everyone, Oliver. What we do with it depends not on who our teachers are but what we do with the lessons learned.

Mia, played by Bambi eyed Elise Gaiten, was back and she brought some quite refreshing moments to the story. The chemistry between Gaiten and Justin Hartley is great and I really liked what Mia said to him about what should be done with lessons. It's not about what you learn, it's about what you do with them. So she's both cute, strong and smart. From now on she's definitely a secondary character we can count on. Chloe was also featured and I still wonder about the many screens in the Watch Tower. Where's the tech adviser when you need it ? It would be more believable and impressive if she used high-end gadgets like tactile interfaces to zoom in and out from the many photos she takes with her stalking cameras. About her Big Brother complex Clark said something quite smart about going out instead of looking outside. It would be logical to deeply cover her issues in an upcoming episode. A special Chloe ? I was surprised Clark hadn't his glasses considering Idol's ending. But it didn't really matter because he had to deal with Zod and his soldiers. Callum Blue did a decent job at portraying their leader but I was disappointed by his attitude towards Clark. After what happened in Pandora I was expecting him to behave like a wolf dressed as a sheep to manipulate Clark. Instead the writers chose the predictable way of using the force when he clearly doesn't stand a chance against The Blur. But there're still a few intriguing arcs opened so it could lead to some twisted events in the upcoming episodes. Kandor and Pandora succeeded in shaking most of us after all. They have their own agenda and Clark knows he has to think fast and act even faster to make sure the future won't collapse in his own bloody hands.
To sum things up it was a decent episode but nothing compared to gems like Metallo and Idol. Zod's attitude reminded me too much of Lex, Tess Mercer wasn't featured and I can now nearly foresee the patterns designed by the writers to pull the strings. Moreover the story itself was quite disappointing when it could have been one of the best and a great homage to R. L. Stevenson's works. Strange Case of Dr Queen and Mr Arrow ? It won't happen.
