The Maze Runner is an upcoming Catherine Hardwicke‘s adaptation of James Dashner’s best-selling young-adult novel of the same name.
Screenwriter Noah Oppenheim has been brought on to write the script.
This is the latest young-adult franchise that studios are hoping will be the next Harry Potter or Twilight. Check out why…
“When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. His memory is blank. But he’s not alone. When the lift’s doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade-a large, open expanse surrounded by stone walls.
Just like Thomas, the Gladers don’t know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they’ve closed tight. And every 30 days a new boy...

Jillian Michaels has reportedly said that she once had a nose job. The Biggest Loser trainer and star of Losing It With Jillian told Parade magazine that she "felt much better" about herself after going under the knife. "I had my nose done - it made a big difference in my life. I felt much better about myself. Plastic surgery is a very personal decision," she said. The 36-year-old also recounted her school days, saying: "In eighth grade, I weighed 175lbs and my nose was the size of a softball. Once, I was sitting at lunch and got surrounded by a bunch of kids who let me have it about how ugly I was - my unibrow, the size of my nose, the fat rolling over (more)...

On 'Losing It With Jillian' (Tue.,8Pm Et on NBC), personal trainer Jillian Michaels travels to Arizona to help out an overweight Native American family. While meeting the family, who are of the Yavapai-Apache Nation tribe, Jillian learns a lot about local customs, which seem to involve eating a lot of "fry bread" -- dough that is deep-fried in lard. Not particularly healthy.
Eventually, while hanging out during a Native American gathering, Jillian can't really take it anymore. "Looking around, everybody's obese," she says. So she grabs the "fry bread" and tries to throw it out. Unfortunately, she's intercepted by a couple of kids, who want their delicious (but unhealthy) bread back. One of the kids still has some bread left, and his level of annoyance is so high that he throws it in her face.
"You're an idiot," the child says, after hitting Jillian with the foodstuff.

Jillian Michaels has reportedly said that she does not have a "mean bone" in her body. The Biggest Loser trainer - and current star of NBC's Losing It With Jillian - was asked by Redbook what she thought was the biggest misconception about her. "I really don't have a mean bone in my body!" she replied. "Do you know how easy it would be to tell people what they want to hear? It would be heaven! But, unfortunately, it doesn't get the job done." The health expert also (more)...

On 'Losing It With Jillian' (Tue., 10Pm Et on NBC), trainer Jillian Michaels visits the Jones family in Massachusetts. The family has lost father and husband Gary Jones, and so Jillian takes it upon herself to snap them back into shape. Although widow Deb Jones is obese, the kids in the family look perfectly fine to us. ... Which makes it a little weird that Michaels forces them into a canoe in order to work out.
Jillian hollers through a megaphone, telling the kids to "Stroke, stroke!" ... Okay, okay. Naturally, the canoe inevitably falls over and everyone gets very wet. Of course this is what happens. The whole incident reminds us of this old saying: "If there's a canoe, then it's gonna tip over." All right, that's not actually a saying. But it sounds like it could be one, which is basically good enough.

Broadcasters are betting on familiar faces and a few scripted wild cards this summer as networks try to break a postseason losing streak.Without a summer hit in recent years save ABC's "Wipeout," which debuted in 2008, the three biggest freshman titles during the coming months could be considered spinoffs of existing hits.NBC's "Losing It With Jillian" (June 8) stars "The Biggest Loser" trainer Jillian Michaels in an attempt to extend the network's reality hit into summer. The NBC show - which premieres next week - will see the Biggest Loser trainer moving in with families across the country in a bid to assist them in rebooting their lives.
