Are they all millionaires?
hallmarkmov26 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
These lakeside properties are insane! How can any of them afford these gigantic beautiful homes? I couldn't get over it! So the story. It was ok. It's not as good as second chances which was also about firefighters. This one packed in every diversity thing they could think of and the story's focus was a bit vague. I thought the conflict was ridiculous. This lady was here for how long and thinks the guy who's lived there for years and is best friends with everyone would betray them? What?! Her fake little fit was the downfall of this movie. The firefighter's wife Karen was like the noisy neighbour and had all this time on her hands. Doesn't she have to take care of her kid? Or other kids as they claimed? I'm sure there are people who will enjoy it. It was an easy watch, could be put in the background, and nothing super annoying. This was the first movie with extensive details of how everyone's spouses died without being a murder mystery movie so I'll give it that. Also are people just given promotions without needing to apply? Is it that easy to become chief and mayor? Doesn't designing one park give you the salary to buy such amazing property? What happened to the girl's family? They are really mentioned again after half way through the movie.

Overacting at times
halvor-moen23 March 2022
Yes, there is plenty of overacting from multiple actors. Bear with it and look for the nice scenery, some familiar faces and so on. Remember it was filmed with covid restrictions, its not that hard to notice. I'd rather watch this film than nothing at all these days.

Fun
Jackbv12323 October 2022
The main characters in this movie are high energy and upbeat. Gia is a lovable character. Jim is pretty good also, not to mention Lizzy. Many of the supporting characters have something that makes them stand out. Like pushy Karen. She is a bit hard to take at first, but she has a great heart and it is hard to hate her.

The story has a lot of fresh elements. Inclusion is prominent, mostly in a good way. The political junk is annoying, but I guess there had to be something to create the tension. I just wish it was not politics which I hate. There's no great highs or lows or surprises, but the all the positive energy still makes the overall worthwhile.

This movie could be a nitpicker's dream. Widow moves to an expensive house on a lake and her full time job is to build one playground. Seriously? There are so many others, but they don't matter.

Fake
evancho-9442518 July 2022
How can a movie be made with firefighters all have beards I'm a firefighter and we are NOT allowed to have them why does Hollywood do fake movies maybe try using REAL HEROES ones who put lives on line not these fake ones.

Lead Actress wants that BBC/Cerebral Palsy??
bucs-2400111 July 2022
It was starting to get uncomfortable how the main actress was so aggressive and flirty with the male lead (sorry his names escapes me)

Also, what was a point making a character with CP? Im only 3/4 through the movie, so I apologize if they bring the child in, but I see know point of having a CP character and not elaborating on it.

Finally real balance!
happeegirlee20 March 2022
A feel good movie. Very refreshing to see multiple non-stereotypical ethnicities represented (all in a positive light) including multi-racial relationships and the addition of special needs characters. It's about time! Would have given the last star had multiple sizes been represented, however otherwise exceptionally relatable in today's climate. Multiple talented cast members in both main and supportive roles; great to see big names of the likes of Devon Alexander and Christopher Russell - in the same movie first off(!) - but also portrayed in a positive, non-competitive 'friendship' role, instead of traditional antagonistic roles of males. And the female characters lift each other up instead of the petty drama characteristic of far too many Hallmark movies. Both main characters have depth apart and together, growing their friendship over time into something stronger. So much better! The associated 'misunderstanding' at the climax of all romance movies was surprisingly not drawn out with escalation of overinflated feelings, but instead talked out when confronted. Far more balanced and relatable than typical. Love that the dominant female was not a wedding planner or fashion designer. Thanks for thinking outside the box JPG ;) And as much as I loved the Wedding Veil Trilogy and the camaraderie of big female names supporting each other in the same movies, this movie alone goes further and puts big names together in real-time, not mostly phone & zoom calls, which made the former seem far more choppy. Check it out and see for yourself! Nicely done.
