- Nurse George: [knocks on Carl's door; he opens it] Good morning, Mr. Fredricksen. You ready to go?
- Carl Fredricksen: I'll meet you at the van in just a minute. I uh, wanna say one last goodbye to the old place.
- Nurse George: Sure. Take all the time you need, sir.
- [Carl slams his door]
- Nurse A.J.: Typical! He's probably going to the bathroom for the 80th time.
- [they turn to walk towards the van]
- Nurse George: [sees the helium canisters lying around] Yech! You think he'd take better care of his house!
- [they notice the shadows of many baloons rising behind them and turn around. Carl's house lifts off the ground and passes over their heads]
- Nurse George, Nurse A.J.: Aaaah!
- [as the house passes over them, Russell can be seen bracing himself underneath the house's floorboards]
- Russell: Aaah!
- Carl Fredricksen: Ha, ha ha ha ha ha! So long, boys!
- [George and A.J. are left dumbstruck]
- Reporter: [Morning Action 4 News] I'm standing adjacent the the location where yesterday, onlookers witnessed a liftoff by what some are calling a flying house. Tell us what you saw.
- [she points her microphone at George and A.J., who are still standing speechless a day later; the camera quickly pans back to her]
- Reporter: Construction workers in the area say the flying house belongs to this man: recently convicted public menace Carl Fredricksen. City officials say the search will continue, but after yesterday's storm,
- [as the report continues, the view shifts to show that it is being watched by other senior citizens around the city]
- Reporter: there may be no clues as to where Carl Fredricksen and his house have gone. It appears as if elderly public menace Carl Fredricksen has indeed escaped.
- [Seniors break into cheers]
- Old Lady: Attaboy, Carl!
- Mrs. Peterson: [laughs in a crazy manner]
- Carl Fredricksen: [after the retirement home has flown away, Carl descends in Charles Muntz's airship] Afternoon, boys!
- Nurse George, Nurse A.J.: Aaaaaaaahhhh!
- [the airship crushes their van, stopping its alarm]
- Nurse George: [looks up, incredulous] Mr. Fredricksen?
- Russell: [Carl and Russell climb out of the gondola's bridge and walk past the nurses] Ha ha! That was so cool! Let's do that again Mr. Fredricksen, but this time, I wanna steer!
- Nurse A.J.: [after they've left] That was the craziest thing I've ever seen.
- [they look down to see Dug for the first time, sitting in front of them]
- Dug: Hi there.
- Nurse George, Nurse A.J.: [both are surprised] Aah!
