When I previously wrote my review of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, I mentioned that I was optimistic for the series to be renewed for another season, but questioned how the showrunners would be able to introduce a fresh batch of conflicts for our Millwood liars to tackle. After all, “A” had been apprehended! The main characters seemed to have found closure, and the future seemed bright and unobstructed for each of them.
And then came the summer. Summer School, that is.
As expected in any iteration of Pretty Little Liars, a new A has emerged to torment our five final girls who are stuck in Millwood attending summer school; this time in the form of Bloody Rose–a crimson soaked, knife brandishing antagonist that I would argue is much scarier than our season 1 stalker, Archie Waters. As things heat up with Bloody Rose, the summer brings a slew of...

Twenty years ago, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s breakout hit The O.C., about a group of teens coming of age in Newport Beach, premiered on Fox. By the time the 27-episode first season aired its finale in the spring of 2004, the show was the highest-rated drama on TV among adults 18 to 34 and had catapulted its stars — whose characters were affectionately known as the “Core Four” — to massive, near-overnight popularity.
It wouldn’t be the first or last young adult series in the U.S. to generate a cultural frenzy. But the industry ecosystem that birthed and defined zeitgeisty YA shows like it — 22-episode drama series with largely white casts found through in-person auditions — is vanishing. As viewers have increasingly abandoned broadcast and cable TV, the linear networks these shows called home (Fox, The WB, Upn, The CW, MTV and Freeform) have also faced mergers, acquisitions, multiple rebrands or given...

Over its decade-long run and spawning numerous spin-offs, The Walking Dead has secured its place as one of the most successful TV series. Adapted from the comic book by Frank Darabont, the post-apocalyptic horror show delves into the harrowing struggles of survival in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.
As the name and the concept of the show suggest, it witnessed the demise of several characters throughout its 11-season journey. These deaths are often portrayed in the most heart-wrenching and brutal manner imaginable, leaving fans devastated.

However, when the decision was made to kill off Merritt Wever’s character, the showrunners were unprepared for the immense backlash that followed from the LGBTQ community. Even the actress herself was taken aback by the audience’s reaction.

Think about it: Can you name a recent series that gives off Dawson’s Creek, The O.C. or even Pretty Little Liars energy? Shows that offer incredible melodrama, characters you simultaneously love/can’t stand and baffling storytelling choices in a high school setting? Not considering the supernatural ones — if only because their scope tends to reach too far beyond high school — we can count this type of all-engrossing youth drama on one hand. The teen soap output from The CW, Freeform (née ABC Family) and MTV has become all but nonexistent.

What’s worse than a serial killer stalking you?
Summer school. At least, that’s what the liars believe in the official trailer for Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.
At the beginning of the freshly released footage, the liars—Bailee Madison (Imogen), Chandler Kinney (Tabby), Zaria (Faran), Malia Pyles (Mouse), Maia Reficco (Noa), and Mallory Bechtel (Kelly) — learn that running away from a serial killer hindered their grades.
As a result, they have to attend summer school to help brighten their prospects.
For the teenagers who want to spend their summer relaxing and having fun, it’s the worst news ever.
Original star Annabeth Gish is returning as Dr. Anne Sullivan, the therapist who helped the original crop of liars through the trauma they endured being stalked by A.

The 90 Day Fiance franchise has been a success since it touched down on TLC in 2014.
The reality TV staple has grown arms and legs as spinoff after spinoff has popped up on TLC and Max.
In 2020, 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days Season 4 burst onto screens at the height of stay-at-home orders due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and it was one of the most unhinged seasons of reality TV that year.
Introducing us to Big Ed Brown, Lisa Hamme, Geoffrey Paschel, Varya Malina, David Murphey, Avery Warner, and Stephanie Matto, not a single scene was wasted because every storyline was engaging, outrageous, and highly watchable.
It’s the only season of 90 Day Fiance with any rewatch value because everything that happens is so shocking.
How can we forget Lisa calling out Usman’s music video director for choosing a woman for her husband-to-be’s music video?

Lovebird was the first of two contestants to get eliminated on Wednesday night’s episode of “The Masked Singer” and, as it turns out, “there are some similarities” between keeping his identity hidden on the Fox competition and keeping spoilers away on “The Bachelor” franchise.
If there’s one thing TheWrap has learned in talking to contestants of “The Masked Singer,” it’s that joining the show is similar to joining the CIA for a little bit. That was true for “Pretty Little Liars” star Janel Parrish, who came in third place as Gazelle last season, and who readily admitted that keeping “The Masked Singer” secret was harder than keeping “Pll” spoilers.
It was also true for Lovebird, who was unmasked on Wednesday to be Colton Underwood. Underwood was, of course, the lead on season 23 of “The Bachelor.” But, he notes that the type of secrecy is a bit different.

Sasha Pieterse (Pretty Little Liars), Parker Young (Imposters), Nestor Carbonell (The Dark Knight Rises), and Academy Award® winner Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite) star in this twisted tale of deception and desire based on the bestselling thriller by Adele Parks. The 10 Things I Hate About You cast probably didn’t know it then, but the actors in the 1999 teen rom-com would get their breakout role. In the 25 years since its release, 10 Things I Hate About You has become a cult classic and a career highlight for its actors.
On the surface, 10 Things I Hate About You doesn’t sound like a recipe for success. A William Shakespeare play reworked into a teen comedy featuring a cast of mostly unknown actors? Critics didn’t fall head over heels for it in 1999, but the movie’s appeal has grown over time and attracted new generations of fans (even if sequel plans failed). And if the 10 Things I Hate About You cast was unknown then, now there is no mistaking the talent of stars like Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
